  1. In all likelihood - from here! The trouble with the forums is that people are by and large anonymous yet some really do sound as if they are "in the know" where in reality they know as many facts as the next man!
  2. In a word - yes!! I'd like to thank Tony Mole for taking Brum up and allowing us to swap, I do feel sorry for Brum fans though This is something I've brought up in a couple of the threads about the EL debacle over the past few days, and it's a subject that has quite frankly pee'd me off - it was only a couple of weeks ago that Ipswich's choices seemed to be: Run in the Elite league and lose more money that we don't have (in other words not an option) or close the gates for at least a season - the cash carrot wasn't being dangled to us to provide the numbers of teams in the EL, why? Well the BSPA knew that if we closed the doors there would still be 8 teams in the EL and the Sky deal would be safe, but now Coventry and P'boro are threatening to pull the plug that Sky contract is in real danger and it's the lifeblood of the EL, they NEED KL (or any other team) to guarentee a minimum of 8 EL teams regardless of what Cov & P'boro decide to do and the only way they would get anybody interested in joining the EL is with a dirty great pile of money which they now seem to of found - I honestly cannot believe that after a decade or so of success in the PL and multiple refusals of joining the EL that the Chapmans would seriously consider the BSPA's cash carrot that is being dangled? It's so short sighted it's almost insulting! If the question was posed to the Chapmans: "Would you accept this pile of cash to join our league knowing that it could set your club back 15 years or so?" and the Chapmans didn't laugh it off I'd be amazed, I genuinely would.
  3. Stars going EL and rumours of a "new" club also running in the EL? Seems the big boys need more cannon fodder - don't buy into the EL "dream", there are plenty of people who did and got burnt It all looks like it's desperate measures from the EL to hang onto the Sky cash cow - they've certainly hit the panic button from what I can see! Like headless chickens....
  4. Just send them down the a140, we'll look after them!
  5. Scott used to box if I remember correctly, my money would be on him I dunno how THJ managed to find his way to the track - he doesn't normally bother I thought!
  6. As I watched it on a stream, here is my view on it (and without any Ipswich / UK / Scott Nicholls bias): Basically in the original running Shields was going round THJ, THJ went wider and wider all too late, his dirt deflector went into Adams front wheel then the edge of his rear wheel went in which is where all the spokes got taken out, Shields went down and was excluded - wrong call in my opinion In the rerun Scott was off gate 1, THJ off 2, both got to the first bend at about the same time, plenty of barging between them on the way there, Scott looked out for revenge to be honest, nothing between them going round the bend, THJ was leaning massively on Scott mid-bend, Scott picked up some grip and straightened up (probably due to THJ leaning on his rear wheel!) and Scott pretty much T-boned THJ causing him to go off and hit get sucked under the airfence, what was funny was how THJ got up in a rage and looked like he wanted to go and lump Scotty - that would of been no contest! All three back and Scott pretty lucky to get that, in the third rerun it's the same again from the gate, THJ turns left into the bend very early trying to clamp Scott on the kerb but he simply wasn't infront enough to do it - less than a wheel length I'd say - again this straightens Scott up which flings Scott off his bike, he does a mid-air cartwheel and goes into the fence with his bike following him in, THJ also goes off infront of his bike Scott is soon up and looking a little sore, whilst walking off the track with Danny King, Jason Crump comes out (captain of THJ's team) and has a go at Scott, in an interview with Crump afterwards he blames Scott and said he should of shut off the throttle and if Crump was the ref he'd of excluded him, but Crump isn't the ref and it was THJ who was excluded (rightfully so) THJ stays down and leaves the track in a ambulance but after a check at the hospital he is back in the pits later in the evening, Scott sat in his pits looking in discomfort and asked to goto the hospital for a once over, they suspect whiplash and maybe a cracked/broken rib. Worth mentioning that no, Scott DIDN'T go over to see how THJ was when he was walking back to the pits - mainly because THJ was being treated by the medical staff which is entirely reasonable!
  7. A wheel length perhaps, take your Danish blinkers off
  8. I'm watching it and it was THJ's fault, THJ turned left into him before the bend when he wasn't infront of him THJ should of gone for taking Shields off in the original run of the heat anyway
  9. only hasn't thrown this laptop out of the window yet as it's not mine and I'm meant to be repairing it!!

  10. [quote name='Steve Shovlar' Why chose a track that Batchelor and Ward were brought up on? This meeting should have been held at Monmore, Coventry or Poole[\b], or a track where the British riders hold the upper hand over their rivals. This is going to be a walk in the park for the Aussies. Poor call to go to KL. And using Poole for event 2 wouldn't play in to the hands of Watt, Ward and Holder? Somewhere like Ipswich or Swindon would of given us a small advantage - not that it was needed in the end Does humble pie taste nice Steve?
  11. I think Hancock knows the track well, might be worth a each way - he's lurking around the 20-25/1 mark at present I think
  12. Bet365 have Hampel at 18/1 and Lindback at 25/1 for this weekends GP - both have to worth a each way punt I think
  13. Lindback is 25/1 for the Swedish gp - gotta be worth a each way punt seeing how he went last year Also taken Hampel ew at 18/1
  14. If we assume Gollob wins this GP, where does Crump need to come to get the title? Just thinking of laying some money on Gollob to pinch the title.....
  15. If we assume for a second that Gollob does win this GP, where does Crump have to come to assure the title? Semi's?
  16. Because I wanted to watch it on delay when I returned from the meal at around 8:30....... In the end I watched it and +'d it 10:30, saw all the qualifing rounds before falling asleep (given the first dozen heats I think I done well!) and watched the semi's and final at 5am before work this morning - an ideal situation? Far from it!
  17. No, I phoned Sky today to enquire this as I'm out for a meal until about 8pm, my choices were to Sky+ the first half and miss the end, or watch the end live when I get in and miss the first 2 hours! Great choice and Sky will be getting a stinky email from me on Monday..... For what it's worth it's repeated at 10.30pm on SS2 and again at 8am tomorrow So I'll watch it at 10.30pm for 3 hours (assuming no delays) - great when I'm up at 4.30am tomorrow for work!!
  18. Just so people are aware, this is live on sky from 6pm-8pm and then switches over to the red button - awkward if like me you're going out and planned to Sky+ it......
  19. Thread on the unofficial Witches website about it from a forum member who was there, titled "Miskowiak to face lengthy ban?": http://www.witchesfans.co.uk/
  20. Betting sites have odds on Harris, Bridger, Richardson, King and Woffinden to win races so I would assume that's the five.....
  21. The same Gollob who unfortunetly missed out on his last ride with terrible terrible bike problems and he was clearly unable to ride it as he coasted round the track on it in a desperate attempt to make to start before the 2min warning was up, he looked throughly dejected and heartbroken of letting down his many UK fans that had paid to turn up...... Yet nobody seems to be mentioning that, imagine if Scott had of done it? These forums would of gone into meltdown!
  22. And here we have it in a nutshell - Scott bring critisized for signing loads of autographs and taking the time for pics and a chat with Witches fans on Thursday night! I was there in the pits and the excitment amongst the kids who got his autograph and spoke to him was great to see - these kids are the future fans of this sport so ANY rider that takes time to encourage them and make them feel special should be applauded regardless of people personal opinions on that rider (most of which is based on gossip and hear say) By your own admission Shazzy you HATE Lee Richardson, I guess he must of done something terribly personally to you in order for you to feel that strongly (or you're just being mellowdramatic?) yet you sit there and try and turn a simple fact that Scott was making kids nights as something he should do because others do it - Scott does a lot more for the fans in the pits than a hell of a lot of riders I've seen at Ipswich in recent times, so how about you stop slating a guy for doing something you imply he should be doing as a matter of course anyway!
  23. Emil, some of his pit crew and a couple of engines by the look - so to answer your question - not a lot
