  1. Another "average" performance from Fred last night, just like his whole season has been so far
  2. How has Chuganob got wild card's for these 2 GP's (assuming he's riding tonight) is it the PZM that has selected him? Is it because he's the best up and coming "Pole"? Surely when he hits 24 he'll turn into a Russian again. Why aren't they backing their own talent?
  3. Quite right... give 'em a metal star badge and a gun, that'd get the riders to the tapes!
  4. The only trouble with that is people can be a bit funny about where they watch their Speedway from, I know I am, when at the NSS I always prefer to stand in the south stand at the back in the middle, can't be doing with all that sitting down nonsense (). Whenever I go to any track I always go and watch from "my spot" 1. I hate to rain on your parade but doubling up ain't disappearing anytime soon because the powers that be have run the sport down to such a state that it's not operable without it, not for a few years anyway until some of the kids come through to sufficient age/standard. If there's not enough riders for 2 leagues there definitely aren't going to be enough for 1. You're right though the sport has got to move away from this model. 2. Totally agree, there's too many scenarios, I can never remember whether it's 6 points, more than 6 point or less than 6 points... and Speedway the only sport where a draw is not a draw, try explaining that to a noob. 3. No, 15 heats for me all day long... AND a full second half. 4. I quite like to hear from the riders as opposed to tractor racing, happy birthday messages, presenters inanely prattling on about nothing having one sided "conversations" with the fans. There shouldn't be need really other than to give a result or the line-up to a race. 5. Agreed Of course you do... I was forgetting that you're a promotion that is actually switched on to what your punters want and willing to move into the 21st century. Keep up the good work!
  5. The only time I've ever seen a start marshall get a rider up to the tapes was at Bradford (could have been Peterborough) when the starter grabbed John Jorgensen's handlebars and physically dragged him to the tapes, he was not happy about it
  6. The trouble with that is that the Start Marshall is provided by the home club and will probably be a member of the supporters club and be regaled from head to toe in club merchandise (if available ) under their stripey tops. They'd have to be "supplied" to each meeting in the same way that an "impartial" referee is, much like in Football with the lino's.
  7. Actually come to think of it they do make sure that riders don't encroach on each others gates, can't think of much else though other than to be ignored by the riders on everything else
  8. I would have thought there was still gate position choice still to race for and the one or both of the remaining 2 riders could have blown their engines or got injured. I thought that was the whole point of not awarding races.
  9. We'll have to wait until racers & royals logs in, he's the only one that truly knows what's going on
  10. Sarcasm alert: He's not been the same since breaking his neck... can't think why...
  11. Have you ever thought of doing some kind of Facebook Live broadcast? Not necessarily of any racing but behind the scenes, rider/manager interviews, maybe replays of incidents etc. I'm sure if you went to the local FE College there would be a number of media study students that would jump at the chance of producing something for you... just a thought, you may already be doing it.
  12. In fact you can see him 14 miles down the road 2 nights earlier
  13. Unfortunately I'm being realistic, judging by the crowd I saw against Redcar in the "big reopening"... no club can be sustained with those crowds. I was there supporting the club before you go any further
  14. LEICESTER: Hans Andersen, Dan Thompson, Kyle Howarth, Nick Morris, Ryan Douglas, Joe Thompson, Zaine Kennedy. BIRMINGHAM: Chris Harris, Valentin Grobauer, James Shanes, Ashley Morris, Erik Riss, Paco Castagna, Jason Edwards. Probably the biggest question with this one is whether at the end of the season Leicester will have had any points they can pick up from this one expunged from the records.
  15. I think you'll find it's too much trouble for lot of clubs
  16. I've just had a look at Nottingham Panthers (just picked them at random) Ice Hockey Web shop as speedway is often compared to Ice Hockey and well... their offerings put speedway to shame. Looked at a couple of others, similar story
  17. A lot of the shirts with any hint of a design are produced by a Polish company called dispeed.
  18. Surely "quality" merchandise is part and parcel of "promotion" these days. It seems to be in most other sports. Have "the powers that be" approached a proper clothing manufacturer to produce it? In the same way that they do with the TV deal. It's not like clubs are in competition with each other with merchandise, a Glasgow fan is never going to buy an Edinburgh shirt and vice versa
