  1. The main difference is that Miedzinski was an important part of Swindon's plans for 2012 and had a team place on offer to him, The same cannot be said for Batchelor at Boro as they had already signed Sundstrom and would not be looking to use both. Andersen has had a team place offered to him, but more of a gesture to force the issue rather than genuine, depending of course on which side of the story to believe. Kenny Bjerre has always been first choice there. As CR has pointed out, the other fundamental difference is the scope for improvement on a starting average.
  2. 5ish average to 8+ average and maintaining an 8 point average. Hopefully it'll all get sorted in the end [
  3. Screamers opening line started with "Waiting on official confirmation", so no not really. I do feel that going into a 3rd season loan with the same Club, thought should have been given to purchasing Niels over Rory. Too late to reverse that now I guess?
  4. None of this has actually been defined anywhere, only mentioned by one Promotion so far. I would imagine (said with hope) that a full statement will be made at some point by BSPA to make things clearer, but I'm under the impression that a list has been agreed to already with 7.33 being the cut off
  5. Schlein on 7.33 is 20th on the list apparently
  6. No he won't - it's the top 20 as it is. It won't extend as riders drop out, the reasoning being that not every Club will want to use 2 out of the top 20. Reading the Adver, looks like Swindon would like to keep Hans & Batch as well. With Boro already having signed Sundstrom and with Bjerre/Harris likely to be their other one it could mean Swindon are able to track the same top 3 that they ended last season with. Here's hoping.
  7. You might find noggin was laughing, or at least a very broad smile - he's a Swindon fan
  8. There were actually only two pull outs last season (Batchelor & Kymlakorpi if memory serves me correct) and both were dealt fairly hefty fines. It was a really good meeting last season with a top line-up. Of course there were similar comments to yours on the build up to the meeting as in years past it seems to have gone that way, but the show that was put on in 2011 seemed to give the event its credibility back. The line-up was superb, the presentation was excellent, the racing was top drawer and the crowd was massive. More of the same this time around please Ward Andersen Schlein
  9. Killer is an asset I believe, and Nick Morris belongs to Glasgow, not Coventry. A lot can happen in a winter, I think most Robins fans were worried through the last winter that we would not have a genuine number 1 - then Hans and Batch fell into our laps.
  10. Would that be a similar 5-6 point rider valuation that they paid for Darcy Ward who joined on a 4.56 average? If so then I'm sure it would have been accepted
  11. I'm fairly sure that there is an 8 day rule applicable to an away teams choice of guest - so DW would be correct in that they cannot use anyone from Ipswich, Rye House or Leicester.
  12. Looking forward to this one, let's hope Steady gets a good turnout. He's put together a good line-up and has been loyal to the Robins throughout. Here's to a cracker
  13. You must be confused. I mean in terms of stature, not length of name
  14. Could think of some bigger names than Sullivan if that was the case
  15. Fairly confident that it is the first sunday of the season, with only the Ben Fund meeting being allowed to take place before 15th March to avoid any clashes
  16. As the first Sunday of the Speedway season, I think Swindon may have had the date set for some time, I believe there was even reference to it in a programme last season. An unfortunate clash, lets hope that both meetings draw a good crowd
  17. I think Zodiak's comment was pretty spot on, and as has been said, the Birmingham fans and Kings Lynn fans have enjoyed the NsEL as you put it, and Ipswich fans seemed to have enjoyed the nothingPaboutitL. Everyone's a winner. Has Sedgmen been mentioned as a possible signing for the Witches anywhere? A talented rider who needs to be full time in PL to get his confidence back, I reckon a good Club like Ipswich would be ideal for him for 2012
  18. A fsntastic meeting raced in front of a fantastic crowd. The ELRC has had plenty of criticism over the last few years, and this years event took plenty of criticism before a wheel had been turned. This was one of the best race meetings I've seen for some time on a well prepared race track. For those that were saying that the riders do not care for this meeting or make any effort, you obviously forgot to tell Rory Schlein or Chris Harris to take it easy! Would have liked to have seen Scotty win it after the season both he and Swindon have had, but Rory has had a great season and won the trophy in superb fashion, so well done Rory. Presentation was also pretty slick last night, so well done to all involved
  19. I'm starting to come round to your way of thinking now, without the need for a long trip! Yes it's £25, but it's 22 heats, and fewer withdrawals than I expected. Actually looks a decent line up. It's a long winter
  20. I'm certainly not disagreeing on the price side of things, just feel that they may have made a rod for their own backs with the pricing at earlier events in lower leagues
