  1. Or a re-arrangement for Thurs 23rd June if both teams are available?
  2. I agree, it seems a heavy one and I'm sure DH will have his own version of events. The worry is that this has escalated from a £300 fine on the night (back in April) and has just been ignored by DH ever since. If he continues to ignore it then I can't see it ending well unfortunately. Attending the hearing could have been the first step towards a resolution.....I guess we'll never know. Fingers crossed that something can be sorted.
  3. Surely David Helmsley is responsible for his own actions? If Leicester go out of business then it will only be him to blame. Hopefully this can be resolved for the better and it doesn't come to that.....but that may require Mr Helmsley making an effort to resolve the situation....failing to turn up for the hearing is hardly going to help matters
  4. http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.29764
  5. Or the Poole meeting being re-arranged by the looks of things ;-)
  6. I quite enjoyed it to be honest, was hoping to get down to Poole but finishing late put paid to that and so thought I'd watch this one. One of the better meetings I've seen from Lakeside.
  7. Looks like round and round we go.....I would suggest this is the main reason for early call offs in the first place as when an attempt is made to get a wet meeting on there's nobody there to watch it barring the real hardcore.
  8. KING’S LYNN: Freddie Lindgren, Mads Korneliussen, Robert Lambert, Kai Huckenbeck, Troy Batchelor, Carl Wilkinson, Lewis Rose. SWINDON: Jason Doyle, Charles Wright, Rohan Tungate, Nick Morris, Josh Grajczonek, Justin Sedgmen, Stefan Nielsen. Freddie is riding well but there are not many that can match NKI around Saddlebow http://www.swindonrobins.co/news.php?extend.2679
  9. There's a line at times between being honest and antagonising. A simple "The track wasn't how we're used to it, we didn't turn up on the nights we needed to" and possibly an apology/admission might have gone down better than what came across (whether he's right or not) as a "didn't fancy it, like it or lump it". That said, I think he's a worthwhile signing and will do well for the Stars. Would have had him back at Swindon as on the whole he's scored well enough and maintained heatleader position in the race format as it is. Just lets himself down on occasion Looking ahead to this match, I'd like to think we'll take another Elite League point or two on a track which should suit our team.
  10. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't. That said, I'm much more likely to spend my £17 if Buzz & Hans are there than if they were replaced by a couple of 6 pointers
  11. Whilst it does help Poole (Andersen & Buczkowski missing as I understand) the alternative was to run the meeting with 2 x 6pt PL riders in their place. If a change like this can be accommodated then fair play to both sides for switching it. And a Bank Holiday at 4pm should pull in some numbers if the weather is kind
  12. Would the fact that Ronnie Russell wasn't even there last night lead to any kind of retraction? How about the fact that you are 100% incorrect about him simply being put in charge of the drainage at Swindon...he still has full responsibility for the track at Swindon (whether that's good or bad is up for debate!). Your post is completely made up rubbish (other than perhaps the last paragraph, I don't know much about that one)
  13. Definitely not the same chap....Swindon's Mike Bowden is a former Director at Swindon Town
  14. And one of those is bound to be a 'reserved' date!
  15. Can see tonight being a close encounter but one in which the Robins need and should be coming away with 3 points in the bag...but can see Wolves sneaking a point. Better from Rohan last night, Sedgie showed some fight at the end....so if Josh & Nick can continue their Abbey showings from a couple of weeks ago then should be all good. 48-42
  16. And vice-versa I'd imagine. Weather starts being spoken about across social media days in advance of a meeting....the negative outlook and knowing they would be racing in front of half of their usual crowd will play a part in calling a meeting off.
  17. If you were in Swindon I think you'd agree it is the right call. Why race in wet conditions in front of a small crowd when there is a spare Thursday the very next week?
  18. I also have Wolves down as dark horses and think they will make the Playoffs this year with Poole, Belle Vue and hopefully Swindon! Perhaps they're not so dark after all!! Can't see Swindon coming away with anything from this one. Potential is there in the Swindon line-up but I think it may take a few more meetings before a couple of them are firing on all cylinders. Wolves have only had one meeting so far though, so we have that in our favour....but going on that one meeting they're looking decent enough
  19. Bates was almost certain to miss meetings at Blunsdon as he rides for a Thursday PL track, so no real surprise there. Kasprzak missing should have been picked up by the Coventry management and an attempt to switch with someone without clashes made. They should have picked it up in the original draft fixtures.
  20. Swindon riders all available on day arranged. Poole agree to take the date.....have a look at the International Fixture List which is supposed to show all fixtures happening.....no mention of Polish Golden Helmet so why wouldn't they. Then realise Buczkowski would be missing and so Swindon agree to take the date back out. Fail to see how Swindon are at fault. Or for the Swindon v Coventry clash....again, all Swindon riders are available. I wonder if Coventry tried to change the fixture once the clash became apparent.
  21. You'll find that the inclusion of online rights within a broadcast deal is becoming much more frequent. The value of these deals is within the exclusivity, and with viewing as easy as it is online nowadays, these rights are often combined...... As you have said, a deal was needed to prop up the EL, and as a sport it hardly has the negotiating power of Premier League football in being able to lay out demands or restrict rights.
  22. From a conversation I've had with someone that would 100% know what can and cannot be done, footage on the host Clubs website is allowed (a restricted amount)....but only on their website.....not on Youtube etc, but will obviously end up being shared etc through the usual channels. It seems things aren't quite as restrictive as people like to think
  23. What people so often fail to grasp is that British Speedway has a TV deal for exclusive rights....without which there would be no such thing as an Elite League (some may view that as a good thing). Clubs are able to put racing clips onto their website, these come via a DVD company who are permitted (by the Club) to film the meetings....something that I would assume the video company pays for, and if not then the Club will make money from DVD sales. It has become easier and easier for people to be able to record and/or live stream, but to do so won't entice people in (mostly poor footage from the grandstand/terraces on a mobile phone) but is more likely to hit Clubs themselves in the pocket imho. It's going to be impossible for Clubs to prevent it completely, but I don't understand the want or need for someone to go out of their way to do it. Whilst I agree it shouldn't be a closed shop, races on websites shared via social media has to look better than some bit of footage from a mobile phone in terms of enticing people in?
