  1. That is a long one I'll grant you... But no need to pay more than £50 at a travel lodge somewhere on the way home
  2. Yes, I understand this, which is why I asked where £600 was from. Sometimes you have to put yourself out though. I did the 400 mile round trip to Eastbourne and back (to Leicester) last weekend, I did the 320 mile round trip to Cardiff yesterday, I'll be doing the Redcar trip on Friday... and hopefully a Somerset or Glasgow trip... it may mean a late night but there is Sunday to recover. There's no way I'd ever spend £600 on Speedway.
  3. £0.17 2L Tesco spring water... sorry didn't think it was worth mentioning Defo should... gets my vote
  4. Why would you hold an event that draws a crowd of over 40,000 people at a venue that holds 8-10,000? Madness!
  5. Total cost for me: Ticket: £19 Fuel: £30 Sandwich: £0.89 Maccies: £6.49 Why the hell are you spending £600?!? You can't really complain that it was poor because you decided to spend £600 on a £50 day out
  6. It does miss a Nicki Pedersen type character, with the exception of Tai, the rest haven't really got much about them in terms of projected personality. A mate of mine used to dip in and out of the GP's on Sky Sports a few years back... The only rider he mentioned was NP
  7. I was in upper tier bend 3 U24, £19, purchased 2 weeks ago... Ouch!
  8. There's some miserable old buggers on this forum... If you don't enjoy Cardiff, you probably don't enjoy life! I ordered my ticket a couple of weeks ago, £19, same as a league meeting in far better surroundings. I sat in my allocated seat but I could have gone pretty much anywhere in the top tier. Ok it wasn't a classic, probably down to Woffy not really being in contention and you have to wonder about Cardiff's longevity once Woffy is out of the picture with no one really on the horizon to pick up the baton. It was a lovely day, weather wise, cheap, professionally run, great atmosphere in a stadium that offers great views of the track... Where else can you get that in the UK? If I did have a gripe it would be the intro/parade... I couldn't really see what was going on
  9. This would be great on the Coventry 2019 thread... Oh that's right there isn't one
  10. I understand you can't talk to three quarters of a person... unless they only have 1 arm or leg 99% of the people I spoke to said they loved Buster
  11. Get VPN and watch from the SGP website
  12. so they spoke to three quarters of a person My general point is we don't know how many people he/she spoke to. As a Coventry fan in exile... I'd love for Buster to re-introduce the sport at Brandon
  13. 99% so they'd have to had spoken to at least 100
  14. you spoke to 100 people?!? You didn't come and speak to me What about parking? Why aren't the club charging for the use of floodlights if they own them?
  15. I remember the Thundercats team being unveiled around the turn of the century under the old Peter Oakes promotion to the fanfare of this is the team for the new millennium, I can't remember how many of those actually progressed into the main team within 5 years, probably only David Howe. I also remember Jason Crump and Paul Hurry starting their careers off at the same time in the reserve berths at Peterborough, one went on to become one of the best riders of his generation, the other nothing more than a capable second string at the very best. The fact is not every rider is going to "make it" and somewhere along the way promoters seem to have lost the meaning of the word loyalty in their scramble every year to make the play-offs, constantly chopping and changing riders in the hope of 2 decent attendances at the end of the year. Loyalty of course works both ways and it's no wonder riders these days have little or no affinity to the club they're riding for as they're likely to be binned off if they have a few duff meetings. Look at Ed Kennett at the weekend missing both legs of a cup final for the club he captains.
  16. if that's the case then fair enough... but we're always being told that whoever is showing the Speedway is generally happy with the viewing figures
  17. Eurosport couldn't give a toss, it's all about filling up airtime for them
  18. God help us if Eurosport get hold of the rights, they are and always have been a joke. I missed the WU21 earlier in the year as I didn't realise it was on Eurosport, they showed a 1 hour "highlights" show of that event prior to the live event last weekend, I thought I'd watch that as I'd missed it first time around... all they did was show it as live from 1 hour before it finished, consequently they joined it for heat 19, 20, the 2 semi's and final, zero effort went into producing a proper highlights show. I know beggars can't be choosers but sometimes going with the highest bidder isn't always the best option.
  19. Ooh you little tinker! That must be where he picked his "knock" up from... aggravated his back opening a bottle of beer There's 2 great gaping holes on the first turn where it's been worn down to the base, it's been like that for at least half the season. How often does Scott Nicholls come off on his own?
