  1. I think you'll find I mentioned Grober... you should have quoted me and replied
  2. It's a shame the council aren't so meddling in their observation of such practices instead of sticking their noses in on other matters during the restrictions. I managed to sneak a bottle of water in in my back pocket and it's a good job I did as I had been for a run in the afternoon and was severely de-hydrated and needed to replace my liquids... surely that is a health and safety issue!
  3. It was a nice evening so I thought I'd go along to support the club. I've not seen dust like that from a track since the mid 80's at Long Eaton, it's a good job the wind was blowing away from the crowd or it would had to have been face masks back on! And who is Valetin Grobauer? I've never heard of him, is he a mate of Eric Riss? He did OK though and was well on the pace and should be quite an asset for the Brummies if they can survive.
  4. As I mentioned on the other thread, the crowd was pityful and I can't see them lasting the season with crowds like that
  5. Pityful... can't see them lasting the season out with a crowd like that!
  6. It looked pretty healthy (by today's standards), it was a beautiful summer's evening... for exact figures, ask somebody on the turnstiles, as somebody once told me
  7. teams are coming and going more recently too
  8. the Sheffield match before the Sheffield match that was called off... some superb "proper" Speedway that night. The BV match was good score wise, but the "racing" wasn't up to much imo
  9. All views are my own... and count for absolutely nothing.

  10. You only need a dog with an, ahem, indigestion problem and all of a sudden you can be in profit
  11. It can be, yes. Just like it was the other week against Sheffield when they could have easily called it off.
  12. The ones on Twitter? Yeah he is in that shot but he came out on one for heat 12 with a more rounded top (I'm not a technical person as you can tell lol)
  13. Was pretty consistent in 2014 tbf. 8 points away from being World Champion. But I know exactly what you mean
  14. Track was poor for racing last night, Edwin may be having a little death in the box (if you know what I mean) because of the race times but it doesn't make for great Speedway racing. And... What on earth is Bomber riding these days? They don't appear to be GM's, I know he's dabbled with GTR's in the past, is he now riding Goddens? Or something else? Is he riding subsidised engines? His e/f in Heat 12 was the turning point in the match, when he came round to the tapes I could see he was on a "new" whatever it is and thought to myself, I hope that doesn't pack up and within yards of leaving the tapes it had.
  15. Especially for BV & Swindon. Leicester not too clever either!
  16. You may want to read this: https://start.ticketco.events/uk/blog/tips-to-deliver-perfect-sports-commentary-with-examples/
  17. There's been some cracking GP's there in the past, used to love watching Crumpy blasting round the bends up at the fence
  18. Just look at the F1 yesterday... it's ignited the whole season!
  19. I also remember a meeting at Peterborough being cancelled on a day similar to today because they had overwatered the straight in front of the grandstand, because of the shadow it casts... I remember the guy who did the track (Richard Greer?) being forced onto the mic to explain himself and apologise to the crowd. I'm sure it'll be fine tonight though... looking forward to it.
  20. OK... I'll make it easier for you, can you tell me just the profit or loss from a club over a season, any club, your choice, any season... I'll leave it up to you
