Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Grand Final 2nd Leg, 5/10/16...
Hodgy replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Opinions! Usually influenced by ones own allegiance, it's very natural to lean towards the team you follow. Without doubt so many opinions would differ if they supported the other team. It's human nature. Entertaining meeting on a great race track - can't beat full throttle Speedway. Wolves deserved play off aggregate winners, BV gave it a go and great send off for PK, a true Gent. Top drawer speedway, as KT would say. -
Don't really follow Darts or Rugby but now often hear it mentioned via various sport news broadcasts, TV & Radio. I do think the BSPA have missed an opportunity with Sky coverage (understand they don't have a Hearn, no one would be that daft). It started so well with Sky meetings creating increased local interest to its 'on TV I'll watch it at home'. So what went wrong in-between? That 'fast forward' button has a lot answer for. Doubt though these other successful sports have such strong conflict from more lucrative Country temptations. They are 3 completely different sports. I'm amazed Sky have stuck with it - they do a good job flogging the dying horse. I wouldn't want to lose it.

Does it really matter? We all have our favourites, it's just a natural emotion or commercial Grin ;-) . No need to make something out of nothing.

Guessing means they don't know if they are publicly outing the person or a totally innocent party. If correct (as most think they are) the rules as you see demand a ban. If incorrect the often following abuse towards the innocent is far worse to me. You could have laughed off your naming and moved on. I've read you had / have your name on your profile - agree that doesn't give people the right to post it. However, as your nemesis has gone quiet I'm assuming the gang have sent him on holiday. If so, it does appear to me very contradicting. The rules should be the same for all, that was my meaning. -
The Pzms New Two Team Rule.

Not many on that list that I would consider 'top riders' - Poland also appear to have several pay day issues. Would be a big call to agree to it in my opinion. -
The Pzms New Two Team Rule.
Hodgy replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not so sure too many riders would agree to this. Many are not guaranteed a ride every week, therefore limiting themselves to one league only. Surely they would be better off telling the PZM to get stuffed and ride in Sweden, Denmark, UK and up and coming Germany. I would guess they would very quickly have a rethink. -
Great news and early too. FULL STEAM AHEAD! Thursday September 29, 2016 PROMOTER Ged Rathbone is delighted to be able to confirm that Peterborough will race in the Premier League in 2017. Rathbone has taken time to consider his future involvement in speedway following a difficult campaign, but he is now determined to continue taking the club forward. And it really is full steam ahead after Panthers received a major financial boost by thrashing out a new agreement with major backers T Balfe Construction for the next two years. In a message to supporters, Rathbone said: "Everyone is well aware of the amount of time and money that has gone into running Peterborough Speedway for the last couple of years. "It has turned into a seven-days-a-week, 365-days-a-year job for myself and my partner, Lisa - and an unpaid one at that! "It obviously has a huge impact on our families and friends, but it is a labour of love as far as we are concerned. "We have such an affection for the sport, for Peterborough as a club, and for the fantastic fans - 99.9 per cent of whom have given us such brilliant backing. "We've not once regretted stepping forward in the winter of 2014 to ensure the racing continued in Peterborough, and we're not about to let all the hard work go to waste. "We have learned a lot of valuable lessons during 2016 and missing out on the play-offs was a huge blow to everyone involved with the club. "But success is not judged solely on what happens on the track. We continue to run a very tight ship and are well on course to have every bill paid without making a loss for the second successive season. "That is a triumph in itself in such a tough financial climate, and that is also why it is important to have the support of a perfect sponsor in T Balfe Construction. "David Balfe has been much more than a backer. He is always available at the end of the phone if we need any advice and he is a fantastic person to deal with. I think we've managed to get him hooked on speedway as well! "Now we just need to complete the purchase of the equipment from Readypower and I don't foresee any problems. Rick Frost has always been a man of his word in our dealings so far and don't expect that to change." And Rathbone revealed he and his management team are already formulating possible team plans for the 2017 season. While he is keeping the names of potential targets under his hat at this stage, Rathbone is not afraid to speak of his major aim for next term. "Our home form has to be addressed," he added. "It has let us down in the past two seasons and is quite frankly unacceptable. "We got away with it and reached the semi-finals of the play-offs in 2015, but it cost us dear this year as we just missed out. "We are well aware of the need to put together a team that is capable of winning at home on a regular basis. We have to entertain our fans and give them the success they crave. "The crowds were consistently good for the vast majority of 2016. We thank the supporters for sticking by us in a tough 2016 and hope they will continue to turn out in force when we aim to enjoy more success in 2017. "I can promise them we're already working hard on potential signings although we can't push on too far with our plans until the rules are set in stone at the British Speedway Promoters' Association AGM. "And I can promise everyone that I will be stressing at the annual meeting that those rules must be enforced strongly and consistency, regardless of the clubs or individuals involved. "Everyone knows that the politics of this sport do frustrate me, but they will always be there. I'm committed to changing speedway for the better, but it will be a slow process over time." Really??? Numerous posters are obsessed naming Robert72's true identity - even to the level of creating 'guessing' named titled threads. Several innocent people have been suggested. Whether you have been involved or not I don't recall you stating they are breaking forum rules and demanding they take an enforced holiday. -
He often attends meetings his future 'brother in law' is riding in.

Poole's chances of topping the play off qualifications ended after a heat 14 EF, irrelevant of what happened before or after. I think 'Fact' appears the in-word. -

Ermolenko. -
It's all about opinions.
-
Not how I see it. He has crossed the line from hard to dirty too many times in my opinion. I would guess many (most) of his competitors would agree.
-
Smashy & Nicey always very passionate and promote the sport at all levels. In my opinion they do a great job. So what if they make it sound louder and more exciting. At least they know what they are talking about. Could be worse, Sudden Sam - cringeworthy.

Wolves V Lakeside 22.8.16 Return Of The Champ

Would assume they are totally separate relationships. The messiah's return has raised the interest immensely - that can only be a positive, irrelevant of the reasons. Who is using who... All parties gain. -
What Changes Have To Be Made In 2017?
Hodgy replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Isn't that where we are today? Really don't understand this 'used British Speedway' or 'don't give a stuff for the EL'. Surely the attraction is the deal that suits the individual, wherever that may be. Tai's return to the EL is a huge bonus and opportunity to increase publicity and attendances, irrelevant of the reasons. The SWC & BF are completely different debates. -
Brilliant! Speedway at its absolute best. Commentary, dull as - so much prefer Smashy & Nicey.
