  1. He needs to be fit for the upcoming tobogganing season
  2. To be fair to Buster (which I hate to be ) he was only doing what Football managers do up and down the country on the touch line week in week out. Or a Toto Wolff, perhaps Toto had seen this programme prior to going to Abu Dhabi. Maybe Buster was playing up to the cameras a bit.
  3. It was only pretty depressing because that's the slant the BBC wanted to put on it with their funeral music sound track. Compare that with the razzmatazz coverage from Sky only a few years later.
  4. There's a couple of podcasts out in the ether with Martin being interviewed, they make for very interesting listening
  5. Only by himself maybe... I remember reading an interview with him once where he said it never occurred to him that he wasn't going to be world champion. I also remember reading an interview with Martin Vaculik after he won his first GP and he was going on about how he wanted to emulate Tony Rickardsson, although he's a pretty decent rider he's quite a way off TR standards at the moment.
  6. It's a pretty amusing press release if you read it in the context of Joe being a rider in his own right
  7. Oxford isn't in the middle of no where though...
  8. Dan is undoubtedly the best rider at the moment, but rider's progress at different rates especially when you throw injuries into the mix. Look at the Worrall's respective careers, when they first started I thought Richie was going to be the good one, but then Steve kicked on to become an almost international class rider, broke his leg, struggled to come back and now I'd say they're pretty level again.
  9. I think the best thing Joe can do is to change his surname... Like Mikael Karlsson, maybe it would stop all of the inevitable comparisons. People don't seem to be able to talk about Dan without mentioning Joe in the same post (I've just done it myself!). I thought Dan had a solid season, progressing from reserve to become a solid No 2 at home and should only get better in his 2nd season. Joe, a solid reserve and again should only improve in his 2nd season.
  10. I think it would be terrible if they were to get rid of either of them. For me they give the club a bit of identity, being relatively local lads (I think) and associated with the club for a number of years now unlike some of the here today gone tomorrow riders we've had since the club came back out of retirement. I don't see why twins/brothers always seem to come as a job lot either, bogof?
  11. Yeah, I think I'm mixing him up with Mike Hampson, a rider of similar ability around at the same time
  12. I was just about to post Glenn Hornby... I always thought he was a half decent rider, not sure why he packed it in, didn't he have a spell with Long Eaton I seem to recall
  13. I was discussing the "4 hours at the Capitol" documentary (which is an excellent watch btw) with my mum the other week, she said she didn't like it because of all the bad language in it, a lot of F bombs were dropped. I said to her you didn't like it because of the language but didn't even mention all the violence and actually seeing somebody shot dead on screen... which I found shocking... go figure!
  14. https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/personalised-xxl-canvas-prints-just-ps28-delivered-at-mypicture-3826235 DM me for my bank details or you can just send me a canvas and we'll call it quits
  15. I was listening to somebody on the radio the other day dancing around calling somebody from New Zealand a kiwi! Or soon to be K word I clearly remember the intro to Channel 9's cricket coverage, must have been a world cup and even in that intro the song referred to the the Pakistanis as Paki's and the West Indians as Windies. Offence is not always given but often taken.
  16. Wasn't he taken to hospital in a shopping trolley?
  17. It sounds to me that this case is more based around bullying rather than racism but the focus has turned to the racist element. Bullying goes on in all walks of life, I have come across it in the past and called it out when I could see that a deaf woman I was working with was being bullied. Work place bullying is prevalent and probably more so in sports clubs where there will be a less diverse set of "team" members. I've read about Geoffrey Boycott being tied naked to a chair by Ian Botham and you only have to listen to some of the stories that Andrew Flintoff tells and see the way he acts with other people to see that the guy is just a bully and in a competitive environment of Alpha males it does need somebody to call it out and eliminate it. A worrying aspect of this is it's trial by media, it's a he said vs he said case, there is no evidence (as yet) other than those that have admitted what they have done and said. Look at the Harvey Weinstein case, no evidence ever produced just she said vs he said. Prince Andrew, not convicted of anything (admittedly due to him avoiding answering the accusations) but now he's openly being called a paedo on TV comedy shows. Jussie Smollet made allegations was instantly believed by all and sundry in the media until it was proved he was a fake.
  18. I signed up to Discovery+ this time last year as a freebie from Sky. I've just had an email from Sky telling me that as a Sky VIP customer I'll be getting it free again for the next year... Result!
  19. Taylor Lanning's got to pay for that camera he's dropped! Just a personal opinion but the montage looks a bit of a mess to me
  20. I read that and thought the same, but to be fair it did say "traditional" AGM
  21. I did look at buying some merchandise to wear when attending the SoN, it was sold out then, I didn't comment on it but am now... so you can make that 4
