  1. Good morning Martin not old enough be involved in the Poultec scheme so can't comment
  2. There is a train of thought that kids can't ride prepared tracks and they need to be slick but if they don't have the chance to ride them how would they know. We did the Scunthorpe v Leicester challenge last year as part of the 250 group and the track was somewhere between championship and National league preparation and the boys coped admirably. Have done very few second half's this year as was finding it was just an exercise in learning how to change tyres and I already knew how to do that . unfortunately we don't have a dedicated trading system like the Poles , Germans, Danes and Swedes the majority of our training is pay £40 and queue up. There have been some good sessions with Jason crump though but sadly not enough . Personally think we could do with someone different at each level 125, 250 and 500 to pass on information and educate riders and parents He is loving it and enjoying at the moment but as the years go by and the nearer it gets to reality of potentially league racing the more intense it gets
  3. Servicing is done by Sean wilson and Robbie Kessler . Is not the maintenance for me it's set ups ,jetting ,timing up a tooth down a tooth shorten it up lengthen it up and the rest . I get good feed back from the pilot but it is interpreting it from what he says to what I see when he's riding . Constantly when we have been away we have nobody with this type of knowledge with us .
  4. Very good post and a good assessment of speedway in uk . As the parent of a young rider we have seen the level that European riders are in terms of ability against our lads and in all honesty it's not so much what they do on the bike it's more about the set ups. These lads all have constant training on all aspects of the sport with national coaches who also travel with them for meetings. We have occasional days with current and former riders which is more based on track than in the pits. The days are ok but are always run on slick tracks with no preparation done to them , after speaking with our counter parts the always practice on fully prepared race tracks . There is no help for the parent who has to do the spanner work and in all honesty even though I'm quite mechanically minded I do believe there's not much more I can do and without guidance I don't know how much more I can do or teach my lad. His natural talent will only take him so far then it's about small marginal gains which without more help at this stage we won't know how to get them
  5. Personally think £10 is a bit much but will be some good racing on show . The 250 class is the strongest this year and usually provides the best action
  6. Kemp would be a good addition but a big no thanks to kennet
  7. Theo is in Poland for world long track unsure on tero
  8. Personally think it would be a good idea if speedway gb entered a team into the German teams cup . Make the proviso it's only our younger riders say under 22 and give them the opportunity. Also believe there format involves a 250 rider so would benefit the younger lads as well
  9. I was more laughing at the point you think anders Rowe is the only one with any hope . Even though he is a decent rider palin flint and several others will go further
  10. Having recently witnessed the German and Swedish 250 riders personally think we're in a much better position than them . The danish and polish lads are slightly in front not necessarily on ability but definitely on setups of bikes
  11. Neil Vatcher knows this and is constantly looking for opportunities for his young lads to race abroad. We should of been in Denmark today and tomorrow but was cancelled at late notice and there are chances to go to Germany Czech and Poland before season ends . All the parents of the juniors know where we need to go and if your prepared for it it's all there for you
  12. Berwick had riders available but would of been pointless without any opposition
  13. Thought Kerr was poor and not a great replacement for our no1 maybe better 5
  14. Berwick did it on Saturday with a 9.30 curfew and a delay at heat 2 were there's a will there's a way. Berwick are very good at giving the younger riders track time . If Birmingham have agreed the fixture they have to push the main meeting on no letting the meeting drag on they have to remember the juniors are traveling a long way for no reimbursement.
  15. Hoping tracks good as there is a junior challenge with Berwick academy afterwards 9 heats of 125 250 and 500 cc
  16. Is it the Bspl who have done this or is it an assumption. If it it's the former it's a poor state of affairs
  17. We only have 2 one is for cash payments one is for online payment. Personally got to the track at 7.20 and was in by 7.25 through the online section . THere was a sizeable queue to pay though
  18. Fantastic evening track was as good as it's been for years . Jordan Palin was man of the meeting for me always in the mix and looks to be maturing as a rider. Also for Redcarr Jake Allen was top notch be good to have him back next season
  19. Anybody have the times for the 250cc racing in the second half please
  20. the difference in the gp is its one race one tyre unlike here where its meant to be on tyre per meeting. recently we used anlas 002 in the 250 cc class in poland and germany and did one race per edge and got similar wear patterns to the anlas 003 which we use in the uk. the tyres are not designed for longevity
