Maybe they should have worked on the track until 8pm like Sheffield did
-
When you say "give it every chance" do you mean hope it dries out enough for it to be acceptable to the riders? I'm not sure what work went into getting the track into a condition to race after the rain hit as Eurosport didn't show anything like they showed from Sheffield. And a former promoter on here said that it doesn't make any difference whether the TV cameras are there or not.

Is it conceivable that one or both of the legs of the Final may not be televised if they have to be rearranged? With Eurosport anything is possible!
-
Another example, it was bone dry about a mile up the A1, Peterborough were quite unlucky copping the rain
-
No complaints from me when it's actually rained, I was told sometime back on these forums that the fact that TV are covering a match makes no difference at all.
-
What a shambles this TV contract has been and is turning into. Currently the Peterborough match on Thursday is not being shown and the Belle Vue match is! Even though BV are 10 points up and the tie is effectively over
-
Simple question though, if the rain stopped at around 17:30, why wait until 18:45 to call it off?
-
Don't know why it took them over an hour to decide the track was waterlogged! Wasted trip from Leicester and cancelled just as I got there. Not happy!

Looking at the met office radar there's a big dollop of rain heading the way of the EoES, hopefully it'll miss

I was always of the opinion the Leigh Adams and/or Emil were the best riders to never be world champion but when you look at the stats Andreas Jonsson and Jarek Hampel have a pretty good claim to this unwanted title too. With Magic and Fred catching them up quickly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Speedway_Grand_Prix_statistics

I have 2 abiding memories of Colin Pratt, he first came to my attention when being interviewed by ITV after a Coventry vs Cradley Heath match by Gary Newbon where he was disagreeing that he should have used a tactical or something and saying his reserves cost them and he'd have to get some new ones! All in his gruff style, I think it's fair to say he wasn't a natural for TV. The 2nd time, I was walking back to my car in the Oxford car park after a Bees defeat and Wayne Carter had scored 1 point and a fan made a comment to him as he walked by saying something like how about Mr 1 point, he cost us... Pratty then bellowed "Piss Off, alright!" at him across the car park... it was quite comical! Still makes me laugh to this day. An undoubted "character" of the sport and another sad loss

Don't forget fan entertainment That's why they've got to stop trying to rearrange these postponed fixtures if they're going to call them off so easily
-
Was thinking the other day that this has already been done in the past hasn't it? Wasn't Peter York in charge for a few years? Can't remember why he stepped down or was be reelected or whatever
