Welcome to Lewis Blackbird and now Olly Allen then it seems
-
Excuse me, but some of us go to watch the team I did last season. I did the season before (even when we were in the same league!) I will openly admit I'm unusual most probably for supporting our neighbours, but I have no shame!
-
Yes. That is something he still needs help with. Olly Allen anyone? He's one rider that can make a good gate most, if not all of the time! And that's half the battle over with! I try not to compare him with anyone. He's Robert Lambert from a little village in Norfolk He has a long way to go and a lot to learn yet before he reaches that stage. I know some don't like his attitude, even now, so hopefully he will mature over the years and learn from any mistakes he may make along the way. With any young adult, he needs a bit of guidance.

I think I have to agree with you there. Whilst I like the idea of continuity (which rarely happens these days!) I think to basically continue with what we had last year, except for Rose, would be a massive gamble this year. Some other teams already look fairly strong in the top 5 department! It's more Rory that I have concerns over out of everyone and having Jacobs instead of Rose may not pay off. It might work out as Jacobs is a little bit of an unknown quantity for me. I think he could be decent...but at the same time, I don't think he'll completely fill Lewis Rose's boots. Personally, I'd have protected Rose and taken a chance in group 1 with regards to the reserve draft, but hey, obviously the club thought differently and I'm sure they have their reasons. Massive shame we couldn't keep both reserves, as after all, they've come through our own NL side that we've kept going over the past few years! I don't think it's right that we bring a rider through the ranks, only to then have to affectively give him away to someone else for a year! Going back to Rory, as I think has already been mentioned earlier in this topic, is a 6-7 point 3rd heatleader. As much as I like Rory, I feel he was a let down at a few key points during last season for whatever reason. That's why he's a concern for me anyway.

Good to see Robert Lambert has signed for Peterborough Doing some PL racing will certainly help his development further I think. He'll have a fair few tracks to try and get used to that's for sure!
-
I think people are thinking Dilger might be back due to the fact that Rathbone apparently sponsors him. I'd hope that that connection is not taken into account as Dilger is one of the last people I'd want back there! There's got to be someone else out there better than that!
-
See! I knew I wasn't far off the mark Oh blimey! Well, best wishes to Star Fever in that case! I must admit, I had wondered where he'd got to when I'd dipped in and out of this topic previously reading what was being said!
-
Oh blimey! Please not...Dilger Anything but that!

I thought I'd seen screamer say on here ages ago that he would never go to the EoES as a neutral. He only goes there when Lynn are there and that's it. Least that's what I thought. You'd have to tempt him with something pretty big to get him to head over regularly. Not everyone is like me put it that way With regards to the Coventry entrance price going up to £18, I must say I was quite surprised, but apparently it's the first price rise in 3 years... Not sure how true that is, but that's what one of their fans said to me on Twitter when I got talking about the subject.
-
We'll soon find out where Todd Kurtz is going. Somerset announce their full side later tonight it seems. He might end up remaining there for another season. And no one should get their hopes up over Robert Lambert just yet either...
-
Lynn have had the credit card type season tickets for years and they always required a photo as far as I'm aware. But then again, not all clubs operate such things in the same way. I suppose that could be considered a security check of sorts, yes! I didn't know that was what happened, but then again, why would I? As I've never been a season ticket holder for Peterborough Yes, that is a fair point with regards to the photo cost. I mean, the season tickets last year were a steal I thought, but I knew I couldn't make all of the home meetings, so decided to not bother with one. I like the fact that the parking and programme were included and that that's continuing for this year. I'm not sure how much will be saved this year by buying a season ticket as the on the day prices haven't been announced yet...or have they? Lynn don't really give much incentive for me to want to buy one of theirs. Normally you have one free meeting and that's it. It normally only covers the regular league meetings and doesn't stretch to include the play offs. And it doesn't include a programme. So, what's the incentive? Zero to me!
-
When I used to bother with a King's Lynn season ticket, they always required a photo to put on the season ticket, so that isn't unusual.
-
Nah! Think I'd rather see someone else at reserve Ollie Greenwood did OK last year...and Adam Roynon should do better at reserve compared to racing in the top 5!
-
Happy to see that the Panthers will race on into 2015 at least Think you could be slightly wrong there myself I hope I'm right and you're wrong anyway!
-
Thanks guys! I hadn't seen that as I don't exactly come on here on a daily basis to read and/or post anything these days... I just hope they run as it would seem mad to not run for the sake of £5,000 as SCB said previously.
-
That was my thought exactly! After seeing Mark Plummer say yesterday on Twitter that the club could be about to close, I put it to him that surely, regardless of whether they've got the full £40,000 by the end of tomorrow or not, that the club could just declare an intent to run and find the remaining money over the next few months if needs be? Plummer's reply: don't think club or BSPA would allow that situation. Either need to be in a position to race, or not. My reply: But if 35k has already been cashed in, what's going to happen to that money if the target isn't met? Plummer's reply: it will be returned. Returned? Seriously? If they'd still got, for example, £20,000 to find, I think that'd be another matter entirely. But, they have most of the funds that they were looking for! It seems silly to throw in the towel now after so much time and effort has been put in to get this far. Just my view of course. I am very surprised (but happy!) that they've raised so much cash in such a short space of time.

I can't believe that some people have believed Kenneth Bjerre's tweet about him not taking up a UK contract. Quite clearly, being the joker he is, it was a wind up That was my initial instinct anyway.
-
I think all monies had to be in by this coming Thursday (27th November). I thought I'd seen that stated on Facebook just recently anyway?
-
I must confess, I was surprised! I never expected anyone to notice me there really, but then again, with my face being on show on here, it's not hard for people to recognise me as my look never changes
-
Hope the rest of the money can be found over these next few days. Bit of a delayed post, but nice of bigcatdiary to make himself known to me at the fans event last month Let's hope the Panthers can race on into 2015 and beyond!
-
Blimey! He must've changed his mind quickly
-
*ahem* do not forget King's Lynn Stars 2006 and then 2009 teams The team of 2006 was probably the better of the two for us I think, personally speaking. Congratz to Edinburgh on this years treble any how
-
Looks like it won't be back... I asked "Rigsby" on Twitter earlier about the unofficial forum vanishing and he said this "Yup! That's PL & a Horton/Swales production for you. I gave it a go but It's done me in & if we survive it's virtually same as." So there ya go! Are you by any chance referring to me mister?!

I actually hadn't thought of it being Halloween that night...until I came on here but yeah, I can't be doing with it. Get me out of here! Someone made a similar comment to Mark Plummer on Twitter either yesterday or the day before and Plummer said it would be going on the club's own Twitter/Facebookwebsite...but when, I do not have a bloody clue! Thomas Jorgensen not at Scunthorpe? How come? What have I missed?! I really like him. Think he can be entertaining and exciting! I'm not local either *cough* Stars fan first by rights *cough* but I'm travelling from 20 miles from the other side of King's Lynn near the North Norfolk coast for this, so I hope many others also make a similar effort. If they're that bothered about speedway remaining in the city, they should make themselves known.
