  1. to be fair he did get a bit hysterical in one of the earlier clips
  2. What strikes me about watching races from different era's on a thread like this is the way the bikes grip the track. In the yesteryear clips the bikes seem to be sliding around on the tracks a lot more than the 100% grip 100% of the time bikes of today... yet a lot of people say the tracks aren't grippy enough these days
  3. Wow! ... but what did he call him at the 19 second mark?
  4. All that paint is going to be needed for the cover up when all this is over and there's an inquiry on how the virus was let in the country, allowed to be spread and why there was not enough preparedness or equipment when pandemic has been at the top of the government's "risk" list for decades. Keep making the paint they're going to need a lot!
  5. I accept differences in opinion, it's what this forum is all about. What I WILL NOT accept is personal abuse.
  6. I want to have out that you've called me an imbecile, a cretin, and even had a go at me about me not "banging" on about watching my dad die from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Where do you want to do this?
  7. If you're referring to this cretin, then I'm sorry to have to disappoint you in the fact that I haven't mentioned this topic on any other thread. You are one sick individual. In fact I suggest we meet up once this is over and we can have it out. Perhaps we can do it for charity? I'll donate to the SRBF, you can donate to your favourite flu charity. I'm in Leicester, where are you?
  8. They were probably telling each other that the flu kills more people every year!
  9. There are some people on this forum that won't take it seriously until the death toll passes that of seasonal flu... by which time of course it's all too late. I just hope that they are in a tiny minority. A balance has to be made between informed information and a little bit of hysteria, fear is (rightly) being used to make people act, "social distancing" etc. Of course there are people who have higher fear thresholds (speedway riders a prime example)... and then there are the plain stupid and you just won't be able to reach them, which is where enforced lock down comes into play.
  10. He's clarified what he meant, he's said it felt like a joke (as in surreal) not that it is a joke or he's laughing about it
  11. You'd hope that Branson would dip into his $4 billion to help folk out wouldn't you? If he were to divide his fortune amongst his employees each one would receive $466,690... probably enough to see them through
  12. I'm not condoning it but I do think it's understandable madness. The government has shown over the last 10 years that it does not care one jot about the vulnerable in society. A lot of people live hand to mouth week by week, so when they're told by the government to not worry and everything is going to be ok and if you're in isolation we'll make sure food gets to you, quite frankly they're not believed. I'm doing alright as I have a bit of money in the bank and always keep a full freezer and pantry anyway as I generally bulk buy when products are on offer. In one way the supermarket cartels encourage bulk buying by their wildly fluctuating pricing policy where by a product is always at a low offer price somewhere or other be it Tesco, Asda, Morrison's or Sainsbury's.
  13. I wonder who will ride... Some say Tungate has gone home, I think Hans "N" Andersen and Ostergaard are stuck in Denmark. Don't know about KL Hartel, Jorgensen, Proctor and Riss?
  14. I take anybody dying from a lung disease seriously. I watched my dad die from IPF 2 years ago and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy
  15. If you look back through the thread you'll see I took it deadly seriously from day 1 advising the screensport bloke to watch the BBC documentary... All I've seen you do is bang on about the blummin flu!
  16. I don't understand what you're saying... Are you saying you're not going to take it seriously until the death toll passes that of the flu?
  17. You should stop reading the Daily Express and watching ITV then
