Looks like a ‘Semion’, or golf ball in the pocket

Agree with Phil’s suggestion but finishing top would mean losing out on a potential semi final pay day, in addition to the final rewards. Which could lead to a preference for finishing second or third. Regarding Buster, from what I have read he is not a guy that throws money at a lost cause. Peterborough only just survived CL with much needed generosity. Buster - Peterborough - Ipswich - PL - Ged’s complete about turn. Don’t understand how or why, BT? Baldrick and co must have a ‘cunning plan’. Hope it works out well for ALL.

Think you may have missed my point Ray.
-
Then what would be the point in you owning three clubs? Taking great delight in doing you’re own money doesn’t make any sense.
-
Agree, Worky were left with no time to promote / market major meetings they have craved for years. As you say, semi finals and finals crammed into the last two weeks, incorporating double headers and consecutive nightly meetings, must have had a serious impact on much needed potential attendees and revenue. Such a sad, lost opportunity.
-
The fixture list F-Up’s, and those responsible, must have lost Workington much needed income and possibly their future - after the clubs most successful season ever. As you say, ludicrous. Totally unnecessary and avoidable.
-
Maybe that’s because they don’t have them but are still expected to pay a higher price for less. Reducing the level of product offering and increase the price is a business model that can only have one outcome. Where we are today.

I would guess Peterborough Greyhounds is an absolute gold mine. Well in the millions. They created a perfect business model. Several years ago they moved away from the usual bookmaker / punter flapping track. Built an an amazing glass fronted stadium, with restaurant, bars, excellent viewing in the warm. It is packed out 3 nights a week. Need to get there early if you want a seat - it’s a big stadium. They very often advertise 1p entrance , that includes a beer, a £1 bet, program and scampi / chicken and chips. Then take all your money on the Tote, because you like the dogs name or it’s just had a dump.

That’s not what I was asking. We all know the numerous reasons British Speedway is where it is. Speedway in Poland grew rapidly and just interested in why we think this is. It hasn’t always been like that.
-
Poland. How and why did they become such a dominant force that now appear to dictate Speedway? What was the catalyst for such a rapid increase of supporters and numerous willing sponsors? Fall of communism, Gollob, Zloty, Investment, Promotion, Marketing???

Decided to leave you an open goal. You tapped it in, well played
-
Well, I baked a cake. You were expecting me, right
-
Your post was very clear.

What about all those that couldn’t make it to KL but have supported the team all season? Fair play to those that made the long trek to KL, very much doubt the club would survive on these fans alone.
-
Maybe they should take note of the many complaints and offer VFM. Pi$h poor PR.
-
Congratulations Workington. Don’t know Laura but from what I have read she, and colleagues, have worked tirelessly to keep the club alive. Only just survived, then pre-season team selection negativity and reports of late payments, in addition to God screwing their fixture list. To then complete the double is an incredible achievement. Hope this success brings back those lost (Stoney) fans.

Thanks for the offer but not needed. My blood line is all Cumbrian, unfortunately, my bloody selfish parwents (The Young Ones or Harry Enfield) work options went south therefore hatched far away. Always enjoy a Cumbrian Shank. -

Your memory is much better than mine, also very clear and descriptive...mmmmmmmmm. Have you been outed? Never an Everett fan, all too cheesy. Only remember one funny sketch that involved a sheep. -

Don’t think many will disagree with that Enjoy, it’s looking like Winterfell is upon us. I would like to see Workington win - they really have surprised against all odds. -
THJ, FYI - that’s not what Bananarama said.

Yes was 2013 the season after winning the World title. Agree, Holder never the same after that terrible crash at Coventry. Followed by the tragic injury to his best mate and bitter family break up - it’s been a tough few years since the glory of 2012.
-
Which says to me Tai’s ‘Meet and greet’ probably trebled the attendance for this meeting.

Lakeside V Peterbrough Play Off Semi Final 14-10-18
Hodgy replied to Chris116's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Scott, regrettably announced his season was finished, due to the injury, some time ago. That would include October. Why are you so interested when he booked his Hollibobs? -
Of course there is and it was within your post but overlooked with the unnecessary, usual, ‘idiot talking nonsense’ repetitive insults. We all have our tolerance level and breaking point (we’ve all been there on this forum) but you attack anyone that doesn’t agree with you. Your fellow poster, Waiheke1, posts very similar opinions and facts as you (and I for that matter). Makes the point, without the need to be so aggressive and rude.
