Elite League Draft Riders
INCOGNITO replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Number 8 rider's are standby replacement for a missing rider and are the lowest ranked of the three. Screamer - Lewis Rose is not an asset and is free to join whichever club picks him -
Zagar Cook Nicholls Worrall Gino comes to 32.01 without reduction but think Gino would be over powered in the EL
-
Looks like Ricky Wells is unlikely now as he and Ashley Morris have both signed for Workington and I don't think you can have two doubling up riders from the same Premier League team

Elite League Draft Riders
INCOGNITO replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It will be interesting when a rider misses a meeting and a lower ranked rider is used as a guest even though the guest is averaging considerably more. What happens when a rider not on the list is approached to cover for a long term injury or replacement. Can teams sign a new rider not on the list if he is averaging less than 3.00 in the EL. Joe Haines for example could come out of retirement and at a young age and national titles to his name could he be bought in at any stage or even Charles Wright or Steve Boxall ? -
Batchelor and Masters would be a good idea if they go with two big riders

The FIM Awards will be on Motors TV (SKY 447) on Sunday evening at 9pm

Elite League Draft Riders

If one of these riders is injured or missing. Who can replace them ? At the end of season and one is averaging 6 in the Elite League what average would he have the following year ? -
Forget any riding order. Teams are likely to be in average order with reserves only having to face the opposing numbers four and five riders along with other reserves.
-
Teams seem to be looking at how the new format suits the different formations of team building and are packing the top five with four solid scorers and a number one. If Wolves opt to go with a top two of Tai and PK or Batchelor then they are at risk of having the weakest second strings in the league. It's a shame they never got Nicholls as he gave them 5+ for the last rider but they need to start the season with Thorssell as the fifth rider to give them more stability in meetings.
-
If they keep Zagar then Garrity would be the final rider for the top five positions as he has an assessed average over three points so they would still have two reserves to find However they could go with Hougaard and Wells or Wolbert for the last two places
-
Don't think you will find Scott not giving anything but 100% for Belle Vue and a good team man who can help the likes of Cook and Worrall. They have done well to get him as other clubs had been talking to him and it did look like Birmingham would win the race to sign him. If they can keep Zagar or at least get another number one then Aces will have a decent team but much depends on the riders selected at reserve
-
There are a few big names that could sign but it remains to be seen if they are willing to pay for the top riders

Elite League Draft Riders

If it's any help Joe Screen has been missed off that list -
It would not be a surprise to see five of last year's team return and the Lindgren's replaced by two National League riders. Ashley Morris is sure to be one making it six assets and if Joe Haines did think about returning it would be a full team of assets and Joe is just as good, if not better than Ashley.

Elite League Draft Riders

Each EL team should get to pick one of their own assets first to fill the number six race jacket. Any team that does not have an asset to pick will then get the first pick until all teams have a number six rider. Then the team with the lowest ranked reserve should get first pick of the number sevens and so on until all teams are completed. Then each team should be given the opportunity to sign another rider who has a lower average than anyone else to be their stand by rider to cover for clash of dates. -
Sundstrom. Nicholls. Harris. Hansen and Fisher would be a formidable top five and with Coventry Storm having a few decent riders to choose from then Bees should be able to challenge next season but have to agree that Morris or Staechmann would be better options to manage the team.
-
They have to be a product of the National League so Andrew Tully can't be used at reserve as he also has an assessed average for the Elite League. These riders that can be used will most likely be a National League rider in the last two seasons and doesn't have an EL average higher than any of the top five. If they are only allowed to field a NL rider from 2013 then there are only 8 teams to pick from and why should Coventry Storm riders ride for anyone other than Coventry Bees and with CVS involved with the Dudley Heathans then you would expect Blackbird and Morris to be the Wolverhampton reserves next season. Should these young riders be forced to ride in the top league is another subject but I find it hard to see how they will score enough to make a living unless they ride only against each other in programmed rides but then they will get inflated averages for the following season.
-
Jepsen Jensen would go for the best deal if he was interested in riding in England but he isn't and Peterborough would not be his first, second or third choice. Bech nearly joined an Elite League club this season and could be taking that option in 2014. Is the rumour correct that Bjarne could be back at Wimborne Rd next season at number one ?
-
Batchelor Doyle and Morris along with mainly British youngsters could be the Robins line up next season if Danish meetings are going to be a hindrance to the fixtures. Which way they go remains to be seen but I have no doubt they will be a front runner yet again
-
Harris at Coventry Doyle at Swindon Barker at Ipswich ? Unless they are looking at the Premier League then you would think they are looking at King and Smolinski as their top two for next seaso with Covati as a second string along with Auty as Smolinski should be able to fit in Britain with other meetings.
-
Would be surprised if Wolves went for Doyle even though he rides the place well as they have a number of assets that can be fitted in to whatever limit is set for next season and usually go for the devil they know than bring in a loan rider although Sam Masters is likely to be included.
-
Like catch me Kangaroo Covatti or Marsupial Martin. If costs are not reduced enough then that's the way they could head but more likely to be in the new look Elite League with those two and Auty
-
So Peter Adams let it out of the bag that they have just missed out on Jepsen Jensen in 2011 and Michelsen in 2014. At least he never said anything about Mikkel Bech !!

No Sky Or League Sponsorship Money Etc...
INCOGNITO replied to Phil's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It will be interesting to see when they start negotiations with SKY as the AGM is less than two weeks away and they can't go with a limit as it is without that money in place. So it looks like it will be a much lower limit and more teams. Hopefully just Leicester and do 20 home and 20 away meetings
