And had nothing left but to knock his opponent of ? I mean really
-
At any cost even if that included taking his opponent down that's what you are saying right I am not interested in the referees decision I am asking why Nicholls felt he had to carry out such a move of utter desperation by all means try and pass some one but really in that way what was he thinking.
-
Have I said that or any thing like that ? since you are commenting on accusations.
-
So his move was to intentionally knock his opponent of ?
-
Went for a move he didn't have the ability to carry of if you ask me , as the end result shows safrican american. So its the refs fault Nicholls has nothing left in the locker but knock riders of
-
Not at all I'm sure had Hans done this to Harris it would have had this forum in melt down (although Hans wouldnt have he has the ability to pass cleanly up the inside ), I don't care who rides for who or where they are from, as a man competing against an other it was a shocking piece of riding from Nicholls, he could do nothing else but knock Harris of , how shabby is that on his part.
-
What difference does it make what team any one supports , Harris wasn't riding for Coventry on Saturday was he ?.
-
Of course it was, he took away Harris opportunity to race and turn the bend that isn't hard, its unfair.
-
It was a shocking decision by the referee and a move of utter desperation by Nicholls, team mate or not , he should hang his head in shame that he could do nothing else but just knock his fellow competitor of.
-
He sure as hell didn't help it , and this meeting only adds to what the majority of Bandits fans have said all year, Jac has the ability but just fails to deliver for Berwick , he must have fancied the glory of this either that or a sponsor had put a decent cash bonus on for him winning it.

Brilliant post by Fourentee, can I ask any one how did Ben Taylor look ? Cheers. -
Yes reading it now I guess it was.

Pretty boring qualifiers, reading that Iversen has got better than when he was last there ? has he really , I just don't think there is much about him he is just floating now he isn't getting any bette, would have rather seen Bjerre than him. Dryml , yeah he was a talent a few year ago and was unlucky with injuries, but that was a few years ago. Bjarne, as a league rider is obviously very good, he is one of the best 16 riders in the world, but that's all he is, hes never going to win the world title. As for Wild Cards Lindgren is clearly going to be a Grand Prix riders next year. Who else should get one who knows. You know what sod it I would give Holder one, hes a better rider than some of the GP riders in there now, he will only get better, every one goes on about ow there are two riders from here but four from here who cares other than IGM, I would rather watch Holder than Lukas Dryml he offers me nothing as a spectator.
-
And will Gjedde not be the only rider to have represented his club at EL level but not PL level.
-
Well sod it I will be different IMO wild card should have been Grieves or Complin. No conspiracie theories here or any thing but who picks the wild card is it picked by a committee ? And has there ever been one picked with an average what was not just "the next best " total lack of imagination just picking the next averaged rider IMO. If it is to be the next be rider so be it , but calling them a wild card is just a non sense, there is nothing wild about it , its just a logical decision, which is fair enough, im just asking the question. In fact I will even go as far as to suggest my own idea move the S.R.A riders vote forward so the results come out before the P.L.R.C and give the last spot to the highest place non P.L.R.C rider. Is this slanderous.
-
Slanderous ? other than the chipmunk comment, which just sums up the mentality of that poster rather than any thing else, nothing on here has been slanderous. Unless of course you consider your own paying public making comments' about the possible location of where and when the line up would be announced to be slanderous.
-
But why should it just be Lynn fans who get the privilege the super7evens is a national event not just open meetings for Kings Lyn.. Announcing it in Kings Lynn city centre means nothing to about 80% of fans who will attend.
-
Im not really bothered who was riding where it was just an example. I know as well as any one who owns Tai.

The squad riders would still be part of the PL side they were contracted to be, so in a way it would an extension of the DU scheme. The way I saw it was a better BLC, without as many clashes so that riders in the ELB would be contracted to there ELB side and that alone. And in the PL & EBL cup they would be contracted to there PL side and that alone and unable to ride against there BL team. Confused yet. I thought under this structure the league would appear more lucrative to any teams considering stepping up hence increasing the league there for increasing the number of teams in the league. The PL would compensate for the extra fixtures by doing away with the current KO Cup. So riders who ride both ELB & ELA fixtures eg, Batchelor, Doyle, Boyce in the example I use would still be getting the same income, as well as relatively easier meetings to increase there income, as well as being accompanied by the squad riders in the ELB meetings, so they would still ride the same amount of meetings if not more. ELA TEAM Crump,Bjarne,Kenent,Boyce,Batchelor,Doyle,Woffinden ELB TEAM Kennet,Boyce,Batchelor,Doyle,Woffinden,Frampton,Hawkins KOC TEAM Constructed of the full time Poole riders Kennet,Boyce,Bathcelor,Doyle,Foreign squad rider, Two Non Contracted PL CL. riders. This would be to stop the confusion of the BLC when riders were in free for all racing for who they like, a rider would only have one average for one team per competition. The squad system would seem to work affectivley in Sweeden and Poland I think it is some thing that has to be looked into here.

A Random thought for EL structure, work or not who knows but here goes. 12 man squads with a rotating points limit. With the idea of riders having a strong team for " Elite League " matches and then a weaker team for " Grand Prix weekends ". If you consider a squad of say Poole constructed of Crump,Bjarne,Boyce,Kennet,Doyle,Batchelor,Boxall,Woffinden,Holder,Frampton, Hawkins as well as two nominated CL riders and a forieng retainer rider of there choice to train up eg Klint ( yes I know he went to Wolves ) Which would compete on a regular EL basis of there top team constructed to a 42 point limit to meet in regular EL fixtures, which would be there ELA team And then on Gp weekends a team structured to a say 36 point limit to compete against other EL teams constructed to the same limit, these meetings would be ran with out GP riders as the ELB team Admittedly there would be teething problems with this, some teams have designated race nights etc, etc, teams would need to meet in an equal number of ELA and ELB meetings. I also thought if teams were constructed this way it would open up the opportunity for. A. A national cup competition of PL and EL B teams, which they would use there CL riders in to balance out the sides, which in turn would give CL riders the chance to meet PL teams. B. The opportunity for riders who don't get regular racing being full time EL to have more meetings to open up there opportunity to increase earnings, which in turn would increase the chances of them moving up. C. It would tighten the gap between the EL and PL as it would give improving PL riders more opportunities to meet standard EL riders eg Legualt a rider who is in the PL racing well but struggling for EL meetings to gauge his progress could meet ELB teams. D. With less meetings in this country it would give the GP riders a less hectic calendar which in hand could increase the chances of them showing up. E. Would recuce costs as it would mean paying GP stars for less meetings, they asked for less lets give them less. This is either total nonsense or constructive sense make of it what you like.

The Garry Stead Benefit “grand Prix”
wjm replied to Phil's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Mr C once again, superb. . -
Cracking post that 25 yearfan As for league points limit and structures the point limit has to be thought out to the benefit of all teams, not just picking points limits that favour one team but not another, the speedway still suffers due to favouritism shown to one and not the other, to many look out for there own interests rather than the sports IMO. As for this league structure of who has the most money , is this taking into account the fact that some teams have " mud money " like Redcar and Peterborough who if it were not for rich investors would be no better of than most other run of the mill teams, its certainly not there crowds that are paying for there riders. No this isnt sour grapes just legitmatmae questions I feel need asked, based on crowds and finance is a ridiculous concept IMO are they going to base the crowds on meetings they choose two or the whole season, what then happens if a team they want to be EL eg Eastbourne are getting smaller cords than say Edinburgh , a team that it wouldn't be viable to go EL .

Berwick Anniversary Meeting
wjm replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Never been a fan of the twelve rider format, riders meet to many times, riders can have to many duff races and still go through, and by the time riders like Kajiesto are in the field,Moore had with drawn, Burza had decided to go through the motions it with drew from the even as a competition a bit and the top 6 soon became inevitable. Other than that it was ok, I can quite accept that events like this will be hung out for reasons like, junior races, vetran races, and a few short interviews.... short being the key word, if people wanted to listen to the ramblings of Dick Barrie they would listen to his radio show not stand freezing there bollocks of at Shielfield. The meeting its self , as I have already said there was a large gulf in class between some of the competitors which you would understand as one or two were making there first appearances on the track, all three looked quite accomplished motor cyclist, Smith lifting was just one of they things, once he settled into the track he looked a decent enough talent, Woortman was a typical methodical Scandanavian quite a lanky style, but never once looked in trouble, pulled of a beautiful pass on Kus using the banking to full affect, Kus was the one that grabbed my attention the most riding what could have been a Pepe Franc bike I would imagine it was it had old Pepe covers on it any way, he attacked the track well, looked nippy from the gate on a bike that spent the whole meeting missing would be interesting to see him on decent machinery. Also had the unfortunate luck of Watson picking up some extra grip and cutting right across the front of him after Wato had bounced of the back straight safety fence.. could have been nasty but fortunately not. One thing I will say for all 3 and Watson is that they all pick lines which were to there benefit the 3rd and 4th bend at Berwick isn't what it used to be but if you pick the right line and ride it as a wall of death you can generate speed and also keep the bike going forward at all times, all 4 of the riders I have mentioned done this, with time I think the three lads showed signs they could handle the PL. We all know the drill with the other riders Holder fast and aggressive as ever, as Sub said made a slight error of gate choice in the final and once he was behind Doolan that was the race over Doolan had been fast in front the whole evening. Kajiesto a nice style there is some thing to build on , so poor away from the tapes but he does have some thing if the speed comes and he can handle it he will hold his own, I know it is not Britains responsibility to make riders but a few CL outings would help the lad and give you a better gauge of what level the boy is at IMO. So all credit to the riders other than Stan for turning out and making a decent night of racing on a night that weather wise was a right pain in the ass, it threatened rain and it was spitting all night, what a miserable summer it has been for the sport weather wise. Highlight of the Night : Kozza Smith stalking down Jac and blasting round him on the third bend. -
A miserable little sod , sat in the pits in his deck chair and didn't move until he stepped on the bike. As for the incident I would say a bit of stupidity on his part but i cant say it looked intentional
