Not sure what you were watching and understand / respect it's your opinion. I don't believe it is NP haters, he's entertainment but there's a line. If anyone had made that desperate move the response from me and many others would be the same. It's dangerous enough out there without the need for kamikaze assaults.

Positive move to bring in MJJ but It does come across as a tad contradictive to ask supporters to dig deep then sack the bene'fisher'y.

Birmingham V Swindon Mon 2nd June
Hodgy replied to Brummie Kev's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He didn't say should, just a consideration based on how well he is riding KL track. More tounge in cheek me thinks. The guy is always trying to advertise weekly Speedway at a track near you. It's what we need and should be applauded. -

Sorry don't agree, Barker was going for the full on outside run and would have made it. Morris being out of control hindered that run. Wrong call in my opinion. -

Why don't some get off the blokes back. Yes he gets a bit excited, that shows the guys passion for the sport, always supports the Brits. Does more to promote and market Speedway than most promotors. Others have tried but Smashy and Nicey still the best double act. The sport could do with a lot more like Pearson right now. -
31/05 Prague Speedway Gp
Hodgy replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Of course that's what we want, that's why we (I) watch Speedway as opposed to those other borefest sports you mention. Speedway is very different as it's the only one you view the whole race over limited laps. Sorry the occasion is not first priority for me, a great Speedway meeting - if you don't make the gate you still have a chance is my preference. We all knew Prague would not entertain, it will not next season, yet they continue to have it there. Move it. -

Prague the usual dull GP. Great city but terrible track for entertainment - backing the winner eased the boredom, slightly. -
Riders safety is paramount - after heat 10.

Poole Pirates Vs Coventry Bees 21/5/2014
Hodgy replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As I said it's the double points that isn't marketable in a sport that wants to be taken seriously. Wrestling is a glorified pantomime not a sport. -

Thanks for the heat 4 reminder. Apologies maths not my strong point so will need 1,000002 assistance. I was only considering a single TS (that sounds worse than intended). Surely you can't confirm the result of a race before it's run, only the permutations on offer. Whatever the maths, double points is is not marketable - it's up there with wrestling, difference being we hope to be taken seriously. -

As I recall, you couldn't use the TS until after heat 6. To which a team could be 24 pts behind before you can attempt to pull 4 back. With the TR you can gain 7 as soon as 10 behind. How can that not be more advantageous? Maybe I've missed something. -

It's just not right to nominate a rider to score double because they are being fairly beaten, that's always been the complaint. The TS would still penalise a team for winning but is far more credible than 6 points for the win, because you are losing. As others state, when it's works for your team you take it (as I did in 2006), when it's against you it's a jokeĀ®. None of us like it in the WTC but that's TS and TR. We all like a close meeting but double points - it's a knockout!!! Why should teams / riders give up if a meeting is beyond them? What do points make? I would guess many of today's riders are motivated by their pay packet rather than the teams success. Make them earn it. I know, here we go again. Well done Coventry for taking advantage of the rules. -
But none asking to support a family reunion in Poland. Try asking your work colleagues to contribute to this collection. It's very different.

Doyle has tweeted pics of his shark attack injuries, couple of deep wounds all now mended. Could have been so much worse. Entertaining meeting apart from the oh so embarrassing commentary, dumb and dumber have got to go.
-
Thought I heard useless commentators mention attendance of 5,000. Then again wouldn't be the first time they got it wrong.

I went to the scrap yard and requested a wing mirror for a skoda - they thought it a fair swap 😄😄

Chris Bomber Harris Performances

Would KK have won on Harris's bike? Very doubtful in my opinion. Of course you need ability but like that boring F1 it's about engine performance and set up. -

Maybe it will be Smart's decision - can't imagine he's enjoying it. -
Poole V Coventry 14/4/14 Ela Sky Meeting.
Hodgy replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Let's not get too carried away, Newman only beat KH and the reserves. FYI - Newman is older and been riding longer than 'old hand' Howarth, who has also progressed much quicker. -
Nice one.

Robert Lambert Mouthing Off In The Star. Oh Dear.
Hodgy replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Are there really that many meetings in Germany? So he throws his toys out the pram because SCB / BSPA won't bend the rules - because he's special. Complains he has to travel afar to get much needed meetings, then when of age declines opportunity of extra meetings, NL, PL, U21's. I've followed his progress for a few years and he does look a talent, as others have before him. Making himself look a tad cocksure.
