  1. "The colors of Wrocław are a holy thing, let Woryna the rag remember about it" It's all double Dutch to me... Surely they mean Veroni
  2. Couldn't watch it in Polish personally, the TV format doesn't bother me really as I watch it on delay and FF all of the dead air and adverts. I agree with the sound though it does seem to be turned down. I think it was Flagrag that mentioned that he'd seen the bandwidth that was being used and questioned whether it was being transmitted in HD and although the picture looks fine to me I do notice that the sound seems to be in a particularly low bandwidth, to my ear at least, as I can hear a lot of background distortion and I've got quite a powerful 5.1 setup and it's really noticeable
  3. Blummin eck! Is that all? I though it was something that had happened a while ago, they should have been having a go at the ref... "The Referee's a Woryna"
  4. While I'll watch Speedway on the telly all day long, no matter how good it is... I've got to say from what I've seen of this Polish league it's pretty cr@p. I've sussed it out and unless it's Leszno riding away or Rybnik riding at home the match is going to be an easy comfortable home victory. Great for the promoters as most fans attending want to see their team win but a bit of a borefest for the neutral watching on TV. Obviously there's a sprinkling of good racing in most matches but for the most part the result is a forgone conclusion after the first 4 races. It's surprising really as most tracks seem to be the same size, shape and surface.
  5. "Veroni" seemed to be getting some stick from the Wroclaw fans, not sure why that is?
  6. ... Or even a similar series run along the lines of a Southern, Midland & Northern Riders Championships with the top 5 from each series going on to a British Final? Something... Anything. Should be relatively easy to organise. I'm surprised the BSPA didn't have a contingency plan really, the message seems to have been we've cancelled the leagues... you can all do what you want.
  7. Holding it over multiple tracks and rounds weeds out the home track specialist winner also
  8. I was thinking of something little more inclusive to ALL British riders, obviously depending on how many riders and clubs would want to take part... so for example have a pool of say 32 or 48 riders Round 1: Held at 3 tracks in week 1 Round 2: The top, middle and bottom riders in the standings then split over the next 3 tracks in Week 2, So split the top 16 into 6,5,5, middle 16 6,5,5 and bottom 16 6,5,5. So the riders appearing at Track 1 in Week 2 would be 1st, 4th, 8th, 12th, 16th, 20th, 24th etc in the series, Track 2 would see 2nd, 5th, 9th, 13th etc. Round 3: Same format as week 2 and then repeat for how ever long the series/season would last for, could be 4 rounds in October or many more depending how many tracks would want to run and how soon they could start. Finish off with a Top 16 Shootout at the NSS, winner take all. This way all British riders could earn some money and keep their hands in. Also would be a lot cheaper to run with no GP Stars and expensive foreigners... maybe the shape of things to come, who knows?
  9. I was toying with the idea of getting a ticket for that... Don't think I'll bother now you've said that, sounds very dodgy, will leave it until much nearer the time I think
  10. That's a long trip... I'm surprised the SoN hasn't been moved to Poland, wouldn't surprise me if it was
  11. If any Speedway were to be run this season would you attend or are you done for the year?
  12. I know, I did see that and I agree that it was right for Glasgow at that time. Where I take issue with what you said more recently was that you said that Glasgow were smarter back in June than the rest of the leagues are now. I disagree with that, if it was right for the rest of the club's in the league to wait until the last possible minute they shouldn't be criticised for it.
  13. With the announcement this week of the cancellation of the British Leagues it got me thinking about how to stage meaningful Speedway. Who on here would attend an Individual British Speedway Championship Series? Or is it team Speedway only for you guys? I don't know how many British riders there are these days but you could run with say 2 or 3 groups of 16 riders with the top 16 after each round being split up to "headline" at each track for the next round of 3 matches all leading to the top 16 at the end of the qualifiers to ride in a final at the end of the season at the NSS.
  14. 100% agree for Glasgow... The point I was debating was to say that what was good for Glasgow on the 1st of June was not the right decision for the rest of the league's and to say that Glasgow were smarter in taking their decision when they did while everybody else hung on I just don't agree with... And while there is no Speedway to go to I have nothing better to do other than have a beer and debate these pedantic points
  15. My point was Fromafar was saying that Glasgow were the smart ones pulling the plug when they did and that they were smarter than the rest of the league. "Speedway without normal attendances was never going to be viable, the Glasgow Promotion worked that out long before the rest, which tells me something, they’re smarter.!!" Well in hindsight, saying that after the League was pulled is fine, but who would have pulled the League at the beginning of June, when potentially you could still run for a 5 to 6 month period? We could quite easily have been running from the beginning of August had the government known its @rse from its elbow and Glasgow could have sat it out as it's not good business for them.
  16. I suppose it's a bit like the calling off of a meeting based on the weather forecast, if the rain comes you look smart, if the sun is blazing down you look a bit foolish. Obviously Glasgow had their own reasons for calling their season off so early but at the beginning of June with the prospect of Speedway starting up in Poland and for 25% capacity being allowed in a few weeks later it seemed like the sensible thing to do for Britain to hold off until August at the latest. Far be it from me to defend the BSPA, as I'm normally one of the first to criticise, but on this occasion I think they've done exactly the right thing. It also sounds as if there may have been issues with Eurosport as well, which Glasgow obviously didn't have to take into account. What do you think they should do about the GP series?
  17. I just hope you're not sat at home waiting for a delivery when it's raining To be fair, you're saying that with the benefit of hindsight, it could quite easily have gone the other way and they could have been sat there with the shutters down while all other clubs were playing to bumper summer crowds. Maybe it's not down to the sport to classify itself but the authorities class the sport and tell them what guidelines to work to?
  18. The BBC only ever mentions anything when it's something bad, I wouldn't worry about it too much the BBC is totally irrelevant these days to anybody outside of London and in hindsight it's probably a blessing that Speedway never got involved with them, can you imagine the scrutiny it would be coming under in these modern times with our lack of diversity? It'd be leading the news headlines every night
  19. I think the crowds for Non League Football will be massive, Sports fans have been starved of sport to attend for months... I've not been for an evening out since last October! I'd go and watch Speedway at any level at the moment
  20. And what about the possibility of Individual meetings?
  21. What about the great nation of Cornwall? Chris Harris 2021 World Champion!
