  1. I made a point of keeping a close eye on him last time I saw him in the flesh as he usually flies under the radar whenever I've seen him. And he looks to be a very good rider technically, not wild, no daft moves. He reminds me a bit of Lee Richardson, Lee could hardly score a point in the early stages of his career and it was a wonder that he stuck at it. If you're the type of rider who is a "steady eddy" you really need to sort your gating out and that's probably Drew's main deficiency. I don't know the guy personally, just from what I've heard on podcasts etc. and he seems a very level headed young lad with a good outlook on the sport. Like I say if you're a see where I am at the first bend and stay there merchant he needs to make sure he's in the points at the first bend, can't really see him riding it balls out scraping the fence pulling Zmarzlik moves to get by his opponents.
  2. Just the kind of association speedway needs! Couple this with Michael Jackson being mentioned in the WSM pitch and the sport will be back in the papers quicker than you can say noncey nonceington
  3. because it's a numbers game?
  4. I don't believe it! Brain injuries aren't just limited to memory, they can leave your memory intact and alter your personality... James Cracknell & Richard Hammond are 2 high profile examples. It's often only those that are closest to the person that will notice this and for others that interact with them they will seem to be "normal". Take a look at this:
  5. Condolences on the loss of your friend I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one
  6. The tone of Garry's post read to me that PC had suffered a stroke and wasn't the 'old' PC. He then says the book will stay on his shelf unread again forever... R&R has questioned whether PC's personal appearance should be cancelled! If PC's actions have been exacerbated by a medical condition... where's the humanity and understanding, no he's a "bitter old man" and there's "no excuse for this appalling behaviour". Having watched a family member decline with a brain related illness they were not the person they used to be and instead of treating them how I always had done I had to adapt the way I interacted with them. And again I say, a personal note has been brought into the public domain, which imo it shouldn't have been.
  7. Perhaps they'll take a leaf out of the BSPL book and just ignore them
  8. I wonder where Cradley Heath will run their home meetings?
  9. I hope nobody in your family suffers a stroke and you just abandon them because they're not like they were before... that's quite sad
  10. I agree with pretty much everything you say, especially PC's health problems. I haven't read the book and it'd be a pretty boring read I suspect if we didn't have his opinion on things, what I think has crossed the line is the sharing of a personal note written by PC. It has nothing to do with any of us really and shouldn't be used as a stick to beat him with by some.
  11. Personally I don't think there's any reason for PC to be cancelled. He's obviously got beef with Belle Vue and the people involved with the club, it probably should have stayed private and especially his personal issues with a recently deceased member of the Belle Vue staff. However disgraceful those comments were it should have stayed between the 2 of the people involved. This dirty laundry shouldn't be washed in public.
  12. Is Puk signed for the whole season or just the start of it?
  13. Fast Freddie Lindgren turning out for this one, thought it was worth a mention
  14. The same Danny Ford, BSPL Director, who said that 2023 CL fixtures would be run 2H2A? That Danny Ford, BSPL Director? Happy New Year
  15. If last season was anything to go by you'll be able to watch most of the Thursday night matches if you're a Sheffield fan All matches were due to be available this year until 31/10 but due to the Edinburgh match (I think) they made them available through the winter too as a gesture of good will
  16. I wish we had a "Rosco" button where we could turn him on or off
  17. £60-£80 on Beer! I suppose it's the best way to watch Speedway at Lynn
  18. Really? Didn't realise he was an ex rider... it's good to have friends in high places though
  19. You can view the Council meeting at the following link: Scroll to around 2:29:00 and the discussion on Brandon takes place for around 15 minutes. This Tony Gillias seems a bit of a superstar!
  20. I don't know do you? Perhaps he's not committed enough? Like I've mentioned he wasn't going to come back to the UK a while back, without being too personal he seems a bit "big" for a Speedway rider. I can only hope that the special one has gotten to the bottom of the "reasons" for his "crap" season last year and can rectify them... If he's just picked him because of a low average on the back of a crap season as soon as the transfer window opens he'll be out... again!
