Have you signed either of them yet? the Branford rumour has been going on for months around Mildenhall, but lots of rumours come to nothing, so don't worry. But I would like to see him at Mildenhall.

I would like to see Lewis Kerr, JJ and a 3 pointer Josh Bailey or Grieves?? I think that would fit?

Perceived Nl Reserve Or Junior Teams
Damon replied to greyhoundp's topic in National League Speedway
I think you make some good points, but most of the above should be happening all the time for the speedway promotion in general, whatever the team. I would have thought most of these things would be going on, to try and get the crowds big enough to withstand/cover EL or PL costs, let alone NL. It would be no good having a NL that ticks over and the EL/PL team failing due to not enough people at the event. The general public have only got so much money to spend, and for example if Mildenhall ran two teams, I would probably watch the senior team first choice? or perhaps pick and choose my meetings accordingly, I couldn't afford to go to all of them, but thats just my situation. In the local football club i attend, we have the largest crowd for the first team, but we do get some people who attend the youth and the reserve type sides, but not as many. Some of this is down to not being able to afford to go to everything. -
Is Lewis Kerr not signing for Mildenhall?

Scunthorpe Saints - Not Entering N L 2013 :(
Damon replied to bigred's topic in National League Speedway
My opinion on this is that, if the NL is purely a training league for the other leagues, then why should people like me pay to watch people training? In what other sport do the public pay to watch people training? What I have seen of the amatuer league it serves a purpose, and allows some riders to ride against others, rather than just ride round and round after meetings individually. At least it has some structure, although the ones I have seen are always short of riders and are not run very well! however it is intersting to see the likes of Bailey, Grieves? and Whitmore get a ride and improve to hopefully get a reserve berth the next year. The main point here is I wouldn't pay to watch those lads training. I would however pay and do so to watch the racing we have seen in the NL at times last season, usually when the teams are evenly balanced like Mildenhall, Dudley, Scunthorpe and Stoke at times. IF the NL is supposed to attract paying public, then it needs to be of a decent standard, not purely a training ground for amatuers. -
Decent choice in the current economic climate, i would advise a few of the other struggling PL teams to do the same and save some money !
-
So 40 points limit it should be then. Does make sense so you can go straight ahead and start signing your team.
-
Great start to the team, assuming then that the league structures are going to stay pretty similar or unchagned? All depends on the points limit, but Robert Lambert and Lewis Kerr in there also would be great.
-
Any idea on this announcment then?
-
Is there any truth in the rumours that Cam would not ride for Ipswich next year and might be involved in a swap deal for Stefan?? probably no truth in it but I thought I would ask if anyone else had heard that one?

Both those teams look good Adz

My understanding is that one race costs, basically the wages for those riders, would hardly make or break a promoter, I would say get an extra few people through the door would cover that element. Costs such as medical cover, rent to a stadium owner, insurance, health and safety issues that have to be addressed, then the overall wage bill will obviously have an affect, but by ditching one race, I doubt, would save a troubled club.

I still think all this is early days, until the league structure is confirmed. Which I suppose won't happen until all the promoters get together and state there views and intentions.

They have said something along the lines of it taking to long to administer at the turnstiles?? it does seem a strange decision. -

Putting the accident to one side, which no one likes to see, everyone I have spoken to thinks the meeting was thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining. Some of the overtaking moves by the Mildenhall riders was exceptional. Halsey on Perry, and Bates round the outside were superb ! Jacobs didnt over take many as he was always in front ! Decent post by 21st CH "Secondly, congrats to Mildenhall. The team look to have gone about their business in a truly professional manner. Their riders can only go out and do their best for their club." Obviously the accident must have had some impact on the riders and perhaps it also might have impacted some of the Mildenhall lads?? although the scoreline looks large some of the passing was well worth the £12 entrance fee. I would agree with the comments from Aljack regarding the programme price. -
tough one, iinjuries are an issue, we are currently lucky that Bates has come back, but if we hadnt lost him or Nathan at all, then I think we would be un-stoppable. Alot hangs on who we can get to cover for Heeps, Garrity would be my choice if available.

thats is a blow for them then....
