  1. Where did i once say it had to clash with a Polish league meeting ?, i did say Sundays would be preferable, maybe you should read what is posted rather than just picking holes in it.
  2. Like has been done then plan it so it doesnt clash , there is no excuse fo missing it IMO.
  3. That's a poor point mate for one , it will be the same riders at Sheffield so you could easily get the same fiasco and second more important, think to the last time Sheffield was on Sky for a riders championship , whats to stop that from happening again. Fuel Girls, like i say that's the move to get them back in there thousands. Maybe just maybe ok, first and foremost this is what i would try and change. First thing, the E.L.R.C should be in a riders team contract, that the rider should be there it should be there number one commitment when they sign for a team in this country. The only reason they shouldn't be there is if they have a B.S.P.A picked Doctors line. Fans of speedway want to see the best riders at the E.L.R.C we haven't had that guarantee for years, its hard to support an event that riders don't. Basic things like that need to be put in place before any thing like Fuel Girls are. Promoters should be made to run at least one bus to the meetings, whether they fill it or not is open to debate , but i am sure any Reading or Peter borough fan would agree on the affect it had on the Play Off Final. I might get slated for this , but if you want to do something different, i would have designated team areas, which the event promotion would decorate, areas with a rider image like the pits at Reading and a team flag waving above it, a few free air horns, team flags for fans to wave, it would add colour at the event and look great on T.V, hey hows this for a revolution. ( yes this would leave areas of the stadium sparse ) but it would either build a very good atmosphere or poor, i know that Sheffield for the P.L.R.C when it was ran afternoon on a Sunday and attracted crowd created a superb atmosphere, mainly because it carried such a random mix of support. Just my idea and yes it very much is open to criticism.
  4. Pretty much , how can you get the fans to go to events you dont know the riders will be at.
  5. Its not my job to find alternatives is it , i am just a fan so what can i do to make a difference , any suggestions from " supporters " seem to fall on deaf ears. For a start the alternative entertainment , is crap , cheesy and embarrassing , why does Speedway continue to attach its self to a Stigma that it has had like i say since the 80s, the Sport hasn't changed or evolved, it still wants to hang on to past glory to try and bring fans back that doesn't work. Like has been mentioned several times, the venues and dates are shocking, Sheffiled on a Thursday night being the wost example, i know what line is coming in reply to this, the whole " you have plenty of time to make arrangements for it " , yes that is fair enough , but some fans don't, some cant take a half day to get there maybe more , i am sorry but JC is being called a fan friendly promoter, that isnt catering for Eastnourne,Poole,Reading,Arena, should i go on ? he has in one move wiped out the potenital of about 1,500 fans going to the meeting.
  6. Other than changing the venue of the events, most back to places where they have been before , and failed, what has he done ?. A change to a race format that should have been made about 5 years ago. I am reading about big changes but not seeing them.
  7. But has he really ?. I mean the E.L.R.C at a track where it failed miserably about 4 years ago. The 4s at Peterborough, it was moved from there because the crowds had became so poor, a fun fair wont bring them back in there thousands. Things like a model at a track, signing sessions, meet the rider were being done in the 80s, and now just because its JC ( who is young and vibrant and everything he does is great ) , it will change the face of the sport , not for this fan. Its not really the major revamp that was promised, I for one am not looking forward to the events any more than i had in the past, its just same s*it different shovel IMO.
  8. The logical thing would have been to have the top average riders in each PL team, plus a wild card, more markatable plus the fact it would mean fans from every club would follow it, it should be the same with all National events, teams shouldnt be exclude from finals just on averages, they should be made to accomadate all teams.
  9. A promotional delight for Berwick,Edinburgh,Mildenhall and Newport.
  10. Didnt really prove what he said to be wrong though did you, the points SS made were pretty valid.
  11. Really ? , i didnt think there would be a seel out crowd at that , im a little scared of that event being half empty.
  12. Thanks for youre help with that , is that £50 return ?.
  13. Hi i was looking for some help or information on the best way to get from Edinburgh to the Czech Grand Prix ? Thanks.
  14. Sorry , a speedway freak ? , god this guys post so smell of the same makers of the rap advert
  15. Yeah think of all the old memories the Crump Gollob crash , the Loram final win in Sweeden , the race with the Bullet and Hancock in the rain. This has to be done !!.
  16. Yeah she can have a bit of him as well I should really change the name on that
  17. It leaves them above Poland in the world cup.
  18. Ok if Holta is a Pole then at this moment the best rider in the world is Brittish , you talk about the Brits needing a donation then call Holta a Pole ?, give me strength. Riders like Chraznowski quallify through merit then what did he do with it ? wasted his time and everbody elses by running in last most weeks, Nicholls has been handed a spot no one argues that but at least he does not discrace him self , like lets be truthfull here most of the Poles do other than Hampel and Gollob. I mean this is a pointless argument Scotty is there he got Perry up the duff he messed it up again and he will still be in there Woo Hoo and when Koldziej is getting token reserve spots in Wroclaw , Bomber will be out there in the GP on merit, and then we get to Cardiff for the show piece the jewell in the crown and Steady is the wild card, has every one else got there GB Hats and Flags ready ?
  19. If you are giving it to a youngster Lindgren gets in it long before Kolodziej, hell lets get all former national champions back in it then i here Andy Smith wants in the GP come on down Andy, Makovsky won his national title why not get him in there ?, Stead and Harris posted higher averages in the EL than Janusz who had the benefit of being a reserve ( i dont know about Poland and Sweeden i imagine Kolodjiez is higher ) both finished higher then him in the Grand Prix qulification. You keep bringing this why is Nicholls in the GP argument up , he is in it this year as he has as you rightly say been given the benefit of the doubt, had he not been injured there is no doubt he would have qullified andy way. And the they are in it by nationality argument ? yes they are but why would Kolodjiez be in it ? because he is Polish , why was Pepe in it because he is Polish.
  20. With all due respect , quite a few riders in the Grand Prix are not " GP Standard ", riders like Subedis beloved Poles of Pepe,Top Cat and Ulamek have not exactlay covered them self in glory, i am not against giving a rider like Stead or Bomber ( either of whom would deserve it ) a chance to proove there worth in the Grand Prix , there is only about 12 riders who are GP Standard the rest are just there to make up the numbers, so why not give the chance to young up and coming riders who might just do a Zager and swim or a 27 year old Pole and sink with out a trace. No doubt the why not PK argument will come up , but he had his chance many moons ago , and as good as he is he just could not crack it at that level , do we not all remember the first Cardiff GP ? why go back to they days, you have to give the chance to younger riders as a decent band once sayed " I believe that children are the future ", PK would float around maybe 8th to 10th threaten to qualify then wouldnt , i would rather see Harris or Stead be 10th to 14th first year , then second year use that experince to progress as they have done there whole career.
