  1. I said literally as he always stands behind you in home straight
  2. Bones probably take longer to heal at his age you know. He's not as young as he once was!
  3. Maybe not, but I personally am pretty confident that he'll be in the side for next season now that Doolan won't be present. Doolan was the only other person who could really step up to be a captain if Topinka wasn't going to feature. Now without Doolan, it only leaves Topinka with his age and experience to help any youngsters along. He's on a very low average now too, which will work in his favour I would've thought.
  4. All I can say in response to that is that life is sometimes a b***h but you just have to get on with it at the end of the day All I want is entertainment as that's what I pay for. Buster and co. should have the business know how by now to manage to keep the club afloat I would've thought. Was it ever announced that Bjerre was joining us as an asset too? I don't think so...
  5. I have to agree with semion. Who does really care who Lasse belongs to? He will be a great rider and if he's only with us for one season and we won't be getting any money out of a sale then so be it. All youngsters probably want to aspire to be in the EL and then the GPs, so...Lasse isn't the first and he won't be the last rider to leave Lynn only after a few seasons. I'm actually looking forward to him having a complete season with us!
  6. Well there is a saying that the truth will out... Nothing would really surprise me anymore!
  7. This isn't one of your wind ups is it screamer? ........... If it's not, it's making it a very interesting state of affairs.
  8. No real surprise there then! As I said before, his brother rides for them, so why not keep it in the family so-to-speak. I must admit we do need to start pumping our asset list up a bit...
  9. Nice to see Daniel Nermark's name mentioned as Kevin's replacement, but like some others, I can't see it happening...as much as I'd love it to! It'll be sad to see Kevin go, but I wish him well, wherever he may end up
  10. I'd be interested to know where you heard this news as well. If that is indeed the case, I could only hope that we keep Oliver Allen on for next year (though I would much rather have Kevin seeing as his average is lower).
  11. I suppose there could be some truth in what scoobydoo has posted with regards to Lasse, what with his brother currently being at Peterborough. I only expected Lasse to be with us for next season anyway and then move on elsewhere, bit like Darcy Ward. They needed an entertainer of sorts in the side for next season, someone to try and pull the crowds in, and Lasse I feel is one of those riders. From what I've seen so far, he'll give people moments to shout about! That's something that's been missing from the side this year IMO. Through the whole of this season, things just seemed kinda...dead in all honesty!
  12. Hey don't put the fault on to me! I thought you'd both already met one another at Scunthorpe last season...in April in the PT meeting. Mother T was stood near us then. Remember? (I guess not!) Anyway, last night she was with me, Sarah and Bish near the pits before the meeting, remember that? I'd have introduced you both to one another if I'd have known you didn't know who each other was! As for the 3 descriptive words, I'll agree with short, but the other two...well... Basically Mother, Wayne was the short Yorkshire man, with glasses and the Slipknot beanie hat. That's a better description I think
  13. Kevin Doolan 8.98 Tomas Topinka 7.61 Lasse Bjerre 7.00 Adam Roynon 3.95 (or 3.85 with a 2.5% British reduction) These names are pretty much certainties, well Lasse and Adam are in any case) As for who the other heat leader, second string and reserve would be is anyone's guess... Darren Mallett (3.90 > 3.80 with 2.5% British reduction) and Simon Lambert (3.35 > 3.27 with 2.5% British reduction) would probably be fighting over the other reserve berth, unless the promotion know of any other decent reserves out there on a 3.00 average, which would be lower than both Simon's and Darren's averages. I'd like to think Cal McDade would be given another go on a 3.00, but seeing as his equipment has let him down over the past month, I can't see that happening. I hope he has a good time in Australia however. Hopefully that will broaden his track skills and help him improve further. Other names that could be in the fray for the heat leader and second string positions: Kozza Smith 6.17 Chris Schramm 6.37 Emiliano Sanchez 6.64 Linus Eklof 5.30 John Oliver 5.43 (his average could be a lot lower with a reduction for him not having raced here for 2 seasons, plus a 2.5% reduction for him having British heritage) If Kozza wasn't kept on for next year, I'd like Emiliano to come in in his place. I know he has a slightly higher average, but he was good both home and away last year and he was pretty consistent, whereas Kozza has been up and down like a yo-yo this season!
  14. You can find me in the home straight stand I've already decided that's where I'll be most of the evening!
  15. No worries. Just thought I'd say there was one hanging in the background
  16. Great news The SWC this year at Lynn was a great success. No doubt it'll be even better next season!
  17. There was already a topic for this meeting (here) It had gone on to the 2nd page. Hopefully I'll see ya at the meeting somewhere squall
  18. Good luck to the Young Stars today Let's hope we do enough to make it stick at home on Wednesday!
  19. Unbelievable! I know I've not been to many NL fixtures myself this season, but in my eyes, this is completely unfair to those youngsters that were meant to be riding in the NL Fours and NLRC - it makes them look less important than anyone else, but these kids are our future! The BSPA management committee should be shot
  20. I've always liked Harris and his never give up never give in attitude. On the international scene, I think he's performed a lot better than Nicholls and has given fans a lot of entertainment over the years. I personally hope that this great form he's found continues through into next years GP and the EL. To finish 6th overall is quite an achievement IMO and as I say, hopefully he can build on that next year. The sky's the limit
  21. Thanks Sounds a bit like his performances in the PL recently I really feel for him as I believe he has a lot to offer. If anyone is able to write up heat by heat information and a full run down of people scores it'd be appreciated.
