  1. Taken Poole +2 > Kings Lynn and Miskowiak to outscore Alden off scratch tonight, also put a couple of sheckles on the tie and handicap tie
  2. A track should be (safely) ride-able by all straight out of the box, yes there is such a thing as home track advantage but this is mainly down to knowledge of the best lines to ride and such, not by having a track surface prepared so one team can stay upright and the visitors can't. That is what would be considered dangerous and it's no surprise the track work was ordered before somebody got hurt. Safety has to come first.
  3. The amount of falls in the opening heats suggests the work wasn't what you'd call "good"
  4. Nope, I took Zengota-2 > Woodward aswell as the Lakeside -8 > P'boro I also had a £10 charity bet going with KKS on the Zengota/Woodward one, I took Zengota, he took Woodward and I gave him the draw, the loser had to pay £10 to the winners charity of choice. He backed out at the last minute. Coward.
  5. Just gone for Lakeside -8 > P'boro tonight, the Coventry v Eastbourne match has far too many variable rider performances for me.
  6. I'm not sure even industrial cleaning would rescue them, they need burning and replacing I reckon - was certainly a scary moment for him!
  7. If he keeps it up he'll be challenging for the No.1 race jacket at Brandon!
  8. He knew he'd only get 0,0,1,0 if he rode this afternoon so has bottled it, the phrase "Only as good as your last meeting" must of been going through his head.

  10. Oh believe me, up in that stand for most of the night it was b b b b b blooming cold towards the end, we gave in and went back to the "warmth" of the terraces near the bar for the last few heats - which also meant easy access to the pits for the handbag stuff! Indeed, the Witches weren't holding back against their teammates either sometimes, but they kept it clean. Manzares really impressed me, if only he could gate better then he's one to watch for sure. Oh and if anyone thinks that these type of meetings aren't of that much importance to the riders then you only had to see Garritys and Doolans reactions in the pits when they were told of Garrity getting 3rd place over Doolan on the countback rule - Garrity was super excited, swearing and punching the air (in a good way!), Doolan on the other hand looked gutted but congratulated Jason on the news. Real passion shown by both and also the way Barker and Tungate raced for the 1st place in the race off proved it meant something.
  11. We all know you're trolling and I know you waited to speak to me (on Twitter) as to what happened before coming on here and posting the exact opposite - I told you it was deliberate, you the post on here saying it wouldn't of been deliberate. You do this of course to try and inflame situations and provoke people into reactions. The problem you've got though Kris is that many of the people on this thread were there, they saw the incident and some also saw the aftermath in the pits (myself included) - you didn't see or hear any of it first hand so nobody will put any weight in your opinion. Also, it's only by luck that Barker came out unscathed as he hit one of the last airfence panels on the forth bend at a hell of a speed, a few feet further round and he'd of been through the collapsible fence and across the stock car track.
  12. Don't worry Sue, your place isn't under threat! I need the pause between heats to be a terrace manager and hold court on what's just happened / what's probably about to happen! Last night I struggled to send overly detailed heat reports and fill in my program in time! Oi you! I do OF feelings you know!! lol
  13. You can't have an opinion? Are you an official of the Belle Vue club and involved in the investigation?
  14. I struggled to write my War And Peace novels inbetween heats, and I'm no slouch at texting! What I text through to Fozzie was much longer than a lot of what appeared in a lot of cases, I do tend to go on a bit sometimes! lol
  15. What burst water main? Do you honestly believe that? Genuine question.
  16. It seems the views are fairly consistent - stick to the rules! If your riders are missing - regardless of the reason or who you try and blame - then it's unlucky, how to react to that situation is up to the promotion, assuming they can't mutually agree to cancel the meeting with the opposing promotion then they have limited choices within the rules: Use reserves - but inform the spectators before they pay to enter the stadium, would probably result in a home loss. Use illegal guests - better for spectators although it'll mean points being deducted later down the line resulting in that home loss again. What you don't do is make up some yarn about a burst waterpipe to justify cancelling a meeting without the track even being seen by a referee - just because a couple of your riders couldn't be there. As has been said, other riders rode in Poland the day before and managed to get to Belle Vue, maybe their travel plans were a bit better thought out? Rules are rules and should be stuck to, no allowing higher averaged riders to replace lower ones and exceeding the points limit because it's "in the interest of the sport" - that term has become pretty much synonymous with cheating these past few years, if you allow it to happen more often whilst the inmates are still running the asylum then you may as well not bother with having rules on team building limits etc
  17. Not sure if Lol Hare was there tonight but I know Mark Loram was, ok Mark isn't paralysed through a speedway injury but his career was cut short through an accident which North almost duplicated in his first attempt when he turned right on Barker on the back straight before he rolled off the throttle on the third bend to nail him on the fourth. It was a deliberate act, not sure if there is any history between the two of them - or if North thought he was taking up the crusade on his own - but it sure looked like there was niggle there from watching that race.
  18. And all his mates / riders / mechanics in the pits congratulating him after the altercation as if it was something to be proud of? Dakota has tweeted - and deleted - to Chris Holder when asked about the incident in the pits saying "@Chris_Holder23 haha nar man no punches just told the clown to fuq off, his had it coming a long time from alot of people" Trying to justify it, good one
  19. Dakota also had the choice to not put Barker into the fence but didn't take it.
  20. You're welcome, I also had Poole-11 (and a little double on both) which looked shaky at first given how well Doolan and North were going at reserve for Eastbourne to begin with but came through in the end. Tonight's return fixture at Swindon could be interesting, will wait and see how the bookies price it. Oh and for the SGP at the weekend - Emil (8/1) will be there or there abouts, has great form there from the past seasons and is flying right now. Hancock might also be worth a few quid each way as he's long(ish) odds due to poor recent SGP form (14/1 on Bet365, 7/1 on Skybet!) and Zagar seems good value each way at 25/1 (18/1 on B365!). EDIT: Gone for a little on KL+13 > Swindon tonight (Would of gone more is Stead was riding) and Schlein+1 > Batchelor as Schlein will get an extra ride as R/R for Mads and should also get heat 15 where as Troy may not.
  21. KL-12 tonight over Swindon should be nailed on with no Hans or facility for him. Lewis Blackbird takes his place....
