  1. If they dont like their job then leave, im certain it aint a prison sentence. Im sure there are a few people who will apply for the jobs.
  2. On paper alot what you say makes sense, but take the last meeting of the season at Mildenhall last year for example, strange things can happen. I think the meeting will actually be a cracker.
  3. As stated on a previous post, why stay in Cardiff when there must be at least hundreds of B&Bs within a 15 mile radius of Cardiff that will charge around £70 for a double room with breakfast, add some taxi fares and its still much cheaper than Cardiff itself. Im certain there will still be large crowd.
  4. We stay about 15 miles out of Cardiff every year, we pay £75 for a double excellent B&B, then about £30 worth of taxi fares. So around £50 a person with excellent service and breakfast. I dont really understand why anyone stays in the expensive hotels in cardiff? a 15min taxi fare, and your there.
  5. I ordered my tickets and got them fine every year from ticket master, shame you have had some issues, there must be loads left?
  6. Looking forward to this fixture, should be entertaining, Dudley always bring a good level of supporters, and I dont expect there to be many that dont bother due to us starting at our normal time of 4.30pm as planned. Roll on Sunday when we welcome the side from Dudley and the fans who do make the journey, whether that be 2 of them or 100 of them.
  7. Like it or not, the NL is here for riders to progress, so ideally the rider can continue to ride for us (Mildenhall) and the PL team, but if for whatever reason they can't then thats life when you operate in the lower league. Its the same in football that when a player improves off he goes to a higher club, and sometimes loaned back, but rarely. Opinions obviously differ from person to person, and thats life too. What I would add is, that some people seem to jump of the top of a skyscraper as soon as a small problem/hitch comes along, and they seem to be looking for an argument. These are the same people in my opinion, if they won the lottery they would complain they didnt win it the previous week ! I tend to look for the postives , rather than going on about the negatives. This can be difficult if you are surrounded by negative situations, but there are far more positives at Mildenhall in the last couple of seasons. Good luck to Lewis and if it doesnt work at Leicester Im certain he will either get a ride a Mildenhall or somewhere else.
  8. you must have liked my post as you have quoted it a few times! thanks. You are right we are weakened without Heeps and Blackbird, we dont often beat teams when we are put in that position?
  9. It didnt cost Mildenhall the win, Blackbird would have struggled with the track the same. Well done to Stoke, but to be honest with the play off system it doesn't really matter, we will all have to race each other in the play offs anyway. Whether we won today or not, I think we would have to beat Stoke or Dudley over two legs to win the league anyway.
  10. Seems to me that Ipswich could do with a genuine number 1 and a huge number 2 ! does anyone know a number 2?
  11. I wasnt there so can't speak from 1st hand experience, but I dont think Nielson is a cheat? seems like a strong statement.... ?
  12. pity they didnt get the last heat done Im certain Mildenhall would have got the win ! still unbeaten !
  13. well part of what I heard was correct, the other part not so correct!
  14. I heard tonight that Mildenhall had signed some polish rider? i said that they must have dual nationality at least? also that Blackbird was Leicester bound? these are only rumours but has anyone else heard anything?
  15. What happened in the PL for him then? i take it it couldnt have gone that well? he always looked a class above at NL.
  16. Bad news about Nathan, hopefully it heals well, i think legault had a similar injury and was never quite the same anymore, Nathan has age on his side, so hopefully we will see him back at west Row next year. Just wondered about the replacement, when do (if they do) riders averages come into play? would Nathan have moved in to the top part of the side soon ? what are the rules around this? say he had an average of 6ish? can we get a rider up to that average? or will it need to be a 3 pointer ? if so I would have thought it would be Joe Graver?
  17. Well done to Mildenhall and especially Nielsen on his maximum.
  18. 15 i think, he rides for Mildenhall in the National league
  19. I enjoyed yesterdays meeting with some excellent performances from the Tigers, Jacobs pass on the last bend, Camerons riding is always exciting, him and Joe seem to have a decent partnership. Stephan had Irving beaten in my opinion when he was on a tactical, Gary was having a go, but fell trying, he did look quick for Scunthorpe. Our two reserves continue to win races, which is great, and considering they have only had a few meetings. I now look down at the programme and when you see Halseys name, I think yep we could win this one, he is in excellent form and on a 4.76?? average? superb. For Scunthorpe, Young looked a decent prospect and rode well yesterday.
  20. slight drizzle here in town, but patchy cloud, so could well be dry 100 yds up the road??
  21. Excellent post by bagpuss, pretty much summed it up. I thought our whole team rode well last night.
  22. I cant see how this will go ahead with the amount of water we have had about...
  23. Sesquipedalian In brief: "smart" characters using long words when short ones would be better. Characters afflicted with this trait often seem to go out of their way to over-complicate their speech, probably because writers think that this is the only way to show that someone is more intelligent than the average writer. This could also be the trait of a particularly anal-retentive character who always has to be right, the trait extending so far that the character always has to use exactly the right word — never using "blue" when "azure" would be more accurate, for example. Far to clever for me !
