  1. Well done to Darcy, Tai and Lewis (even though I'm not really much of a fan of his!) Nice to see both Brits progressing through! Commiserations to Linus, but least he's one of the reserves anyway.
  2. Great individual performances from Darcy and Linus Very sad news about the young German, Sonke Petersen Thoughts are with him and his family.
  3. QUOTE (sean b @ Jan 31 2009, 01:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> is this kozzas last year in under 21s? He turns 21 this year, so yep, it's his last! QUOTE (sean b @ Jan 31 2009, 01:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> its good to hear that darcy passed kozza in final so atleast we know we should see some passing this year with darcy in the side All of the riders can make passes though. Hopefully we'll see some good stuff from all of them
  4. Well done to Darcy and Kozza. 1st and 2nd...very good indeed
  5. Well done to the Star boys Darcy and Kozza Certainly didn't disgrace themselves
  6. Any news of what's happening in the NSW State Championship?
  7. Denmark Australia Sweden Poland (actually Poland could be 3rd and Sweden 4th - I'm very undecided ) I'd like to see the Aussies or the Swedes win though, not the Danes Think it could be close anyhow. Haven't got Sky, so won't be able to see the meeting itself until next week probably, when a mate gives us the tape. Hopefully he'll record it!
  8. Didn't know where to post this, seeing as there's so many topics, but decided to post views on last night here. First off, I'm actually glad I went, despite GB's poor overall performance It was such a pleasure to see Daniel Nermark racing again in particular. Always have argued that he could mix it up with the top riders and I think he proved that last night. Might be old and past it to some, but not to me I was contemplating getting a Swedish flag and showing them some support, but decided against it...looks like I should have done what I first thought after all... The only positive to take from last nights performance by GB was Olly. I know many thought he should have done better, being classed as a "track specialist", but what else could the guy do? He appeared to be trying his heart out and at least he scored a few more than someone I could mention *cough* Simon Stead *cough* Since the line up was announced, I've always said it should have been someone like Woffinden or Kennett in in the place of Stead. I think they may have given a better account of themselves. As for Nicholls, Harris and Richardson, well only Harris and Richardson appeared to do anything much, and even they looked as though they were struggling. I had actually completely forgotten Nicholls had had that tumble with Daniel Nermark in Sweden recently, so maybe that was why he done so badly? Harris I know had broken his nose in the British GP, so presumably that didn't help him much either. 9 times out of 10, races are won from the gate and last night, Team GB just didn't make the gate (or got shoved out on the 1st bend) and even when we were behind, we just couldn't find a way past. Anyway, despite all that, I am glad I went. Thinking there could be some team changes come Thursday though... Sweden, Poland and Russia as opponents...oh heck!
  9. Hoping to go to this meeting. Only just found out today that dad's friend is planning on going and he's invited us, so, fingers crossed Woooooo for Daniel Nermark I'll be rooting for Sweden then too, as well as the Brits! AJ and Lindgren aren't bad either. Can't comment on Davidsson or Ljung as I've not seen them ride before. Anyone know the line up for the other nations?
  10. Woo for Daniel Great stuff. Topped my day off nicely!
  11. Do you mean where can you see meeting reports/race cards online? www.speedway.nu is a good website.
  12. Goodness Rawicz got stuffed! Nice to see Daniel Nermark going well
  13. You can't beat being at a speedway meeting though Sitting at home and seeing it on the TV isn't the same, well it isn't to me anyway.
  14. 20-year-old Troy Batchelor won the South Australian Solo Championship at Gillman Speedway tonight, and in so doing became the first Queensland rider to win the Championship. Batchelor won his four heats relatively easily. The only time he was challenged was when Cameron Woodward and Cory Gathercole led him briefly in his third ride, but when he powered around them both down the back straight, most correctly predicted the final would be his. Again in the final he led all the way but it wasn't an easy win. As you would hope in a final, the other three finalists were snapping at his heels throughout. He held about a one to two bike length lead so the others were not challenging for the lead but were ready to power through had he made a mistake — which he didn't. At the finish it was Batchelor by about 20 metres from Woodward, with a further 5 metres to Tom Hedley and Robert Ksiezak who crossed the line side-by-side. Ksiezak got the judge's nod for third. 17. For those asking about Aussie averages, AFAIK they can now come over to the UK on a 5 Nice to see Kozza doing well. He impressed me when he had a race or two at Lynn.
