  1. Hans & PK hoping to be back with the Robins with Hans saying that it looks like there is a bright future at Swindon: http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/speedway/10771197.Danish_duo_eye_Robins_return/
  2. I was only messing TWK. My point being that Clubs aren't hamstrung by the authorities, they are hamstrung by contracts that they have entered into and have been readily paid for.
  3. I sense you're easily angered? Sky hold the TV & Online rights to British Speedway in the UK as I understand, so it would be that contract that prevents the showing of races on a website, not GSI's.
  4. Why's that, it will still be the UK's top league. Premier League's name has not changed
  5. It's the same as it has been for the last 2 years so no real surprise. It's a long winter!
  6. I think many had similar thoughts when a televised meeting went up against what was practically a title decider a couple of seasons ago between Man City and Man Utd. I hear the viewing figures for the speedway were a pleasant surprise, so stranger things have happened
  7. The covers are B.S.P.A's not Ronnie Russell's. They also cannot be laid days and days in advance of a meeting. With the rain that Birmingham has had over the last 2-3 days there's nothing the covers could have done. Having them down for that long in advance would end up doing more harm than good to a track
  8. If you're actively seeking 'hard objective facts', why not try asking the insurance company responsible for covering Speedway injuries if they have any info that they are able to share. Just because you cannot 'find' proof does not mean that the proof is not there.
  9. Couldn't agree more, Playoff nights are fantastic, I'm even tempted to come down for this one despite having been knocked out by your mob. The price argument comes up each and every year, there are always those who feel they are being ripped off.
  10. I don't think you've read it wrong, but I sense a hint of sarcasm within post 294
  11. Of course the weather is one of Speedway's biggest enemies, and had the contract been up at the end of 2012 then I'd agree. But in 2013 only one televised meeting has been lost to the weather where the covers were down and in place but there was no sign of a break in the rain
  12. Off the top of my head I'd go with decent viewing figures, flexibility to show a Live meeting to fit Sky's schedule (we've had Mon/Tues & Wednesday's this season), relatively cheap (apparently) compared to other sports for a channel that claims to be 'the home of Live Sport', and finally, to prevent BT Sport getting their hands on it.
  13. Agreed, I think THJ is crucial tonight. If he puts in a performance that most know he is capable of then it will give Poole every chance. If not then I can't see Poole getting close
  14. That's what is fascinating about this tie. I honestly believe we are capable of going to Poole and taking the win on the night. But I also know Poole are capable of hauling back 8 points by heat 12 making for a very exciting finale!
  15. This would suggest not - http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/2892/gollob-update
  16. Care to share a name or Club that this relates to? Twitter is yet another good promotional tool if used in the correct way, unfortunately there are always those who type quicker than they can think!
  17. Both meetings will be postponed if either of the above face weather problems? Do they move on to the next Sunday in that case?
  18. The full video of last weeks meeting is still on there, in the 'Live' section. I wondered it myself, but it seems all On Demand & Live action will appear in the Live section
  19. Both?! Belle Vue v Poole is being shown Live on Sky. Swindon v Lakeside is being shown to those that attend the Abbey Stadium on the same night
  20. It's not being shown on Sky, but the meeting date of Mon 9th September remains.
  21. He said it as a possibility if Swindon are not on Sky - they're certainly not choosing to not be on Sky
  22. But the odds will be in favour of this meeting being the one where Poole claim their Playoff place
