William Hill 2017 Odds
Hodgy replied to KingIvan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Great GP line up, very open. Should be some cracking action - track prep permitting. Dudek and Bart for my money. Hope they all remain injury free. Bring it on and stay safe. -
The first post is far more accurate in my opinion.

Speedway Calendars - What's The Point?
Hodgy replied to Daniel Smith's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Either JL is a Cliff fan or he read the same article as me last week. Despite his age and recent difficulties, Cliff is still the best selling male calendar. Yes I was amazed too. -
As per my post (opinion), they are completely different situations, for the reasons stated. No worries, you have your own opinion.
-
Completely different situations. The British Final is during the European season within easy reach of the competing riders. The Oz equivalent is after a long hard season, riding several nights a week, in different countries with limited sleep. Don't blame anyone that needs to recharge. The Oz title is several rounds and thousands of miles.

Borrowing tracks has never and will never work. The fact that certain personnel are still highly active, associated and influential within Speedway highlights the desperation and limited options. Hope all 3 concerned PL Teams make it to the tapes.

How dare you be so rude. SS is a great mag ;-)

Makes total business sense - doing as we keep requesting, promoting! What's wrong with making a night of it and earning a bit in order to support your new adventure?

I understand how averages are calculated. My point being if he is scoring 15 points a meeting from 5 rides. 12 is not his real average points per meeting. It's only as a result of multiplying by 4 that creates the false average. The same if a rider only ever has 3 rides a meeting. Also understand that's the way it's always been calculated. Doyle can score more points per match than his average.
-
So if Doyle scores 15 points a meeting his average is 12 points a meeting. Which is the truer figure?
-
Very much doubt it's 'people', more like a person (the resident loony) having a conversation with themselves.
-
No one mentioning Dudek now, or have I missed something several pages back?

Had to laugh at this, Mick Poole's interview after the race. Video courtesy of Rigsby.

So if the discussion is all about Hancock withdrawing why do you continue with the cheating / particular race fixing allegation posts. You can't even keep up with yourself. Open question. Do you think any other rider in the meeting assisted a team / country / sponsor mate?
-
As per usual you totally deflect an opinion to suit. You don't seem to grasp a ruling is open to interpretation - because you are always right, it's SIMPLE, CLEAR, FACT, blah blah blah so many times. You are so obsessed and self opioniated with this subject you are surpassing the Poole stalker. 'Only me!!!!!!, now I don't believe you wanted to do it like that'.
-
There were several fixed races in that meeting, Hancock just made it too obvious. At no point did the referee exclude Hancock. His actions were stupid, trying to deny it increased his stupidity. He wasn't the only one denying the paying public - yet you think that's ok as they were not caught. You create a thread titled 'TW 2016 WC' and then tell me to debate sensibly. You are impossible to debate with as you previously clearly stated you are always right.
-
'Considered' and 'Remainder' always conveniently left out. Hancock was guilty in my opinion but so were a number of others that changed / fixed the outcome. Why no campaign to ban them all?
-
As did several others that were smarter than Mr Grin, it was obvious but more difficult to prove. In addition the WTC couldn't have been more fixed in certain races, did the culprits become 'ineligible'? The rule is not CLEAR (using your favoured word) but as we learn you know best. You've made your point several times, created your own thread campaign, but what do you want? Hancock to be disqualified (oh,,, that wasn't in the rule but expect your usual response) so your golden child becomes the champion by default? Going into Melbourne Hancock was the deserved WC after the sad loss of Doyle's participation. Albeit concluding in a severe impact on his reputation. I think that's enough.
-
Sounds far too logical.
-
Finally watched the meeting last night. Some great racing, very entertaining. But,,,, oh dear Hancock. I've previously defended him but this season he has really soured his reputation. Pulling out of the WTC, blatantly team riding Holder home (looking for Holder the entire race), refusing to continue in the meeting but above all the cheek to lie about it. No consideration for the WTC attendees or those that travelled half way round the World has sadly changed many opinions, most certainly mine.

The Collapse Of The Pound And The Effect On The El
Hodgy replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Call it what you like immigration was the main reason for the outcome. Predominantly swayed by the elderly wanting their England (sorry Britain) back, without much thought of the economic impact. Respect that's personal choice but many now sit wondering what they actually voted for. Cameron was complacent thinking it was a forgone conclusion. Unfortunately a third of the country thought the same so didn't vote - the younger generation (+60% of them) were too busy in the bars being served by a Polish smile. -
Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Grand Final 2nd Leg, 5/10/16...
Hodgy replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Opinions! Usually influenced by ones own allegiance, it's very natural to lean towards the team you follow. Without doubt so many opinions would differ if they supported the other team. It's human nature. Entertaining meeting on a great race track - can't beat full throttle Speedway. Wolves deserved play off aggregate winners, BV gave it a go and great send off for PK, a true Gent. Top drawer speedway, as KT would say. -
Don't really follow Darts or Rugby but now often hear it mentioned via various sport news broadcasts, TV & Radio. I do think the BSPA have missed an opportunity with Sky coverage (understand they don't have a Hearn, no one would be that daft). It started so well with Sky meetings creating increased local interest to its 'on TV I'll watch it at home'. So what went wrong in-between? That 'fast forward' button has a lot answer for. Doubt though these other successful sports have such strong conflict from more lucrative Country temptations. They are 3 completely different sports. I'm amazed Sky have stuck with it - they do a good job flogging the dying horse. I wouldn't want to lose it.

Does it really matter? We all have our favourites, it's just a natural emotion or commercial Grin ;-) . No need to make something out of nothing.

Now you're missing the point.
