Far from being in cloud-cuckoo land as you've so politely put it, I am aware of what individual betting companies will pay for other minority sports - the figure I've stated is far from unrealistic. 8-10 individual companies, who knows. But you can be sure that others are keeping an eye on whether Bet365 keep things going as they're hardly likely to continue if they're making no money from it. It usually needs one bookmaker to get others attention.
-
Whilst I can't see it bringing millions into the sport, I don't think it's unrealistic to envisage 8-10 bookies Worldwide to be paying £500 per meeting each. In my view that would compensate a few times over for those that would have gone but chose to watch the stream instead. I'm sure figures are traceable by those in control but I'd hazard a guess that 85% - 90% of those watching the streams were never likely to be going to the relevant meeting in the first place.
-
Would you not think that this is the long term aim as it seems a fairly obvious one to me. This is the first season with the streaming - bookies are not all just going to pick up an unproven product and pay for it. I would imagine this is the first season of proving the product and figures and a 'foot through the door' on other bookies. The fact that the deal is with ATR and the stream through Bet365 shows that it is intended to sell on to several. Short term pain for hopefully a long term gain.

Swindon V Leicester 05/06/2014

Plenty of rain the day before is usually the best preparation providing the day of the meeting is dry. No better way of watering the track evenly -
Birmingham V Swindon Mon 2nd June
Reliant Robin replied to Brummie Kev's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think this will be a close one and could go either way. Zmarzlik is an exciting prospect, Brummies will need him to hit the ground running to take the points. Think the Robins could edge this by 2-4 points in the final few heats with Kildemand & Batchelor both loving Perry Barr -
Of course it's ok with me, all about personal opinion I guess
-
You class Patchett as a loss? Thought he'd left the Club in a complete state for Tony Mole & Graham Drury to pick up the pieces? Think Phil Morris is a big loss to the Brummies...seems a popular character all round and knows the sport inside out.

Swindon - Leicester Now June 5th
Reliant Robin replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Forecast looking considerably better than previously, fingers crossed we'll get to see some racing tonight. Should be an entertaining meeting with the return of Mads & Doyley. We need all 3 points tonight -
Think the 1st two should be ok - 8th August is Danish Final 2nd Leg anyway, so we'd at least be entitled to a guest for that one
-
I can't see any other clashes with SEC meetings in the Swindon calendar

Fairly sure it's correct

Lakeside V Kings Lynn 19 May El A Sky Match
Reliant Robin replied to Vincent Vega's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Nah, think Tatum just does it for the sake of it, been the same for years. Fair play to Kings Lynn, good comeback there.....and all with R/R for Bjerre -
Granted it wouldn't be any worse, but it certainly wouldn't be much better! Signing Kennett would be like admitting the Playoffs aren't going to happen this season....at which point I'd much rather see a new, young rider brought into the Club with the future in mind. We're one rider short of being a pretty handy side home and away - 4th spot isn't out of the question looking at the meetings we've had....but need to start picking points up quickly. 5 points from our last 3 away meetings - people would have taken that going into them, it's just the manner in which we've dropped a couple of points that is the problem.

Wolves V Swindon... 12th May
Reliant Robin replied to dump that clutch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Couldn't agree more re Kennett and wouldn't want him in as a replacement for SG. If money was no object, I still don't see who could come in. An untried foreigner perhaps? Pavlic? I personally don't think money is the issue here, it's a restrictive points limit that is in place not leaving much scope for any changes once a season is underway. -

Reliant Robin replied to dump that clutch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'd imagine that's because it isn't a game of Fantasy Speedway. Excuses will soon run out for him, needs a couple of decent scores on the bounce, but yet to see any ideas on a better replacement. -
King's Lynn V Swindon 14/05/14 Sky Meeting
Reliant Robin replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
47-43 to the Stars - backing us to take a point. Batch & Kildemand always good value at Lynn - a track that suits Morris & Dak and hopefully Worrall can continue his form, albeit up against a strong reserve pairing for Lynn -
I'd take Gustafsson over either of those two. Unless there becomes enough scope to bring in Zengi then best off with what we have - signs of improvement from him are already there and barring a big mistake in 14 at Coventry his score would have been decent. Of the list you posted there is nobody on there that would improve the team. Edited to add - Greaves looks a decent prospect but one for the future...certainly don't expect him to score points from the off, but if he's on the pace and maybe nicking 2 or 3 points from the reserve races then it's a step in the right direction, I hope fellow Robins fans give the lad a chance

Coventry V Swindon 9th May
Reliant Robin replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Just toying with them! Fantastic all round performance with PK & Batch once again coming up with the goods when it matters. Special mention for Stevie Worrall, likeable lad and great to see him going so well. -
Swindon - Birmingham 5.5.14
Reliant Robin replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Season Ticket holders get the whole meeting again when re-arranged. Those that paid £10 last night need to pay £10 again to see the meeting (£20 for 22 heats) -

Swindon - Birmingham 5.5.14
Reliant Robin replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Normally £1 per race off up to meeting result i think - so £1 off for heats 8,9 and 10 - something like that anyway. Don't seem to have much luck with the weather! -

I think that's the majority of them done - one more in May and one in August to be missing. -
Lakeside V Swindon - Elb 25/04/14
Reliant Robin replied to Mjolnir's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The fixtures were originally more spaced out...but when Batchelor got a call up to the GP, Swindon were able to re-arrange the latter to and earlier date to prevent a clash. Can't see Swindon getting anything from this one, hopefully Bjarne & PK can come up with the goods and the middle order can all weigh in to get a point...maybe wishful thinking! -

Looks like Worrall is in for the Poole v Swindon meeting in the morning before flying up to Edinburgh to be there in the evening. Good commitment from him, nice to see http://www.swindonrobins.co/news.php?extend.2172 -

Let's hope it's just a precaution, as you say he's been showing some good progress so far this year. EDIT: just read elsewhere that Kyle has posted nothing broken, so good news
