The silencers must have had effect on the racing - look at the heat times - nearly every one was 58. something - thats faily evidence that there was a leveller - though I do agree the track was 'slicker' than the norm if anything Made for an afternoon that will rate a bit processional - still top crowd (not much atmosphere and noise though - Air horns need to be in track shops for certain)and some good money for an excellent cause Get the season going and we can have a debate on those pesky silencers - Dont think im a fan - and if it spoils the racing then speedway is on it's aris for sure

The ref seriously got the Barker incident wrong - how you can penalise a rider on 2 mins after his bike set alight is beyond me - fair play to rob and the track staff for their vain attempts to get Stevie wonder to see things another way - and for getting a half decent track together - after the first half dozen or so heats the racing did improve - though nowhere near our usual passing fest and out and out racing we're used to. Jerran's pass around Doolan was awesome - he was well chuffed in the pits at the close of the meeting (as he searched for the filter under his covers thathe had shed in the final) Doolan lived up to his billing, Ashworth went well - Barker , frampton and Bowen mixed it all afternoon, Tabaka looked half decent and Wilko was very unlucky not to have progressed after being the innocent victim of all 4 back - Millsy had a decent day and surely must be on a team sheet for 2010 somewhere On the verandah - Priesty was lively, Tai resplendant in fluffy ear muffs with his buddies in tow, Birkinshaw was mischievous and Wilson behaved impeccably

weather set fair - was lovely today in Scunny - dry and mild - same again Sunday - dont forget the quiz - £5 a team - plus name card and whisky bottle toss in the bar afterwards

History now - 16yr old Tai Woffinden has finished 3rd - an awesome achievement and his 1st visit to Eastbourne's track - Well done lad - Up the Scorpions

He wears seriously bad slacks and shirt combos too - lol

Richie Dennis was down to ride at Plymouth - but injury to a rider (forget who) - saw common sense and save Rcihie a trek - it also let a local rider to Plymouth (again forget who) get his chance to ride without a long journey
