  1. Thought this would be a difficult first meeting against a decent Somerset side. Outgated in most heats but despite the slick track some good racing, could have been a classic with a few more racing lines. Josh and Kurtz looked very quick and Wright improving every season. Think the Rebels will be up there again, even after the late team changes.
  2. Saved me saying it. This lack of a consistant 7, doubling, trebling, guests, r/r is a real problem - it really doesn't work.
  3. Did he pull out or asked last minute but wasn't ready at short notice?
  4. Not just me then. It's been a while since I dare visit these Sam & Ella establishments. After ordering one's 'Cheddar Cheesburger" (that"ll be a cheese slice). When asked for £4.50 I did actually reply, no just one. Poor, that's being polite.
  5. Lynn has places you can warm up a bit in between tractor racing. It's as cold in the bar at EOES as it is outside.
  6. Should have won by more. Lost Roynon in first race, 3 ef when in scoring positions and on a cert 5-1 when Worrall fell and made no attempt to get off the track, rerun 3-3. Also Lawson and Worrall both jumped the start for the 7-2, couldn't believe ref didn't call them back. EOES must be the coldest place on earth brrrrrrrrr.
  7. How does he remain in the sport whilst reportedly continually owing people money? Desperation?
  8. Apologies ladies, should have been clearer. Was relating to the link Noodles attached, not Lambert specific.
  9. What a mess, another season of (G) and RR. This just does not work. Gets even worse at the sharp end.
  10. Running a huge company doesn't prepare you for Speedway and all that comes with it. MB appeared to have all the right ideas on the commercial side but why did he go and where is he now? Probably decided the sport was beyond repair with so many self agendas - if you can't beat them, join them. Or get out. Like or loathe Ford, Poole were in a similar situation to Peterborough now when he joined. Frost didnt just need a smart commercial manager. He needed a shrewd leader.
  11. As I said he's not (wasn't) a Speedway fan and took time to realise it's full of self obsession. The product was decimated prior to Supremo's contribution. There just isn't the fan base in Peterborough to sustain EL Speedway - as others are now finding. Good numbers for play offs but not enough regulars. In my opinion people make too much of Sullivans brief management tenure - what Frost has always needed is a Ford.
  12. Half those fans stopped turning up. Frost is a business man not a Speeway fan. As I said on tuther forum, Yes feels like a kick in the nads - but from a business perspective don't blame them at all. Place to be.
  13. Most certainly. No worse gaters paradise than Prague.
  14. Still think you have reasonable top 6, Dilger a surprise as very slow last season. What a wife, Prague the worst track and racing in GP calendar but without doubt best nightlife. Enjoy! Happy New Year.
  15. Excellent news for Glasgow Speedway. Kings Lynn have proved what you can do with your own stadium and dedicated team. They also went into the local football scene too. Sadly this could never happen at Peterborough. Too reliant on the Showground owners and houses moving ever closer. Great to have a foreseeable future.
  16. Agree will do very well to maintain his average. Not so sure it's a title winning team but certainly an exciting one. Just hope to see the same 7 most matches - unfortunately with all the doubling up doubt that will be the case. I'm expecting (R/R) and (G) to be regular team members.
  17. There is a difference between knowing when assembling a team and finding out a day before the press release. Can't believe they would put together a team hoping no one would notice. Also screwing up another riders season by making changes prior to tapes up. There are 3 teams in this situation - obviously not that clear at the time.
  18. Speedway is not a business anymore, in the true sense. Businesses have to be profitable to continue or go under. Speedway clubs rarely appear to make money or even break even. Therefore adhering to your 'business model', the sport would be non existent years ago. Without volunteers I would guess very few, if any, clubs would survive.
  19. That's 3 of you in less than half an hour. Just takes 1 or 2 to give it a go. Increases awareness, make a few quid, have a good night out and make new fwends. Everyone's a winner.
  20. That's a lot of pressure / expectation on a 16/17 year old riding new tracks. Achieving his starting average would be a good season.
  21. Maybe offer your services. It's not easy to get enough volunteers to organise these events - many hands an all. Perhaps you could create the comraderie Edinburgh appear to have.
