  1. I caught up with the SGP3 last night and it reminded me of the sport I fell in love with in the late 70's... maybe 250's are the way to go?
  2. Was non alcoholic bubbly at the SGP3 last weekend, which I caught up with last night, the best Speedway I've seen in a long long time!
  3. I can't believe what I've just seen! I've just managed to catch up with this after hearing good reports and I must say it was one of the most entertaining Speedway meetings I think I've ever seen... it was much more like the sport I fell in love with in the the late 70's. I'd love to see a full meeting with the senior's riding these 250cc machines, don't suppose it'll ever happen though. Well done to Axeman jnr!
  4. I was surprised when he went in the first place, he does like to get signed up early though and it's very local
  5. I've just listened to Nigel Tolley on this week's British Speedway podcast and very interesting it was too. A number of things sprang to mind while listening... although he did sound very positive about Birmingham's future it's not anything we all haven't heard before from various promoters at various clubs down the years, the proof of the pudding will ultimately be in the eating. A lot of it, I would suspect, hinges on the "verbal" agreement with the stadium landlords, I just hope their word is as good as their bond when they open their energy bills in October and January! He also said he was very disappointed that they didn't see any benefit from the City hosting the Commonwealth Games. I accept that they couldn't run during the week of the games, as it turns out due to noise issues, which nobody on here mentioned amongst their other fantasy suggestions, but when they could run, the night before the opening ceremony, they put on a run of the mill league match against Poole, if you don't know anything about Speedway then Birmingham vs Poole? So what? Who cares? As it turned out nobody really! I hope Birmingham do make it to the tapes next season and unless he's on a multi year contract at Berwick I can see Chris Harris making a return to Perry Barr.
  6. Just an observation. There was none at the CLRC either, though the trophies at the BU21 were better than the CLRC lumps of glass plastic
  7. Well done to Leon Flint fully deserved winner. Despite what some say we've got some great kids coming through (even Drew Kemp!) I just hope our shambolic league structure doesn't throttle their progress!
  8. Come to think of it neither have I... they were so friendly when I went over there. My main point really was what is an Aussie doing riding in the BRITISH under 21 final? Has he got British parents or something?
  9. Got the massive delay between heat 20 and the semi to come while they change tyres... they don't mess about changing airbags at brum do they!
  10. Well... this track is certainly a good training ground for Cardiff for our youngsters!
  11. Nice avoidance there from Bailey, that could have been nasty if he hadn't have jumped over Perry's bike
  12. To be fair although there's a great disparity in ability, when riders of similar ability have met there's been some good on track tussles
  13. Didn't Sweden run 6 man teams (with no guesting) during Covid because they had to?
  14. I went for the Leicester match and it wasn't much better than last season... hoping to see better tonight
  15. I do hope not. Bugger Eurosport they had their chance and ran out at such a pace to cause its cancellation! If it's on the weekend at the NSS with no Eurosport coverage I will definitely be there!
