  1. Wow! That's very reasonable. Especially having a programme and car parking included. That's not been done before has it? Wouldn't be worth while in me snapping that offer up as I probably won't be there every week anyway, seeing as King's Lynn have increased EL fixtures, but for Panthers own supporters, that's an offer that can't be refused surely?!
  2. Happy New Year to all you other Stars supporters out there Let's hope we have a better season in 2014 than we did in 2013!
  3. That's a good point! I hadn't thought of that! I'm glad we've taken him on though as he looked impressive when he rode for IOW this season just gone.
  4. Excellent news I hope to continue my visits next season as much as possible!
  5. Didn't hear that! Was obviously too busy looking at Niels at that point That's if he'd made his grand entrance by then? I heard Anita say she wanted Nicki Pedersen back though.
  6. That's what I thought. Can't remember why I thought that, but just wanted to be sure - cheers
  7. Anyone know the birth place of Lewis Rose? Just compiling team profiles for my unofficial Stars website and can't seem to find much information on him anywhere, apart from his birthday that I found on speedwayresults.com!
  8. On the PowerPoint presentation, Roger Warnes and Poultec company logos were on it, so I'd imagine both of those companies are continuing with their sponsorship, but no one actually talked about the sponsorship for next season.
  9. Great to hear we have Ritchings on board! Was impressive around our track when IOW visited this season. Gets my seal of approval anyway
  10. Well, I don't share the same opinion as screamer. I'd have to see speedway somewhere! Yes, of course everyone's main interest is their local team, but I feel I'd have to have nosey somewhere or other. I'm a speedway fan second after King's Lynn (although to some Lynn fans I probably turned half Panther last season after all my visits there ) I just can't imagine not going along the A47 to the EoES
  11. Not liking all this silence Anyone heard anything positive on the grapevine of late?
  12. Don't jinx it now! Call them things beginning with the letter i 'you know whats' instead I don't even like to talk about them things anymore on here as last season was a complete joke with regards to that subject.
  13. Porsing and Lambert are both in Outrup's team. Iversen is with Esbjerg. Apart from that, can't see Kenneth Bjerre announced anywhere. The alternative race night that was mentioned was Thursday. That night only clashes with Swedish Allsvenskan meetings I believe, but at present, no one out of the team has signed for an Allsvenskan club as far as I know. See ya there You won't go home disappointed (least I hope not anyway!)
  14. Very happy with the team that's been put together Ultimately, the club's goal is to get into the play offs and win the league (as always!) but will I personally be bothered if we don't manage to do this next year? Not really. For me, win, lose or draw, whether we get into the play offs or not, I just want to be entertained and see some great racing. In the 7 riders we have, particularly from the 4 younger members (Robert, Nicklas, Lewis K and Lewis R) I think we should get that, without a shadow of a doubt. For some people to say we should win the league already is crazy talk. That's already putting unnecessary pressure on some team members!
  15. I'd feel kinda bad for him if that is to be the case I know it's swings and roundabouts, but it'd be harsh on him, or anyone else for that matter, but if he's happy enough to do it and is prepared to do it, then I suppose that's his choice...
  16. That was a night of diabolical refereeing decisions that's for sure! I don't often watch the Linnets, but decided to pop up to have a nosey as I thought it'd be a good game. It would've been, if it hadn't have been for the ref I think! There'll be a few hundred there in the Lounge tonight no doubt I'll be there and I know what side I'm hoping for and that seems to be the side that a lot of other folk are hoping for too: Niels, Kenneth, Rory, Nicklas and Robert (somehow or other!)
  17. I was going to ask what was going on... The silence is deafening!
  18. I've decided to try and gather some old photos of the Saddlebow Road stadium (now the Norfolk Arena) from other fans to show how the stadium has changed over the years. I'd like to include them in my old photos section on my unofficial King's Lynn Stars website. If you have any photos of the stadium and know when each one was taken, then I'd love to hear from you! Please see the contact page on my King's Lynn Stars unofficial website for methods in which to get in touch with me. You can send your photo(s) in either one of two ways. Either upload your photo(s) to an image hosting site (i.e TinyPic, ImageShack or Photobucket) and then send the link(s) via any of the contact methods listed, or attach the photo(s) to an email and email me. Of course, credit will be given. Hopefully, in time, I'll have an extensive archive of stadium photos, a bit like the team photos that I've found or gathered over the years. Thanks in advance
  19. Good to see Mads won't be missing out on racing over here. Hope Leicester look after him I guess Bagpuss does have a valid point with regards to his inconsistency. I'm just curious to know who his replacement is. A lot of people, myself included, suspect it's Kenneth Bjerre, but I'm now not so certain and I'm expecting some kind of a shocker moment on Thursday. Has Kenni Larsen been announced elsewhere? Heard his name mentioned on the grapevine, but his average apparently is similar to that of Mads' so would we be gaining much if the replacement was him? I'm not so sure. To leave Mads out I would've thought the management would go for someone with a slightly higher average and then get 2 lower averaged riders to go into the top 5, meaning we should have 3 good heatleaders, which I think is what will really be needed in 2014, seeing as we have 2 NL riders at reserve that will stay there for the entire season and you can't always guarantee getting something out of those, as both will be on a steep learning curve.
  20. Another good signing. Look after him! Mads will be sorely missed by the Stars supporters. He gave 110% for us and I'm sure he'll do the same for Leicester.
  21. I would imagine we'll see Lewis Rose, Darren Mallett and Josh Bailey in the team and possibly Jake Knight. As for the rest, they're anyone's guess! I think Bailey in particular looks to have a bright future ahead of him, so I hope he's taken on board for a full season. Might as well give him a run out as that's what the NL is there for IMO. I'm sure Lewis Kerr said he wasn't interested in staying in the NL any longer on BBC Radio Norfolk at one of the meetings that was covered live at the end of the season? I think Robert Lambert may well have given a similar answer, so I can't see either of them making a return in 2014.
  22. I agree! I've seen him fly around Beaumont Park on several occasions. The Lions fans should enjoy watching him
  23. Glad to hear he's got a place somewhere else Hopefully one day he'll make a return to us!
  24. I love the fact that the 2 food stands toast the buns slightly for their burgers and hot dogs Mmm! Not been to that many tracks, but I've never known anywhere else to do it, so hats off to them!
  25. Yes, I do remember. That wasn't such a great night I have to say in all my time of heading over there. I was there on the back straight with all the other Lynn supporters when Kenneth broke his leg and yes the track was pretty bad on that occasion. That I cannot deny. During the earlier part of 2013 it had also seen better days I thought and was still a bit "hit and miss", but once it's prepared correctly, it can produce fantastic racing, which I did see there in 2013 on many occasions. I think as the season progressed the track conditions did seem to get better. Don't know what everyone elses view is on this, but that's mine. Don't even talk to me about roadwork diversions My worst nightmare! I always used to go via the A47 then the A1260 and go through the Ortons, but now I tend to go the way most people go, which is along the A1139 on the south side of Peterborough, as it does seem quicker. I know what you mean about locals not knowing about the EoES. When I first went a few seasons ago, having never been there before, we asked locals for directions and they either hadn't got a clue or couldn't speak a word of English (ever so helpful!) You'd think they'd know about it seeing as lots of other different events are held there, but no, seemingly not. Maybe like you say, that doesn't help with getting enough local support either.
