  1. They looked new and unused to me... Yesterday you had me questioning what my ears had told me... today you have me questioning what my eyes tell me 2 questions: were you at the meeting yesterday and did you see the pile of tyres at the NSS?
  2. I saw hundreds of them stock piled in the open air at the NSS back on Easter Monday, all exposed to the elements (in Manchester!). Some of them were in a right state
  3. Taken from the Peterborough website this morning: "There was a sufficient number of tyres at the venue in order to run the meeting; however, with the failures taking place with alarming frequency, it was not safe to run the final five races of the meeting, and there was full agreement over this point." This is how I understood the announcement made over the PA
  4. 3 lap races next year until the stock of tyres have been used up
  5. Bet there's more chance of it going the same way as the last scheduled televised meeting at the showground!
  6. A certain Mr Dan Bewley has now become available again... i wonder if with the Aces injury problems and in the best interests of the sport he could make a Woffinden style play off return?
  7. Perhaps he's the only person on the planet that doesn't know about it... there are undiscovered tribes in the Amazon and even they know about the Karlsson corridor!
  8. Didn't Brennan do something similar to that the other night (Poole?)
  9. They failed some compound test i seem to remember, they were too soft or something
  10. I think there have been problems since day 1. I remember watching a load of riders and officials in the pits at Peterborough either this season or last having long discussions about the tyres. There may have been problems we just don't know about them?
  11. I thought there were issues with them during their first year and they had to abandon using them
  12. Weren't the Anlas tyres abandoned from being the GP tyre initially because of quality issues?
  13. IF it was a matter of allocation and not how many were available at the stadium that's unforgivable
  14. Simon Stead said safety issues when interviewed on Eurosport but that's fair enough, I stand corrected.
  15. The issue was over the tyres not lasting 1 race not the quantity at the stadium, that's how I understood it. I think whoever posted ran out of tyres on updates may have it wrong
  16. The track was a bit slick, nothing out of the ordinary though... i think it was more of a matter of the tyres not lasting even 1 race rather than them running out of them. If you've ever seen them piled up around the back of the NSS you'll know the kind of quality they are... Fortunately I didn't make the round trip from Leicester to Belle Vue for this one (I did!)
  17. Ref in the pits at the interval, assume he's talking exploding tyres! Ref now heading back to the pits for more tyre talk. Sweet Caroline playing over the PA to keep the crowd "entertained" In 45 years of attending Speedway I've never seen a tyre disintegrate, blow and hit the following rider... at least they're cheap
