  1. I've got to say that whoever is in charge of Leicester's media really does need replacing... I expected to return from Glasgow to catch up on all of the reaction, not particularly in the media, but quite certainly on the website, pictures, interviews with riders and management, video of Ellis Perks clinching the final in that fantastic heat 14 and the celebrations afterwards. Only there's nothing, just a bog standard match report "GLASGOW 50 LIONS 40 (AGG: 89-91)", that's the only clue on the website that Lions have done anything at all on a Tuesday night in October, and they lost. It's a bit of an insult to the fans that have been supporting the club all year long and had the 2nd leg taken away from them. Is it any wonder that it's not in the local paper when the club can't even be bothered to do media for their fans on their own website... just another match on a Tuesday night in October. The fans won't get to see this team again, the team that won the league title for the first time in 50 years! See you in March... and oh yes if you don't come in enough numbers we'll close down. DISGRACEFUL!!
  2. Great... There is at least some hope then
  3. Given the choice between the Faccennas or Buster Chapman buying up all the clubs in a league I know which one I'd prefer
  4. I saw something on TV a while back and it said that Polish was 2nd only to Japanese in it's difficulty to learn for foreigners Do Eurosport produce/air any other magazine style programmes of other sports?
  5. Glasgow pretty much pressed the self destruct button in the final over the 2 legs right from the start (of both meetings) with countless points thrown away which in hindsight could have seen them as comfortable winners. I'm not saying Leicester were lucky as there's no luck in touching the tapes or falling off or knocking your team mates off and some may argue in engine failures also... but Leicester have such a solid side with a great blend of youth and experience that any dropped points prove almost impossible to claw back. It was my first visit to Ashfield and I have to say the whole place oozes professionalism from the moment you turn up at the stadium you can tell that promotion have put in so much effort. This should be the model that all other clubs aspire to... if only they could find a way to make it pay! Watching the 2 legs of the final reminded me how good the sport of Speedway can be and why I love it.
  6. You should try and keep the fans you've got before trying to attract new one... In all honesty British Speedway and Eurosport is probably a good fit... You get the broadcast partner you deserve
  7. And a person to edit it and rose significantly when the meeting was promoted with reduced admission
  8. All this talk of highlights shows... history shows that Eurosport put zero effort into compiling highlights
  9. Unless there's a get out clause like when sky binned us off
  10. Highly unlikely... Cycling is a global sport, with at least one major global event happening every year for 3 weeks and millions participating worldwide... Speedway on the other hand, well I'll let you fill in the blanks... I do hope you're right though
  11. It's a sport as in 1 rider competes to beat another... in every other aspect it is far from a sport
  12. All that snow in Glasgow must be settling on you
  13. I've had a good think about it and I'll leave my comments. I'll laugh at pretty much anything
  14. I have watched Eurosport recently, I watched the highlights of a SEC that I missed live... and their idea of highlights were to just show the last hour again as live, so from heat 17 or something. Eurosport always have been and still are a joke of a channel
  15. I thought it was the start marshall that was delaying the start in heat 1 in trying to provoke Craig Cook into having a nervous breakdown
  16. He looked pretty interested when he chased down and passed Douglas in heat 11
  17. All looks good at the moment... Just a few dark clouds knocking about, should be ok
  18. There's a dirty black cloud over the city... Looks ok up BP way though with barely a breeze
  19. Tell me about it!! All forecasts I looked at said no rain until after midnight in Glasgow... that's why I set off in full confidence at around 10:30 and foolishly didn't check my phone until 3pm when I was about to cross the border only to find out it had been called off about half an hour after I left home... I was a tad frustrated Still it was a nice drive home through the driving rain in the rush! Perhaps it might be an idea for clubs to setup a WhatsApp group that fans can join to receive alerts about postponements, instead of having to check the website or Twitter, especially difficult when driving. Why on earth we (as a sport) continue this seemingly every season with finals to competitions being crammed in on off nights on dodgy tracks in October is unfathomable. Also In these days of potential golden heats holding the 2nd leg of the semi and/or final is a distinct advantage and yet no consideration seems to be given to this. The league should be wrapped up by the end of September, any clubs not making the play offs can then hold maybe a north/south regional competition to keep their season alive with the knocked out play off contenders joining at a later stage (like the Europa League in Football). ... Anyway I shall probably try again on Tuesday, my weather app says only a 20% chance of rain in Glasgow
  20. Natalie Quirk does other stuff for BT Sport and I think was working for them before they got the Speedway
  21. I don't really follow the NDL but I assume that as Leicester finished top of the league they elected to ride at Kent first so as to have the advantage of running the 2nd leg at home, in case of golden heats. So why would they now agree to allow Kent to run the 2nd leg? But as they were going to turn up tonight without Ellis Perks, I wonder if they really care whether they win the play off or not... it's things like this that devalue the competition.
  22. Yes, but those points aren't then totted up to decide an overall winner. Personally I thought the GP's were a lot more competitive when they had the 24 rider line up with riders gradually being knocked out. I understand that the riders probably don't like this as the current system gives a lot of them an easy time
