Another drawn out match with BV operating R/R loads of 2 rides on the trot and BV's now customary double interval?

Belle Vue V Lakeside Wed 3rd August
IainB replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'm not that far behind you... just hope it see me out too It's alright trying to get kids in (for a quid maybe) but the kids I generally see at speedway seem less than interested in what's going on. There was a young lad next to me on Wednesday and all he seemed to be interested in doing was anything but watching what was going on out on the track! It seemed that trying to unpick the green mesh fencing along the back of the south stand was more interesting than the Speedway! And I see this with a lot of kids. The promotion (and I mean all speedway promoters) need to be targeting the late teens/early twenty something's, they are the ones that will develop an interest and not just see it as a one off night out going along with dad (or mum) and they are the ones who will make their own decision on whether to return or not. Just look at the average age of Polish speedway supporters. -

Hey Phil, thank you for your kind words, you sound like a really nice bloke. I hope you will be happy standing by yourself in a brand new empty stadium wondering where all the fans are, not realising that they're all fed up of being continually mugged off by so called speedway promoters -

Shocking behaviour on BV's part tonight not informing the paying fans that the oppositions main man was not going to be there, news only broke after 7pm, so even if you'd done your homework (as I always do) it was too late. Check their Twitter feed and there's nothing about it. They and Lakeside (as they are just as guilty) should take a leaf out of Coventry's book and inform the punters in advance they have with no KK at Leicester on Saturday and have informed the fans, for this reason I won't be going to Leicester. It's alright saying going to any event and somebody could be absent... I went to see Axl/DC at the Etihad a few weeks ago, fortunately they had a replacement and didn't expect the rest of the members of the band to each sing a song in the absence of BJ! -

If they want to encourage people to print their ticket at home and cut back on the queues and meeting delays, they've got to start charging the same price at the window. Some people will not pay the extra £1 on principle. -

But be aware that it's an extra £1 per ticket for the privilege of doing so... literally a licence to print money! -
The ref had a shocker last night, how he missed Auty blatantly touching the tapes in heat 1 is beyond me, Bech went down by himself in the first running of heat 2, was allowed back in and the meeting was left to drift along with rain falling. Watt was a disgrace, all riders showed good effort on a difficult track except for Watt and to be fair I've seen him perform the same in decent conditions too, this no points no money argument I find hard to believe, I bet he didn't get £0.00 for the meeting. If he doesn't want to ride speedway why doesn't he go home and get a proper job?

Belle Vue V Swindon 11 May, 2016.

Negatives out of the way first. Getting in was a total shambles, queued up for 40 mins expected to see the place heaving when I got inside and was amazed how few there were in (for the crowd at the ticket office), the staff in the ticket office did look very stressed! Then had to walk all the way round the outside of the stadium to gain entry to the south stand, I don't know why you can't just get in at the main gate and walk around, I hope this changes. The track reminded me of the Carduff track and produced about the same quality of racing, hopefully this will get better when the track matures. And now for the positives.... wow! what a place! viewing was awesome and the place has atmosphere, compared to the old place that was sometimes like attending a funeral. The teething problems will get sorted out. I just hope there is a league in future years for the club to run in -
Probably at Leicester preparing for next year

Can't really agree with the riding abroad part of this, this was held in Britain and the Brits still weren't good enough. Lambert unlucky? Just not good enough yet, at least he has time on his side. Cook unlucky? a bad last after he looked like he was going to go through the card and a silly fall -

If he wanted to ride over here I would sign Zengi (ex Swindon) to replace Walasek.
