  1. If Paul Starke is in Grade 2 then I would go for the lowest grade A reserve in order to get him. ........ that could be Roynon or Birks but what would happen if Poole owned the best riders in both Grades ? Maybe it would have been a good idea to give them all an assessed average from 4 and 3.5 in Grade A and 3 or below down to 2.0 for Grade B and this is given allowance for the top five so a team with a 4.0 and a 3.0 reserve has 32 for the top five and a team with weaker reserves has upto 344 34
  2. If the likes of Woffinden Iversen Janowski Holder Kildemand etc are not going to be riding here next season a rider like Scott Nicholls will be one of the highest averaging riders next season and in 2014 he improved his average where as most other heat leaders went down. Fredrik Lindgren will be the key rider as to how the team lines up as he would be the main rider in the league once more if he decided to return to Britain but will it be with Wolverhampton ? Jason Doyle could be the rider that safes the day as Leicesters race night won't help him being in the grand prix series but will he be required at Swindon to replace Kildemand ? Will Hans Andersen be wanted back at Coventry or will he be on the move again and Wolves is one of the few teams he has yet to start with All speculation until the annual party is over and the bar tab is paid
  3. Doyle and Batchelor leading the team with Morris would certainly be interesting as both are in the Grand Prix series which could help but could also get in the way of each other. I Trouble is that a number of riders have inflated averages due to the format so it could be a risk including riders like Gustafsson or North after one good season in easier races
  4. Davey Watt used to be a track specialist but in recent seasons he has in large struggled at a number of away tracks and it would be a surprise to see Wolves sign a rider of his age and desire to double up. If there is no Woffinden or Lindgren back next season then they will look forward more than back or at least until 2016 when Pawlicki will be 21 and no longer a reserve in Poland. If any Australian rider signs for Wolverhampton then it would most likely be Jason Doyle or Rory Schlein.
  5. Dakota North was very impressive the times I saw him in Swindon colours and not surprised he gained such a good average which was higher than some pretty good riders. Poole may have signed him as an asset but on a 6.57 average they will get a decent loan fee and more return on their money than when they bought Protasiewicz and he has never returned since.
  6. If James Sarjeant and Nathan Greaves are still draft riders next season then Coventry and wherever Greaves ends up will be a bonus. Steve Worrall also and Paul Starke but think the top four named already are a step or two ahead of the rest. While he may not have been a big scorer Tom Perry didn't do a bad job and showed signs of improvement but needs to gate better.

  8. Bernzton will be 6.00 and Wolverhampton look pretty much sure that Thorssell and Bjerre are the main priorities which comes in at just 16.92 so presuming it is 32.00 again then it leaves 15.08 for the last two. That's just enough for Freddie and PK but that doesn't include a British rider in the main body which points to Woffinden or Cook being the key targets. Signing Cook leaves enough for Harris or Nicholls but Bomber is surely the Coventry first signing but would Nicholls fit in at Belle Vue again ?
  9. Good signing in Wozniak but it is a gamble signing him without knowing the average or limits for next season but would think he has to be at least 5.00. Think Jason Doyle could be a bad move next season now he is in the GP's and a move for Hans Andersen or Kenneth Bjerre would be a better move.
  10. Harris Garrity Howarth Sarjeant Depends what the limits are next season but King and or Woodward would be good for Coventry as a more balanced team usually suits them and those six would be British based. After his remarks on the Internet about his club it would be interesting if alongside Sarjeant at reserve was Nathan Greaves.
  11. Wozniak has to be at least 5.00 assessed and could be even higher being the Polish U21 Champion ahead of the World U21 Champion.
  12. Max Fricke is likely to have another season in the Premier League before joining the Elite League and Poole seem to have a good chance of him with the Torun connection and the Turbo Twins. Garrity could still be a target but with Thorssell and Bernzton likely and Bjerre a target it could be Coventry get their wish and possibly even include Kennett in a deal even if it's on loan. Blackbird and Starke would be a good partnership at reserve but it seems they may be looking at moving one into the main body of the team which should be to help leave room for a high averaging rider at number one. I have heard however that Craig Cook seems to be a possible signing on a full transfer so Wolves may be looking at a more balanced line up like Thorssell Cook Bernzton Bjerre and one more heat leader like Woffinden or Schlein. Blackbird or Starke at reserve with Morris or Perry ?
  13. Without doubt the main reason Poole and Coventry reached the final was the scoring power of the reserves and it has to be evened out in the close season. The best way so far suggested is to have one draft reserve at number seven and the other reserve be a better grade British rider like Garrity Newman or even Auty. Let the number sevens have the easy heats against each other and second strings but the better reserve needs to be tested more.
  14. Forget the rumours of Jason Garrity joining but it could be that the experienced reserve next season or second string draft couo be Lewis Blackbird
  15. A lot will depend on how the Premier League act in 2015 as it looks like they may be looking at bringing in draft riders as well so that would in affect mean Elite League clubs could only track one. They would then look at the top draft riders this season and add others that missed out like Auty Roynon Birks etc to fill the number six position but obviously hold some sort of average. These would be assessed at a reasonable figure to help them adapt and hold a reserve position all season while having more difficult and testing rides which is shown elsewhere in a thread about possible new format for 2015. Will be surprised if the top five have a higher combined average than that of 2014 as many this season have seen heat leaders drop their averages and anything more than 32 would be hard to find if some are not returning.
  16. Wouldn't be surprised to see Craig Cook at Wolverhampton next season as a full time asset from Edinburgh with another rider going in the opposite direction. Would be good if Zagar was to stay in Britain but it does appear that the lure of money in the other leagues along with the GP's and SEC could be a problem for the top riders next season.
  17. Stock Cars are not in the plans for Monmore Green and never will be.
  18. Certainly better than the format used this season which only helped those with more powerful reserves and second strings Ensuring both reserves are British means that a rider like Jason Garrity or Lewis Kerr can be tested better and not be the most important member of the team
  19. USA Greg Hancock - World Champion POLAND Krzysztof Kasprzak - World #2 Jaroslaw Hampel - World #8 Maciej Janowski - Qualifier Piotr Pawlicki - WILD CARD / Qualifier / World U21 Champion DENMARK Nicki Pedersen - World #3 Niels K Iversen - WILD CARD Peter Kildemand - WILD CARD SWEDEN Andreas Jonsson - World #6 Thomas H Jonasson - WILD CARD / Qualifier AUSTRALIA Chris Holder - World #7 Jason Doyle - Qualifier GREAT BRITAIN Tai Woffinden - World #4 Chris Harris - Qualifier SLOVENIA Matej Zagar - World #5 ITALY Nicolas Covatti - first reserve in 2015 Michael Jepsen Jensen and Bartosz Zmarzlik would be unlucky not to be picked but time is on their side and the four named above are worthy of a place in the Series
  20. Oliver Berntzon seems secured along with Jacob Thorssell but Ty Proctor and Ricky Wells have to choose next season if they want Elite League or Premier League if there is still the two leagues and both would probably see the Premier League as the best option. Ricky Wells may opt for the EL if some of the reported names don't return as he has an almost identical record in 2014 as Jacob Thorssell but strangely one is seen as the future while one is looked at as going nowhere fast ? It would be a big surprise if both Garrity and Fricke signed for Wolves and there may be one of those on the short list but I doubt both will be as Lasse Bjerre seems a more likely target for next season.
  21. Well Fredrik Lindgren missed out or messed up his Top 8 finish in the Grand Prix and is pretty down hearted about it at the moment. He may well get a nomination for a Wild Card but that is unlikely and to go into the qualifiers, he has to be niominated by his governing body SVEMO who he hasn't seen eye to eye with this year. However with Stefan Andersson stepping down, he could find the new manager is more forthcoming ? As for Britain, it appears at the moment that is still not in his plans. He still has a property in the midlands but that is not available so he would have to find new lodgings and employ a mechanic over here and somewhere to keep his bikes. Maybe a full season would be ideal for that but with Thursday meetings every week in Sweden, how many would he miss here ? WOLVES 2015 - Oliver Berntzon and Jacob Thorssell the only two you should be safe at naming at the moment but there are a host of 5-6 point riders in the wings, Garrity included and until the AGM takes place we wont know if the Swedish duo are second strings or heat leaders ?
  22. Because Poole may not be able to fit him in
  23. Chris Holder unlikely to return to a full season in the Elite League same as Maciej Janowski Darcy Ward most likely will be banned but even if he escapes further punishment, will he want to ride in a league with possibly no Holder, Woffinden, Pedersen, Kasprzak, Iversen, Zagar etc Shamek Pawlicki could be the #1 next season and Josh Grajczonek the other heat leader. It may appear weak but other teams will be in the same boat with six point riders lining up in heats 13 and 15 each week. Kyle Newman will no doubt be a second string after a great year in the Elite League as a draft rider while in the Premier League he only rode in 13 meetings for Plymouth winning just 10 (+4) races compared to the 52 (+14) in the Elite. If Shamek doesn't return and the #1's are six point riders, could Poole see Lewis Bridger tempted to sign up ?
  24. Next season there is a move in place to have a British rider elevated to the main body of the team and Steve Worrall counts in that group of riders that are being looked at along with Garrity, Newman, Blackbird etc and also Auty, Birks etc that missed out this season. With a number of 8+ averaging riders looking elsewhere in 2015 it would be a surprise if Zagar returns as he is likely to feature more for Piraterna in 2015 and a full season in Britain may well make him think along the lines of Woffinden, Hancock, Kasprzak, Jonsson etc in missing Britain out all together unless there is a dramatic change in fixtures. With the new stadium getting the go ahead and the club already investing in Richie Worrall, it would be a good move to secure a few more young riders as assets like Max Fricke or Craig Cook and should there be less star riders, Cook can develop more in a better format that is more evenly balanced. Even buying Craig Cook would not give Belle Vue first choice on him riding. Poland will release their dates well before Britain and if a Polish club want him there, they won't give a damn about his fixtures here. Coventry seem favourites but only on loan but as he wont be allowed to double up next season, he may well decide on another year in the Premier League
  25. WASHED OUT - NO RE STAGING DATE So the season appears over and what has been a damp squib of a year for the team, fans and management has ended under water. As for Tai, his press release thanking his fans for the support over the season almost reads as a end of season speech. “I’ve learnt a lot from it and I think I can be a better and stronger rider in the future. Right now I need to go away, take stock and look at what I’m doing next year. “I want to thank everyone who has supported me in the past year, going right back to when I won the title last October and those people who believed in me right from when I first started.” Whatever his plans for next season, he will reveal more on Sunday but despite his poor showing in England this season, he still only rode two meetings less than Thorssell and Jacobs and actually had more races than anyone else. The fact he failed to score in 23 races for one reason or another shows how he struggled but also how the format used in 2014 didn't help him when he was at a low.
