Riders Gardening At The Tapes
INCOGNITO replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Riders have to be at the tapes or at least facing the tapes when the two minutes is up and under ppower If they are facing the wrong way or deemed not to be close to the tapes facing the correct way they can be excluded. Understand that Tai's antics were over the top but what Tai did was not during the two minute warning and between heats so it didn't really hold anything up. What is the problem with a rider being at the tapes early to prepare his starting position. This they can still do but must remain on the bike. The problem was riders gardening after the two minutes has expired and riders going back to the pits after a false start. -
Zagar only just stayed above 8 and he missed a number of heat 15 races and only Andersen Doyle Ward and Iversen averaged above 8 last season. It is not easy to score 10 each week in this format .

Riders Gardening At The Tapes
INCOGNITO replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It is fine in principal but if a rider gets to the tapes and is waiting for the other three and gets of his bike to garden the start and gets back on his bike before the others have arrived he is excluded. So they return to the pits and a fresh two minutes has to be put on once the substitute has been named. -
Once Wolves failed to get Tai or Piotr to return they were always going to struggle in finding a suitable second heat leader and no surprise they ended up going with strong second strings. Zengota would have been a good signing and so would Mads Korneliussen but knowing now that they have opted for strength in depth they again have missed out on Mikkel Michelsen who has potential to be a heat leader. Whoever they get for the last place is not going to change the fact they may struggle to score heat wins in the big races and think Lindgren will do well to average over 8 let alone near nine as he is at present Can see changes being made mid season but not title contenders
-
Maciej Janowski must be very pleased after such a good season he now has to sit back and see if he is third or forth in the pecking order. If they don't get Darcy for the season it may be they could look at Gracjzoneck or Milik to return and someone like Gustafsson or Korneliussen but they still have plenty of assets to look at like Bjarne Pedersen or Protasiewicz however Shamek or Magic look best options. Pontus Aspgren has been mentioned and he has been looking at riding in the Elite League and turned down a chance to stay at Somerset. His average should be

With him winding down maybe the thought of Tomasz Gollob on say an 8.00 average would benefit all. He is getting ready to retire and can't be guaranteed a team place every match if he is struggling in Poland so a last blast at Britain where he will be assured of a place every week and create income for the club. He wouldn't be cheap but he may not be scoring loads and the increase in crowds and media interest should finance that. But would he come ?
-
Kylmakorpi would have been a better signing if he is up for the job while Nilsson showed in patches what he could do. Will he be at #2 or #4 as Kennett obviously be the other second string and it depends which one is best suited to being with AJ. Good looking team at home but away ?
-
Pedersen and Bjerre is stronger and more consistent and reliable than PK and Mads as you never know what you get from either. Lasse would along with Tobiasz be the key figures in such a team. Lasse has the beating of riders like Robson Porsing Lambert Howarth Morris Lawson Wozniak Michelsen Kennett and most reserves going by the form he was in last season while Tobiasz could be the star of the show. He is not some hot shot kid that is new to the sport and if he can show anything like the form he has in Poland he could maintain his starting average over the season. There are without doubt stronger looking teams already formed but don't under estimate the mix of youth and experience in what could be a well balanced team and surprise a few critics
-
Or Belle Vue or Coventry or Lakeside or Kings Lynn let alone Poole. Swindon and Leicester the jury is still out
-
Shamek Pawlicki ? Joonas Kylmakorpi ? It does make you think Swindon are hoping for Darcy to be let off more than Poole as their need is greater tha Mr Fords
-
But if it has a problem you would like to know first and have time to prepare for it.
-
Shame Leicester didn't get the rider they wanted and instead another team has stepped in to get him. You lucky people !
-
1 Fredrik Lindgren 2 LASSE BJERRE 3 Tobiasz Musielak 4 Jacob Thorssell 5 BJARNE PEDERSEN 6 Josh Bates 7 Lewis Blackbird Apparently their was another team talking to Bjarne but he has turned them down as he has a better offer. Could that be Wolves ? Lasse will please a few as he was very popular and certainly better than his average suggests.

The announcement on the silencers being allowed to be used next season certainly points towards Peter Karlsson being signed in a hope he can at least be a 7 point rider. The thing is once he moves up to a heat leader status will he be able to get points especially away when up against the big guns in most heats and especially heat 13. Andersen and Harris at Coventry Iversen and Bjerre at Kings Lynn Zagar and Nicholls at Belle Vue Holder and Magic at Poole It is hard to see him scoring much in these heats away and the importance of getting a second heat leader like Woffinden or Pawlicki was or should have been a priority. Pawlicki and Woffinden would have been a respectable pairing but can't see any improvement having Freddie and a six point rider as the top two. Trouble is it was said the big names will come back but apart from Freddie Holder and AJ there has been little movement while the list of riders not returning should be a warning sounded out by Tai last season. Instead of running an Elite League Riders Championship how about a Non ELRC being held with Hancock Kasprzak Pedersen Woffinden Hampel Pawlicki Sayfutdinov Ward Janowski ? Bjarne MJJ etc etc.

Think it would do everyone a favour if Darcy is allowed to ride that he joins Swindon or somewhere other than Poole. See if another promotion will give him everything they do at Poole and make him realise that being at a track that has stood by him so much is very lucky and may make him act accordingly. If Swindon fail in the bid to get a top rider signed up is it wise that teams sign five point riders first and then hope everything else falls into place.

Marmite - Love it or Hate it Expensive product but certainly a product that gets people talking and not too far to travel to get to Leicester but would it not have a sell by date of June 2015 ?
-
What rubbish This post obviously shows you know nothing about it Fast Track reserves don't have averages dohhhh !
-
He may start as a second string but he is just 0.13bbehind Jacob and if Tobiasz Musielak gets a new average after 8 meetings he could easily be the second heat leader by May. Would that be such a good signing then ? He may be a club legend but it should be they either signed PK or signed a new rider and in Tobiasz Musielak they have done that and having both in the team now would leave them as cannon fodder for the likes of Poole Belle Vue and Coventry. Although it is unlikely has anyone thought a rider like Martin Vaculik or Grigory Laguta may be feasible after difficult pay structures in other leagues may make them think about riding over here ?
-
Both are unavailable to sign any way as they are draft riders in Tier A and can be used as guests if required by other EL clubs. Whoever they get as a 3.00 rider should Ward be eligible to sign would only be needed to beat a few reserves but Nico Covatti would be capable of so much more if he comes in on a 3.00 Pawlicki or Gracjzoneck with Pontus Aspgren does seem a decent call if they don't go with Ward and Covatti
-
Have to think that Belle Vue may have been in a better position if they hadn't protected Steve Worrall and instead gone into the draft picks knowing they had an early pick and get a lower ranking rider like Blackbird and then got Sarjeant or Rose in the second pick. This team looks as strong as any other team and possibly the best two second strings in the league with potential to score more than their averages suggests. Top four should be the least they can obtain and if they can't with that team they are doing something wrong
-
More like waiting for the confirmation that Darcy will be banned on January 8th rather than the outcome. Not clear on what the intentions are of Janowski and Pawlicki but they should be in the reckoning leaving just over four points for the last place or more if Gracjzoneck or Milik are included. A few years ago they had Ludvig Lindgren doubling up and were also interested in Pontus Aspgren so either of those could be options or a rookie new foreigner on a 4.00 average that ends the season around 6 as they always seem to do on the south coast
-
If Leicester didn't sign riders that criticised their track they wouldn't field a team and Doyle would be elsewhere already
-
Walasek is up and down in Britain but when he is on form he can beat anyone and should be capable of at least maintaining his average around 6.2 as a second string. Would Swindon not suit him better though ? Sowka was poor at Wolverhampton but it was felt he was under orders to stay injury free as he was a key reserve member of his Polish team and the only meeting he showed what he could really do was when he was unbeaten going into his third ride in which case he got injured. If Wolves could tempt Emil or a respectable heat leader to join they may look to use him themselves but it looks most likely they will possibly be going with Karlsson and Wells to complete their team. Sowka would easily average more than three and if Poole were to get a strong top four then having a rider like Sowka would be ideal. Roynon would not be an option as he agreed to be in the fast track drafts and will or can be used as a guest when required.
