If it's one league at Championship level there wouldn't be fixed race nights. Tracks having riders that compete in the top leagues in Poland and Sweden would just have to try and miss clashes of fixtures from Thursday to Sunday. Some may have one or two riders in Sweden, but not many of the newly listed squads in Poland hardly feature riders that ride here any way. There is off the top of my head only Doyle, Iversen, Holder (Torun), Lambert (Lublin), Fricke (Wroclaw) and Kurtz (Leszno) that feature in the Polish Extraliga so hopefully if they return they can sort out to miss any clashes. However at at a Championship level there wouldn't be many clashes with Poland and just certain ones in Sweden but these might be avoidable in most cases.

Seems a few were left wondering what that post on Twitter meant especially when it gets on other sites and you don't see the comments made. Seems to be something a school kid would post but strange for an official account to post. Did the post White Bunnies on the first of the month

As Premiership looks doomed with only a handful wishing to stay on board the sinking ship, it looks like a Championship level league of 18 clubs and a CL limit at 42.5 should be about right with the amount of NL riders required. If it is one league, the tracks coming in from the Premiership would be cutting back but as doubling up will be out the window, some riders will be moving on at most tracks. Glasgow I think will want Cook to lead them and think Tungate may be moved out. Now lies the question, which averages do they use. Dan Bewley for example had a PL average of 7.23 which converted is 9.23 but he has a CL average of just 6.79 which is obviously lower than his real ability possibly due to bonus points not being included in a tight team. Dan Bewley, Steve Worrall, Jye Etheridge, Kyle Bickley (protected number seven NL reserve) and maybe Max Fricke as their number one should form the backbone of a decent team.

Team USA has a lot of people that help them out in Britain based around Wolverhampton and think Wolves who are known for loyalty and have a pedigree with American riders may just be the thing that gets him at Monmore rather than anywhere else. Nicolai Klindt and Brady Kurtz would be the first two signed at Poole as Nicolai actually averaged just under eight a match this year and Brady is a bargain on that average.

Pretty sure Pontus works full time in a family business and only rides Sweden as a hobby with a bit of financial income. Doubt he would be interested in riding here again.

This is where this year they may come unstuck. Yes Wolves, Swindon, Kings Lynn and Poole see themselves as too big to be riding at Championship level and can out vote the other three. However Belle Vue want to carry on in the top level if there is one but would prefer to return to Friday race nights and would be happy to do so in one league. Leicester want to return to Saturday's so one league would be best for them while Somerset have indicated they would consider one league or Championship with a return to Friday race nights. If the big four vote for a Premiership hopefully these three say No and then all seven are left with no choice but to operate in the Championship

Lambert signed when they agreed he wouldn't be the number 8 as he wasn't assured of rides.

The bike he had there on Monday was a dummy bike that was knitted out with his bike covers. His season has finished and while money isn't everything why should he ride in a meeting for a few hundred quid when he was there to meet the fans after making history as the first three time World Champion from Britain. Riding was was never in consideration and let's face it, it's not exactly a line up to test him or even riders like Fricke, Lambert, Iversen and Doyle who have full bike set ups here but it's not questioned why they were not riding. Yes merchandise sales were part of it but to knock him for turning up and putting a smile on many faces that night is surprising anyone would even question it. At least he did his bit by doubling the gate and never had a holiday booked

No it's bends 1 & 2 and the pits being moved to turn one as the pits area is already in the boundary set for houses and part of the pits is taped off as out of area.

Talk is that Nick Morris is all but secured for next year at Monmore. Certainly didn't have a great season in 2018 but like Thorssell, Howarth, Wells and a few others will be on modest averages next season.

I didn't think you would post this. You know the difference between the level this meeting was and what Tai does during the season. He has done his season, worked hard and come out of it fully fit and with the title. Why would he race in a meeting for about £50 a race. He would have earnt more selling his candles and to see how many people he stopped to talk to, have picture taken and spend time I think many were very happy he was in n the sidelines instead

At least half the crowd was there because of Tai being there and fair play to him still being there talking to fans over an hour after the final race. One of the best crowds of the season by all accounts and for a poor line up its a good job he was there as the crowd could have been in three figures.

Wouldn't be surprised if Chris does just Sweden and Poland next year as he certainly has his mind elsewhere and lost his appetite for racing. Jack has improved a lot this year and regular rides at Torun for last two seasons has been the key and that will be his priority. Note that Sweden are trying to change to Thursday nights apparently

Lambert to Robins, Doyle to Stars
INCOGNITO replied to ZagarRacing's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It was the team criticised more than anything. Runners up last year they needed extra power and gambled on Fricke being the number 8 and coming in when needed however Lebedevs was terrible and moved to Rybnik, Milik was a shadow of his previous year and they had to put Drzodz at 2 and use Max to cover his rides so he was out with Tai most races. He he will be back at Wroclaw next season and will have a second pole in Possibly Przedpelski with Magic so a more settled team and of course Drabik at reserve still. -
When its announced feel free to celebrate but Britains top prospect at present joining a track with an unsecured future isn't going to be on his priorities considering all his contracts for 2019
-
Lambert has to be looking at being based in Germany and dropping Britain with all the leagues and competitions he has lined up next year. Iversen on a modest average has to be a bargain but now back in the GP will he want to ride here now as he has missed previous seasons to concentrate on other fixtures. Jorgensen, Proctor and Palm-Toft have to be back as the backbone and if there is anything in them getting Doyle who lives close by, they should get it sorted asap
-
Somerset secured Doyle thanks to a sponsorship deal that made it possible. Will that still be the case next year and if not will they want to break the bank to get him. He is without doubt a great rider in a small pool and the reason they made the play offs but the books have to be looked at first to see if they can afford him again. Jack Holder has been a big success this year and really moved up and if they can get both back they have plenty of riders on low averages to fill up the five other places. Is is there going to be set race nights, Is there going to be as much doubling up, will race nights clash with leagues here or elsewhere. Lot to be seen what comes out in the next month or so but glad Somerset had a good season after the bold move to come up.

Lambert to Robins, Doyle to Stars
INCOGNITO replied to ZagarRacing's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He he lives in Germany with his girlfriend on spare days so Germany is where he started also plus a few bigger names are now riding there and he has German sponsors. Denmark is only a few meetings but Britain on various race nights and thirty odd fixtures are not really going to fit in with all his other leagues and competitions and like Woffinden, Lindgren, Dudek etc will find British way of life and money on offer detracts from the contracts they have elsewhere. Poland, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, SWC or SoN, SEC, U21, GP qualifiers and potential GPs on his calendar would he fit in or benefit from racing 30+ meetings here especially as most of his major sponsors are Polish or German. He he has reached a level at just the age of 20 and good luck to him trying to complete at the highest level possible and Britain isn't going to test him too much now. Go for it Robert -

With Lambert signing for Motor Lublin again and in the 2019 Extraliga plus doing Sweden, Denmark, Germany, SEC, World U21 and a GP reserve I don't think Robert will be riding in Britain next year and base himself more in Germany. if no fixed race nights it will be interesting to see which clubs switch back to Friday and Saturday as this could affect any signings riding in the top league in Poland. Next year they have every meeting live on TV and this will mean one on a Friday, one on a Saturday and two on the Sunday in many weekends and Poland get priority. -
Think Freddie has come to the understanding now that he doesn't need to be rushing around flying in and out of Britain just as most GP riders don't and doing Sweden, Poland and the GP is not only comfortable but also where the money is and don't see him back here. With Lublin getting promoted, I would also be a bit surprised if Robert Lambert does Britain next year as he already does Sweden and Germany to go alongside Poland and the SEC. Exactly as as it could be like it is, one big league, six or seven man teams and god knows what limit and restrictions but some suggestions here can possibly be put out of reach whichever way it goes. Firstly it's over the same amount of matches and Nicolai has matured as a rider and while Jacob hasn't had a great year anywhere, he is a bargain in a low average next season and possibly the first name on the team next year in either two leagues or one big league. Note that Nicolai is no longer a Wolves asset, so although I think he could be a better rider now back there, he turned them down last year and was sold even though he still lives near by. Dont see any Championship team having any thoughts of moving up. The costs rise and they would have to sign a bigger rider but staying in the Championship is doing them fine as they are so why change. Birmingham am maybe and think Eastbourne could do well but can't see them changing or IoW Never work as current Premiership clubs will have a stronger hold and as you say, you wouldn't get to see half the teams. As as for attracting away fans, let's concentrate on getting more local fans in first not trying to expand the very few that do travel now. Make the product more affordable to the majority and get the word out what speedway is. One league will will give much more variety of fixtures, more weekly matches too and number sevens would be NL riders plus most reserves. Build to Championship levels and welcome in new riders from Denmark, Sweden, Germany, USA and others to ensure with NL riders there is enough for seven man teams. As for Wolves next season. Jacob Thorssell has to be in on a bargain average and if they can keep Kyle Howarth on an average around five he would also be a bargain, but in one league I think Sheffield won't won't to lose him. Luke Becker would be a must and while he has been tipped to join Poole, Wolves have a great tradition of American riders and Sam wouldn't be far to help. They also build loyalty to riders and he could have a long career at Wolves. In one league Sam not being an asset could see him at Edinburgh again and Rory maybe staying at Ipswich but I know he loves it at Wolves. Maybe a new number one coming in and a younger rider which could be a suprise signing to Wolves fans and the club he may be with now ? Ashley Morris is an asset, but will he progress anymore. In one league he would be a second string but as it is a reserve and that could be a big difference in what he can do. Nathan Greaves is a firm favourite and can see him being back at number six and no doubt many would love to see Tom Bacon in but is a Peterborough asset. Guessing games me sin many ways until we see what they decide on their annual piss up ..... I mean meeting

With tickets being shorter than normal this year, there is always people looking at the last minute to either buy tickets or sell tickets due to unforeseen circumstances. So so thought it would help if those looking to buy tickets can look on here instead of threads devoted to the racing and riders. PS - I know three people after tickets and travelling out so I'm sure there are more

Who will get the last playoff spot??
INCOGNITO replied to ZagarRacing's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Which means very little now as this is now a cup battle and it's who has the sprint finish that becomes Champions, not the leader with a mile to go
