  1. Finally watched The Life of Tai last night, not surprised at all as looked knackered, that was from some weeks ago. Taken far too much on. Must have faced some hefty consequences if he hadn't done the Sweden meeting - can't imagine he wanted it.
  2. Finally got round to watching the TV version, dam tough call. Not in a position in the stadium to know if right call or not. Having watched it, several times, all 4 back would have been my decision. Irrelevant of what meeting it was.
  3. Prague is an amazing City but it's usually the worst GP, the track never produces good racing. If you can put up with that you will have a great time.
  4. Difficult to top the Cardiff experience but The Polish GP's usually create a great atmosphere - apart from this years at Bydgoszcz, result of an internal dispute and stance from Polish fans.
  5. Well said. Where else in the UK do you see a City painted totally Speedway. Streets, bars, shops, cafés, hotels all Speedway themed - you can talk the sport with so many different supporters. Whereas at most venues up and down the country you wouldn't even know there was a meeting on. As you say, that's what needs addressing, Cardiff has it sorted. Fantastic weekend. P.S. Keep the air horns for the stadium, I kept spilling my pint 😄
  6. I used to strongly agree with your opinion regarding neutral tracks. History shows many teams have won events with home advantage. They tried the neutral route a few years ago with the Super Seven launch - it didn't appear to work as no home team meant crowd levels were down considerably. The 4's at Peterborough last year was well below previous tournaments they were involved in. A home winner is usually a hollow victory for many, except the home team supporters. What's the alternative? The BSPA will not want to lose out on much needed revenue by going neutral.
  7. It's a great venue for the Pairs, a great set up in general. I was expecting queues of traffic to the track and a poor view in a busy stadium. Alas, taxi drove straight in and with the banking a good view from most areas. Excellent warm up for Cardiff, great way to start the weekend.
  8. It had better be on, enjoy a Sunday afternoon at the fours. Only 3 weeks away so assume many have made plans. On fixture list: http://www.peterboroughpanthers.co/fixtures14
  9. On the bright side, bet you felt a tad more lively than Bro and I this morning.
  10. Oh no! No draught where you were, feel your pain my friend.
  11. The bar we went to after heat 0,4,8,12,16 🍺🍻🍺🍷🍻🍷 hic! served pre-poured draught beer, albeit crappy Fosters. I've watched from all areas of the stadium and all serve the same. Great weekend. 😀😀😀
  12. In my opinion it was the introduction of the GP series that influenced the downfall of British Speedway. Don't get me wrong I'm a supporter of the GP's and always look forward to each round. The knock on effect of the televised spectacle was expected to create an influx of new supporters, a similar model to F1. Poland, Sweden, Denmark all seem to have gained support whearas British Speedway (the place to be) went downhill rapidly. Even they are now falling into decline. Why? Inconsistent race nights, the loss of regular 1-7 teams and 'superstars' that no longer rely on plying their trade in the UK. The result being top riders could demand top dollar, coupled with decreasing attendances, severe lack of sponsorship, cash strapped promotions with insufficient funds to market the product - a business model doomed for failure. Is it coincidence that all the other nations all have a dedicated Speedway night, Sun, Tues, Weds? We have continually tried to accomadate the desperate clubs, for the right reasons, to assist survival. Unfortunately it appears to have backfired drastically as most are now gasping their last breath. The PL has it's problems but due to lesser costs, consistent race nights and in my opinion better racing it's survived better. Problem is for many, once they've had steak...... I originally posted my thoughts on the local forum. I would also like to add having a BSPA with so much self interest will always create a divide. We stand no chance unless all pull together for the good of the sport. Sadly I won't be holding my breath.
  13. Can pick up tickets on the day, need 2. VIP preferred 😄😄😄
  14. Prem inn Fri, Tent on Sat - think I'm already slumming it enough without adding Pontins 😂😂😂
  15. Limited to first 50, good offer so wouldn't take long to sell. I see now you can purchase tickets at the full price and collect at the stadium. What's the benefit in that? Avoid queue maybe? It's ridiculous that Cook and Barker can't ride in this meeting, devalues it unnecessarily. They only have to cross a bridge after the meeting.

  17. Sorted, roughing it in a tent for the night. £27, 10 min walk into town from campsite. Thanks for the replies and assistance.
  18. Yes understand. Did it for 5 years by pre booking very early, another year got late cancellation. Couldn't pre book this year as wasn't sure if I could make it. Now it's full steam ahead, jolly boys outing (well me and Bro) pairs Fri, managed to get Prem inn 7 miles from track, then GP Sat - just need a room now, don't mind being a few miles way, just don't like being ripped off.
  19. Thanks, would have done the job but full. Appreciate the recommendation.
  20. Thanks, thought I'd already checked that one. Booked up Prem Inn.
  21. Anyone have any accommodation available Fri 11th, Somerset?
