  1. Understand why sometimes it's difficult to resist. Snidey comments regarding Panthers current situation are below the belt, thus influencing a can't stop yourself response. Many debates get out of control because they get personal. Some people will say anything just to think they win an argument, which often has no resemblance to the original discussion. With the total balls up they've now made of the EL I predict a few more in a similar situation very soon. Then when it goes to one league the season after all teams will be in the right forum section, that'll please a few.
  2. You two should either get a room or take it off ignore - you know neither can resist. It's mildly entertaining though.
  3. Your right, some peeps are so obsessed with something that matters not.
  4. What does it matter what god damn section we're in right now. If you don't like it don't open it. When the future is confirmed we will leave quietly.
  5. Agree it's still good value. If you get it every week a subscription works out much cheaper. Before anyone asks no I'm not on commission
  6. No it's not for me. I still like flicking through the magazine.
  7. Mine doesn't always have any left so can't guarantee availability. Ordering ensures my copy every week and I don't need to go and hunt one down. Guess it's what suits the individual. Still can't find the Speedway Mail anywhere
  8. Avid SS readers generally order their copy as newsagents and supermarkets are too hit and miss. You cannot rely on getting a weekly copy, whereas by ordering it drops through the letterbox every Thurs (barring the odd postal glitch). Remind me, when did the mail go out of circ?
  9. Surely you didn't expect anything other than chaos.
  10. Having watched him from his early days there were many that thought he may go to the top of the sport. Never made the top table, as most don't. Some because of ability and many for financial constraints. Sorry if my opinion upset you.
  11. One of many. It appeared a high probability for a few years.
  12. Maybe we know enough to hazard a dam good guess. What's the point in watching the same riders race each other. Team Speedway is about racing against everyone at some stage of the meeting, in most cases. I'm all for promoting the Brits but don't really want to see Blackbird scoring a 9 point max by beating Josh Bates 3 times.
  13. You need a product that is marketable. The EL Speedway I have viewed over recent years is neither fantastic or thrilling. Stupid complicated rules, poor governance and track preperation will never attract and retain newbies. How can you possibly entertain with such a gulf in ability / experience. Get the product right then you have something to market. I keep going as a harderned supporter knowing what it can be like. We fell into a trap, with good intent, of setting the regulations in order to save the struggling clubs. A huge contributing factor to the decline of British Speedway. In my opinion.
  14. It appears he's changed his opinion after talking to Phil Morris. @lewiblack: After speaking to @philmorrisgb about money and race formats it doesn't seem as bad for NL riders in elite league.
  15. Why didn't they just say team average is x but must have 2 Brits at reserve. Simples!!!
  16. It is publicised in the SS. Page 36, Bonus Points.
  17. Simple injuries! That's a disgraceful, disrespectful and incorrect comment. Your most definitely not a Doctor.
  18. You are confusing rented v purchased, consider it a loan v transfer. Surely the argument is with the club that sold their soul??? Right or wrong they took cash for ownership.
  19. So very naive and blinkered. Frost tried to break the monopoly, unfortunately the secret hand shakers were too many and scared to stand up. Those that challenged him have done a fantastic job and EL speedway is thriving, right? Phew! Imagine how bad it might have got if he and Cov had got their way and rid Speedway of the corruptness, created an independent committee and ultimately a level playing field. That would have been disastrous.
  20. Not sure about that BCD. TR was the main man that pursued and eventually gained Speedway coverage on a major sports channel. Unfortunately the responsibility for not succeding must lay with the promotors. They had a great opportunity but didn't take it, but took the money. The product in general was not entertaining - until they covered the odd Premier League match.
  21. My view is that it's the promotors responsibility to promote, clues in the name. The Peterborough ET usually has reasonable Speedway coverage, although that might be influenced by the local journo's ❤️ for a Bear. The content is not too bad, often Pat Butcher spouting on about "we can still make the play offs" or "we lost, not my fault" - but it targets the lesser internet user market. Only problem is that now it is weekly, rather than daily, it's generally old news. Word of warning, don't read the Peterborough ET from the front - you risk suicide before reaching the Sports pages. Terry Russell States in this weeks SS he is confident a TV deal will be agreed. Didn't say who with or that it would be agreed before the Chimps Tea Party. We appear to be at this limbo stage every year, thinking it can't get any worse, unfortunately it does. Your last line pretty much sums it up - although I'm not holding my breath.
  22. Years off winning WTC but most certainly could and should have done better this year.
  23. You make a valid point. PL would split easily but EL would all want to be in a southern group. Plan B, just split the one league in two, split how fits best. Maybe one league, home and away, will suffice.
