  1. It seems strange that even the teams that are doing well are under the points limit and are in a position to improve their team as the season unfolds and the gap between the top and bottom becomes even bigger. Coventry and Swindon are rumoured to be looking at changes with Darcy Ward possibly coming in to make them even stronger title contenders. Only dramatic changes at Wolverhampton and Lakeside would see them make something of the season and Leicester have made changes too little too late for them to make the top four. However the big problem is still the heat format and averages will continue to lower for many heat leaders and second strings hit big scores. Get back to a more consistent heat format and top teams will show up as the strongest on paper unlike they are now.
  2. So many unpredictable riders in this one but home form should be enough and Lawson as a second string should give him a decent return while Wolves don't know what to expect from Thorssell Musielak and Wells. Lindgren has been poor in some meetings but at least Karlsson will be able to score well in this one and make it look respectable but Hammers to win by 10
  3. This year before the British Grand Prix there is a meeting taking place at the Millennium Stadium featuring 16 British riders behind Closed Doors. Would it not be a good idea to hold the British Final at Cardiff on the Thursday night and then make it a three day holiday for hundreds of Speedway fans while also giving the British riders track experience for the GP. Any reason this can't happen when they are already using it for private test meetings ?
  4. So the views on who Wolverhampton can sign has turned into a Woffinden Kasprzak feed which is weird as neither will be in Wolves colours in 2015. After the World Team Cup is finished then there could be a chance one of the riders in the finals will be at Monmore Green soon after to change the balance of the team and more likely to pick up points away from home.
  5. Lindgren, Karlsson, Bjerre, Musielak and Wells wouldn't be too bad and certainly get better results away from Monmore Green
  6. Darcy Ward will have plenty of offers and will no doubt pick the best deal for him to go with his other commitments and riding on a Monday may not be to his liking and Lakeside being near to Stansted airport would do him fine travelling to Torun straight after meetings. Would they pay that sort of money for his services is a doubt but I am sure Andreas Jonsson won't be cheap and at least Darcy would turn up each week but Kings Lynn have to be favourites. Wolves would then look to Kenneth Bjerre as a new signing and that would make Musielak and Wells second strings giving them a more solid line up for away meetings if Lindgren and Bjerre get back in the points Thorssell could then go to King's Lynn as their replacement for Schlein
  7. Lindgren Pedersen and Kildemand started the season on plus seven averages so that team is illegal. Museliak will be given the chance to show his ability and become an asset and one name that hasn't been listed is Shamek Pawlicki who also rides for Leszno. Comes in on 6.75 and with Freddie and PK would be a strong top three with Ricky staying as a second string
  8. Surprised that Meidzinski is set to return after Leszno fined him for getting injured in Britain and missing their meeting. Kildemand has come in on a short term and would not be surprised if they were to operate r/r after June 18th. Good call by Wolves and Belle Vue to postpone early on and it's a good job they were not on Sky who run the show and take away the positions of staff who know what they are doing.
  9. It would be very interesting to hear what Barry Hearn would do with the sport as he has bought back sports from the brink of death and Speedway in Britain at the top level is struggling to survive as it is. Get an independent review done and a panel of experts and fans to debate with the promoters at the end of the season to try and keep it alive or shut it down and concentrate on lower level racing on or off TV
  10. There are some great adverts on TV each night but this is no way to advertise the sport and tracks should be able to prepare the track as needed and if riders feel it is unsafe the referee should listen
  11. Pawlicki a possible signing but not Piotr
  12. Wet conditions didn't help and the guests did as well as the riders they were replacing but Wolves all round built team were left yet again trying to find heat winners. Five out of fifteen and it is going to be a struggle to win matches but the other difference was Steve Worrall who helped them get ahead.
  13. The option of doubling up riders is looking more and more a thing of the past soon and unless they are reserves then there will probably be no doubling up riders in a few years time. Riders have already been told they can't do more than two years and visa riders can't ride in both leagues. It's ok for the young riders to gain experience at number seven but the more experienced reserves need less protected rides to develop better. As for priority it keeps changing and the best option would be for Elite League tracks to ride on Mondays and Wednesdays and the Premier league on other nights. Then riders won't miss meetings and have the opportunity to gain experience and a better wage.
  14. Think they could be missing out on Milik not returning and I hope he gets a chance elsewhere later in the season. Think they could be missing out on Milik not returning and I hope he gets a chance elsewhere later in the season.
  15. With Museliak at number one it would most likely be Peter Karlsson at number two you would think which means Ricky Wells would be in the crucial heat 14. With Museliak at number one it would most likely be Peter Karlsson at number two you would think which means Ricky Wells would be in the crucial heat 14.
  16. Mads has been approached by three teams that I know of and he has turned them all down as he is not interested in riding over here and Nicolai Klindt has sold all his UK gear and just riding in Denmark and Poland. It could be interesting to see what work riders can find after the closure of some teams in Poland leaving them short of work for 2015.
  17. Everyone expects Magic to be the the back up to Holder but it could be Pawlicki and then when Darcy is clear to ride they are not limited to two seven point riders
  18. Kacper Gomolski would be a bargain on such a low average especially when you consider the format now being used is much easier than the last time he was here and only 19. Along with Maciej Janowski they would complete a very powerful top five and I can't see how Darcy Ward and a three point reserve being as productive as they could be so why should they wait for Ward ? Along with Kings Lynn and Belle Vue they look to have five very capable riders in the right position
  19. Magic to return then by the look of it which is possibly the best option any way and gives them more options for the othr With Australian visa riders unable to double up who would be likely to be included around 4.5
  20. Riding at number 5 away may be best for a team using one main rider like Wolves are doing with Lindgren as the rides are well spaced out and you would need him in heat 13. It looks like Jacob would be best at number 1 if Lindgren was used elsewhere and maybe PK at number 2 as they would be partners twice. Can't see it being anything other than Fredrik Lindgren at number one though as Pete Adams has always said how important it is to get off to a winning start but what would that do if the next five heats are without him riding agsin.
  21. Riders are paid a set amount for the kevlars and the rider often gets his own done. If they cost more than in the budget then the rider pays the excess. After years of questionable business Mick Horton has certainly seemed to have been doing everything spot on at Coventry and hopefully he can help get them to the new track in 2017. Very good business in swapping Kennett for Garrity and fielding a team that are available in all the matches. It also gives Garrity the chance to now get a new Premier league track during the season if he wants without affecting Coventry. Well done Bees you have a good set up this year and hope to see that continue in years to come at a new venue when the time comes. . ...... never saw the last few posts !!
  22. Wolverhampton will only do as well as their heat leaders do and that looks on paper as their weak point. Lindgren will find it hard to be a nine point rider and earned a good number of his points from the back at Monmore Green. With the current format that is going to be hard to do while Tobiasz Musielak and Jacob Thorssell are potential heat leaders but will also find it tough. Peter Karlsson and Ricky Wells are very good second strings but it is likely they will swap positions through the season and whoever is in the heat leader roles in the harder races. If the second strings and reserves can get 20 points between them can the top three score 26 ? Going to be a very tough season ahead for them and the mid season break will determine how they finish. If they are falling short changes would have to be made but if they are going well then they are obviously proving people wrong. Being good at home but is not going to be enough and away points will be vital.
  23. That is part of the plan with the fast track riders who they hope like Garrity will move up eventually. However before that is the hope riders like Craig Cook Richard Lawson or established Premier League riders that double up will look at moving up next season. Kennett Lawson and Birks missing matches will play havoc for Lakeside while Coventry now have priority over all their riders in this year's team.
  24. I don't think anyone would be critical of Peter Karlsson but more about the balance and strength of the top five with only one recognised heat leader and question marks about the overall form of the other four especially away. They could shock a few on their day but to have 28 of those days is very unlikely
  25. Think the format is vital to be known before any signings as a team needs to be balanced with the format to get the best results. Fans maybe don't need to know but teams should know from day one so if they did know from November it would be no need to keep it quiet to the paying public
