I always used to enjoy my visits to Monmore... but then I was following Coventry and we usually came away with the points, maybe that had something to do with it
Perhaps things need to run their natural course then and something start up from the ashes... I don't know, I'm really lost for words now, ones that haven't already been said a thousand times anyway.
I've seen 3 Yanks in the last few days and I would say the future looks quite bright for them, Becker and Nicol were impressive at the NSS earlier today and Ruml impressed at Leicester on Saturday night.
Surely the BSPL can't just stand by any longer and just watch the sport evaporate before their eyes. They HAVE to make Speedway clubs viable to run, the ONLY way to do this is to put a cost cap in place. Whether this means pay rates or sealed engines or whatever it is, please do SOMETHING!
Isn't it ironic that after 20 years of TV coverage, Starting with Sky then BT Sport and finally the jokers at Eurosport it is only now in potentially the final year of the SGP coverage on BT Sport that we are finally getting the kind of in depth analysis that the coverage has been missing from the very start. It's a shame that Scott Nicholls took so long to get a shot at presenting the show and I thought he did a pretty good job. I remember watching Gary Lineker's first match of the day years ago and wooden doesn't even begin to describe it. I hope he becomes the face of Speedway on BT Sport if they continue with the SGP coverage.
I've just checked the regs and it's at the refs discretion as to what is foul, unfair or dangerous riding... anyway it wasn't any of them for me, not that it really matters... just seemed a bit unfair of the ref.
I don't know, officially, what the definition of unfair riding is but I would have said that it was to deliberately impede a rider causing him to fall. In a first bend melee, traditionally it's been an all 4 back.
