  1. Was thinking the same, a far cry from over 100,000 at Katowice... and speedway in Poland had supposed to be booming
  2. I was always of the opinion the Leigh Adams and/or Emil were the best riders to never be world champion but when you look at the stats Andreas Jonsson and Jarek Hampel have a pretty good claim to this unwanted title too. With Magic and Fred catching them up quickly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Speedway_Grand_Prix_statistics
  3. I have 2 abiding memories of Colin Pratt, he first came to my attention when being interviewed by ITV after a Coventry vs Cradley Heath match by Gary Newbon where he was disagreeing that he should have used a tactical or something and saying his reserves cost them and he'd have to get some new ones! All in his gruff style, I think it's fair to say he wasn't a natural for TV. The 2nd time, I was walking back to my car in the Oxford car park after a Bees defeat and Wayne Carter had scored 1 point and a fan made a comment to him as he walked by saying something like how about Mr 1 point, he cost us... Pratty then bellowed "Piss Off, alright!" at him across the car park... it was quite comical! Still makes me laugh to this day. An undoubted "character" of the sport and another sad loss
  4. I thought that about the track at Scunny last night... but it was fine. Don't know what the drainage is like at Leicester... looks like the CL is heading for an Oct 31st final though
  5. Tonight's match just been called off, restaging next Saturday... I wonder why not tomorrow afternoon? You'd think Scunny would forfeit the match
  6. Don't forget fan entertainment That's why they've got to stop trying to rearrange these postponed fixtures if they're going to call them off so easily
  7. Was thinking the other day that this has already been done in the past hasn't it? Wasn't Peter York in charge for a few years? Can't remember why he stepped down or was be reelected or whatever
  8. October 2019: Premiership P/O SF National League PO SF British Youth Championship Round 7 National League Riders' Championship Premiership P/O SF Premiership Supporters Cup Championship KO Cup Final Premiership Grand Final.1 National League Grand Final.1 Championship Grand Final.1 Championship KO Cup Final British Youth Championship National League Grand Final.2 National League KOC Final All postponed because of rain! All events that should have been big crowd pullers
  9. If it's anything like the coverage of British Speedway they'll just not be televising the final rounds... that's blown me away too
  10. I can tell you what the viewing figures will be for the Sheffield vs Belle Vue match, now rearranged for next Monday, it will be Zero as they aren't covering it! Eurosport play a blinder again!
  11. Debatable... you sound as though you don't think Trick should be involved?
  12. He's probably the most recently recognised name that's not currently riding maybe behind Bruce Penhall. He may not have the cut through in this country but I bet he has around Europe
  13. I assume he would/should be used to face the press, attend promotional events and wine and dine potential sponsors
  14. It is fair though, Lublin had exactly the same opportunity to put together the team Wroclaw did... What would have been unfair is if the final had been run over 11 rounds with 6 of them being held in Wroclaw, 1 at Lublin, and 4 others on neutral tracks
  15. Poole run it as a "rules no object" hobby though
