If the Stadium is being used for other ventures and sports, why would the speedway be responsible for repaying all the £8 million over 24 years. Surely before the first brick was laid and in the numerous talks in the build up to it being built, surely someone would have seen the figures involved in rent and running costs and along with wages worked out that it was never going to be manageable to run a minority sport like speedway. If no one during the build up to construction never realised that then they can't be much in business unless they saw it as a way of getting money in and doing a runner blaming others for the problems including the landlords they never paid all year long and then try and sue for loss of potential earnings. The earnings they sold in advance and never repaid to many customers.m

Another problem Belle Vue could have is doubling up riders. Both Worralls will want to double up and Cook also at Peterborough as would Joe Jacobs want to do both and should he return, Scott Nicholls could be looking at that too if allowed although rumour is he is possibly joining Rye House and a return to Ipswich. Maybe a use of assets is cost effective so both Worrall's and Hougaard as the top three but while we look at who is going to be in the team, it's more important to find someone willing to take the club over, get back in the stadium and then find a way of paying the crazy amount of money to run the club week in week out with high wages and even higher rent. Best move for Belle Vue as a club is to move next door

10.01 Hans Andersen 9.02 Brady Kurtz 7.56 Davey Watt 7.16 Jack Holder 6.31 Kyle Newman 5.76 Todd Kurtz 4.00 Dan Bewley Good number one and all familiar with Poole apart from Dan Bewley who could be tempted to join Poole as another asset for the Poole promotion for future years. Is Chris Harris a possible though or is he joining Wolverhampton ?

How about once a rider has ridden 8 home and 8 away meetings his average is from those meetings and at the end of the season what he averages is his average and doesn't include meetings from the previous season. Even if they have ridden 18 or 28 meetings the average for the following year needs to be what they did in one season. As for this season coming and the inflated or weakened averages because of the format used, I think in some cases it needs recalculating. Take Adam Ellis who averaged a creditable 5.60 for Poole which should be moved to 7.84 which seems a bit high and think 6.50 or 7.00 would be more appropriate. Then you have Nicolai Klindt who did a great job for Leicester and averaged 6.36 which becomes 8.90 however he has a average with Scunthorpe from the start of the season of just 5.42 which is the figure that should be used next season. However one is too high and one is too low so a more realistic figure would be 7.00

Don't think he would want to go back to Leicester unless he had to after waiting months to get paid. While it's interesting to see posts saying who they would like to see in the team or just who fits in, you have to know first who is going to be allowed to double up and who isn't. There is no EDR in 2017 and these were doubling up riders plus teams also had another two doubling up riders in the main body of the team. Are teams going to be allowed four doubling up riders next season ? if so how many times are you going to have a full team unavailable due to clash of fixtures. Teams listed above by posters have Masters, Klindt, Clegg, Howarth, Harris etc listed but surely these are all looking to double up next season. If the likes of Cook, King, Harris, Nicholls etc are going to be allowed to double up it would mean Premiership teams are likely to be full of riders riding in both leagues. Shouldn't this option be available to the riders like Bates, Jacobs, Clegg etc in order to get track time and progress rather than lining the pockets of riders who could or should be looking at getting extra meetings abroad rather than being a heat leader in both levels. Then we have to know are GP riders being allowed back or what restrictions are riders going to have to face if they have signed with a Polish club like Freddie and Jacob have and Masters also rode there last season scoring well. Fifty points even with the inflated averages is quite high when you consider the riders that could be missing from last season and there will be some bargains to pick up which Wolves already have a head start in with Masters, Klindt and Clegg having PL averages lower than their recalculated EL averages. Fredrik Lindgren - If GP riders are allowed he will be the ideal number one on 10.09 Jacob Thorsell - Very good chance he will be back and starting at number 5 at 9.88 Sam Masters - If he can double up a must at 8.88 rather than the calculated 10.02. If he can't double up think he may move up Max Clegg - Can't see any formula where he wouldn't be included and good at 4.04 Those four come in at 32.89 which is a decent 17.11 left for second strings and another reserve.
-
With Sweden, Poland and the GPs plus weekend meetings, Freddie Lindgren on 10.09 could be seen as a no go and I'm sure Jacob Thorssell will be getting interest from Poland which could hamper him returning but he loves it at Wolves and is almost one of the Adams family so he should be back as the top rider. Will Sam Masters be allowed to double up again as it seems crazy to let riders be top men in the two levels and doubling up should be there to develop riders not keep the stronger riders in the bigger pay packets. If Wolves can get him they would have two improving riders to lead the team and if Bomber joined it would be a great top three. Ricky Wells could do a decent job on an average under eight but if the rules state that a rider with a 2016 PL average must use that, surely Nicolai Klindts average of 5.42 at Scunthorpe would be a bargain and Max Clegg would have to return after improving so much and has a PL average of 4.04 which is lower than his EL average. Thorssell, Masters, Wells, Klindt and Clegg should be around 39 leaving about eleven for the last two places and a decent foundation to build on if they can secure another 6-8 point heat leader / second string and another reserve.

Are these the contractors they have no say over and it's not their fault That doesn't cover half of the rent money ! Tracks should have a committed crew and yes they do get paid but look at Doc Bridgett at Edinburgh and Wolverhampton looking after two great tracks and won track of the year more than anyone. He has a great team at both tracks and most are volunteers but he would deserve that sort of pay for doing two tracks in two countries. With the money owed, would anyone stepping in be expected to pay off the debt as that would be a deal killer and Speedway can't run at a venue where the rent is more than the income and pay wages to top level riders. Great stadium, but it's too expensive for Speedway in Britain and for financial reasons they need to move next door or look elsewhere sadly

Most In-demand Riders For The 2017 Season
INCOGNITO replied to poolebolton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Depends if Britain keep the top riders. The talk is now they are using PL assessed averages for next season (seems a bit weird) then riders like Doyle and Iversen clearly won't fit or be in the plans just like the other GP riders or the like. Didn't Poole buy him this season ? What's the luck about a teenager getting his career planned out and making himself available. Flying out for practice rides and putting himself in the shop window which worked and he has been in Poland every year since. Credit where credit is due rather than luck -

They were talking about six man teams next season so if that happens it would be a new race format any way. If not then the race format certainly needs changing back to the old format and have one reserve riding at number seven who is protected and stays there all season. This should be a NL draft with a average no more than four. If there is to be a cull on the top riders you will have riders like Lambert, Cook, Masters and King as number one riders and with Poland and Denmark looking to restrict riders to limited leagues, Britain would be low down on the list for many riders if they have contracts already in other countries. While not having riders like Doyle, Iversen, Lindgren, Holder and Jonsson etc riding in Britain would be a blow, it would promote more spaces for British riders lower down and make the current top British riders much more vital and prolific to teams but must question if they would be allowed to double down if they are number one riders in the Elite League. -

Back at Swindon replacing Doyle probably and keeping the Aussie theme going -
Most In-demand Riders For The 2017 Season

Unlikely to see any foreign riders over a seven average next season apart from Sam Masters and GP riders look like being left out as they ride Sweden, Poland and GPs and Britain need more committed and available riders to get Britain less trapped by what's happening elsewhere. Most attractive riders will be those that have been here before, not done great but looking for a regular team place like Adam Skornicki, Tobiasz Musielak etc -
It could be Masters and Harris leading the Wolves team next season if Thorssell gets a Polish team and rides in Sweden on a Tuesday and Thursday too and Lindgren being one of the riders named on the list that will be prevented from riding here.
-
List not including those unlikely to feature next season makes it interesting to see who will be allowed to double up next season and the strength of the Elite League next season without GP riders and top names
-
Would think riders like Sam Masters, Craig Cook, Daniel King etc would have to decide which league they want to ride in as they could be the number one rider in either league if a number of top riders are prevented or choose not to race here next season. There is a few rumours going around that NO GP riders will be in Britain next season plus riders like Andreas Jonsson or Krzysztof Kasprzak so riders like Kasters and Cook surely wouldn't be in the Premier and Elite League and doubling up should be for the riders like Jacobs, Bates, Clegg, Sarjeant etc.
-
It possibly just needs moving to the Premier League section
-
To cut costs and also to counter act the moves being put in place in Poland, Britain are looking to stop all GP riders from riding in the Elite League and any rider that has a high average or a recent foreign GP rider like Andreas Jonsson or Peter Kildemand so next season it's unlikely you will see Doyle, Iversen, Zagar, Jonsson, Holder, Kasprzak or Lindgren if this goes ahead. This is also to help some tracks move up to the Elite League with Somerset, Sheffield, Rye House, Glasgow and Edinburgh being asked to join the Elite League and possibly three of those making the switch. This would mean riders like Harris, Cook, Lambert and King would be the main top riders along with Masters and Thorssell. If this does happen and it's very likely to go somewhere along those lines, Sam Masters and heat leaders wouldn't be possibly be allowed to double up as they would be a number one in both leagues, so riders doubling up would more be the likes of Max Clegg, Joe Jacobs, Stefan Nielsen and could see the number seven rider being a National League draft. So the Wolves team could be something along the lines of Jacob Thorssell, Chris Harris, Tobiasz Musielak, Gino Manzares, Ashley Morris, Max Clegg and Matt Williamson. Maybe not looking that strong, but they would all be along the same strengths and at least it gives more scope for British riders

Last year the BSPA held a forum in Rugby shortly after the AGM and despite not a great attendance they were keen to repeat it, possibly even before the AGM to get views and ideas. Is there going to be a forum arranged and if so, When and Where ?
-
Will Coventry be back at Brandon next season ? Will there be an Elite League ? Will they look at moving down ? Get those three questions answered and along with waiting to see which riders will ride here if Poland have their way and then start looking at who will be in the team but it's going to be hard to attract riders if they are concerned about being paid.

Which Average Is Used For Team Building?
INCOGNITO replied to BurntFaceMan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
A guest a home only as away guests have to be upto their actual average at the time of the meeting. -
Every club has riders that will go down in history as a club legend and PK will be amongst a great bunch at Wolverhampton. From Ole Olsen, Finn Thomsen, Hans Nielsen, Sam Ermolenko, Ronnie Correy, Graham Jones, Mikael Karlsson-Max, Fredrik Lindgren, Adam Skornicki and now Tai Woffinden he is a hero at Monmore Green. He never had the image of a speedway rider and you'd never guess he could be so hard a rider when you spoke to him with his Nordic Black Country accent. His accent is pure Swedish and then mixed in the sentence is a true BC term like How Am Ya. He has scored more points than any other Wolves rider and more appearances than anyone else too. It's a shame he never quite reached the heights of others on the individual stage but he was more of a team player and showed that at Belle Vue in the second leg when Kyle Howarth appeared on his bike to gain a crucial second place. It says something about the calibre of the man when two of his main mechanics over the years have been former riders and team mates in Paul Hurry and Graham Jones. His farewell at Monmore Green in March is going to be a great meeting and possibly the biggest crowd at the Stadium for many a year to say goodbye to a true gentleman and model professional.

Chris Holder has stated he wants to stay riding for Poole if he can and there lies the foundation of any Poole team that is being planned for next season. The key part is IF HE CAN. Poland are going to make, not try to make riders choose just one other league to ride in and they seem determined to make this happen so riders like Chris Holder, Hans Andersen etc may well have to think twice about riding here. Plus if many of this calibre of rider are going to be forced to miss out Britain, you will be lookin at teams built with number ones on six point averages. So while there are posts about KK, Holder, Andersen etc you need to look at riders like Brady Kurtz and Jack Holder first to joi Adam Ellis and Kyle Newman. These four could be the backbone to a Poole team or it could be the top four riders and until it's clear what is going on with riders that have contracts in Poland, you can't really look much further.
-
Almost certainly in the Premier League with lower costs and wages they can afford They can and have ridden in the Premier League and every likely hood that there will be a few in there next year with Adam Skornicki looking to ride in England and mainly be based here. Welcome to the Mushroom Club Kept in the dark and fed manure

No they didn't The so called British League Cup they ran was Elite League teams against Premier League teams and there was a vast difference in quality. Same as when they tried promotion and relegation play offs, the Elite League team despite finishing bottom ran riot over the Premier League champions who then were the best team and not play off winners. The Premier League team didn't want to go up and the Elite League club didn't want to go down and was a pretty pointless scheme, but here you have ALL tracks lining up at the same strength competing in one big league giving it more variety. Yes this was tried before but the big difference then was they tried to give the lower league teams a few better riders, thus increasing their costs. Here the Elite clubs are coming down to their level so everyone is more balanced and it creates more spaces for British riders st National League level to get regular races at two levels and a view on how to progress instead of making up the numbers and labelled with false averages. The whole point is Britain can't afford to run an Elite League with twenty plus fixtures, especially when most of the teams are made up of Premier League riders any way. The top level needs improving and the best way of doing that is a regular race night and less fixtures run at regular intervals so when one team has ridden eight meetings, so have the rest.
