Absolute correct decision. The delayed start time and very poor weather forecast (irrelevant how accurate) would have had a significant impact on the attendance for this vital fund raiser. The Ben Fund would have been the biggest loser.
-
Maybe fans are fed up with “unforeseen circumstances”, followed with words that explain nothing. Damage a good relationship? The most charitable, beneficial meeting of the season will now lose much needed contributions. Great relationship.
-
The relationship between The EOES and Speedway is completely irrelevant to most supporters. The confirmed 2pm kick off, with this line up, would have seen the biggest Ben Fund attendance for years. If the venue date and time wasn’t guaranteed and now a driving school takes precedence over an essential fund raiser - it should never have been awarded.
-
Very disappointing. It was all going so well. Great track and line up with a logical start time for a mid March, Sunday meeting. Sadly the change will have a significant impact on the funds raised. The only clash I can see is a young driver, under 17 driving lessons event, 8am-5pm. Surely this isn’t the unforeseen, enforced reason for the time change.
-
Why? The perfect opportunity to sell / market and promote the sport totally wasted. TV coverage could and should have been a real positive selling feature. It’s the product offering that has failed.

All my discounts with both BT & Sky have expired. I wouldn’t want to be without Sky - but full price is not VFM. Time for the “I would like to leave calls”. From my experience, Sky also repair free - after using the same line.
-
We would all like to think so but I do have concerns. Giving all riders the freedom of the flyer could actually increase XT delays.
-
Maybe he has too much time to burn.

You are making yourself look more stupid with every post. Back to BT - I would like to know what I am getting for renewing my subscription.

Good game.

Seriously, what is your point? You openly stated you don’t pay your way and enjoy breaking as many laws as possible. Nothing to do with being judgmental. You clearly explained your standards.
-
I can only judge you in accordance with the comments and opinions you post. Enjoying breaking the law and not paying your way.
-
‘Thousands and thousands’ don’t end up in prison on a daily basis, that’s usually a result of serious or repeated criminals. You portray a freeloader much more than a little rascal.
-
You really are not getting it. Doyle is the World Champion and tops a good looking line up. This meeting is a fund raiser that needs to utilise all Marketing opportunities in order to maximise interest. No need for the negativity.
-
You refuse to pay for a TV licence and have done time for more serious crimes? To which you appear very proud or are just on a wind up.
-
Appreciate you admitting you missed my point. I know who you were referring to. My response was regarding your constant negativity towards Doyle offering his services, also the ‘win win’ outcome (to which you completely ignored). Surely The World Champion’s appearance is ‘worthy’ of headlines - and can only benefit this excellent cause.
-
You missed my point completely. Why doesn’t that surprise me.
-
Doyle hasn’t benefited from the Ben Fund for years. You don’t qualify if injured while riding overseas. So what if he also wants to get a meeting under his belt - isn’t that a ‘win win’?

They do always appear to be a step or two behind. The initial panic was to reduce petrol Carbon Monoxide, thus encouraging diesel Power. This resulted in polluting the air with PM and NOx. Emissions standards / certification addressed this with the introduction of DOC, DPF, SCR technology. Place an off highway, Stage 5 engine in numerous countries - the air coming out of the exhaust will be cleaner than it draws in. Just get rid of all vehicles below Stage 4 and the Euro on highway equivalent.

It never fails to amaze me why so many state “Speedway is boring, first out the gate wins”. Then drool over the F1 absolute borefest. Edited to add ‘Why’? F1 is so boring to me. A Speedway GP is so much more adrenaline fuelled, exciting and watchable - I would even include predictable Prague v F1.

Agree, great opportunity to make a stance and create much needed publicity. The Monster models are very much part of the GP roadshow and add professional glamour to the event. They are not half naked, sleazy or forced into it. It’s a job they appear to enjoy. As Dean states, the media opportunity is there for the taking. Use it, don’t follow the BS PC Brigade.
-
That’s one hell of an assumption / accusation. Recall reading several statements from Mr Ackroyd regarding the lack of support from numerous riders for this great cause, during recent seasons. As I see it, anyone that makes such a challenging effort for the benefit of others deserves the utmost respect.

Really? Okily Dokily!!!

Chris Tarrant?

Respect the effort and dedication striving to keep a famous club name alive. However, having riders representing two teams in the same competition is absolutely ludicrous.
