  1. I find the apathy, from many, to the rigging of the pay offs absolutely astounding! As I've said elsewhere I find this the worst decision this so called sport has made in living memory, and there have been a few! For me it cuts to the heart of whether Speedway is a sport or sports entertainment. EVERY Speedway supporter should be contacting their lesser spotted Fan's Voice Representative and club to voice their disgust on what has happened, whether it be a detailed email or a "this just ain't on" type of email, because believe me this will be the thin end of the wedge, if they can do this, they'll do anything! If enough of us message them threatening to boycott the pay off semis (which I will be doing), hopefully they will get the message. Here are the contacts you need to be messaging: BSPL: office@britishspeedway.co.uk Belle Vue: info@bellevue-speedway.com Ipswich: enquiries@ipswichwitches.co Leicester: info@leicesterspeedway.com Leicester Fans' Voice Representative: LionsFansVoice@gmail.com Sheffield: office@sheffield-speedway.com Direct Message Phil Morris on Twitter/X Of course you will receive no reply, but if enough of us voice our disapproval/disgust they will hear it.
  2. We had a right old wobble last night against Lynn! Douglas, Cook & Hagon all carrying injuries and yes the pay offs do usually provide a step up in racing, but... I just can't buy into it anymore, what they have done with the rigging of the pay off spots, for me, is the single worst decision that has been made in the so called sport (and there's been a few), it cuts right to the heart of what Speedway is, is it a sport or is it sports entertainment? For me the rigging of the pay offs says to me that it's the latter and I'm sorry, I just ain't interested in that.
  3. Wow! Okay, do you have his contact details by any chance?
  4. As he's the only one that has commented on it and we'll never find out the true goings on I'm afraid he's going to have to take the blame. If he had anything about him this would have been a resigning matter and as he hasn't, he's proved himself to be as corrupt as the rest of them.
  5. He's at least complicit in it. Shows me he's got no scruples, he's gone way way down in my estimation. There's no way I would have gone along with this, it's a matter of principles
  6. That's me probably done for the season, I'm sorry I just can't buy into the pay offs anymore, I'll maybe go to the finals if we reach them otherwise I'm done!
  7. I accept! Now when are these imaginary zoom call meetings that were promised by Mr Morris
  8. Well, Bomber wasn't looking where he was going in heat 1! Dougy first bend incident, Lambert dropped it in an instant to miss Lawson who had fallen, Cook seemed to fall on his own and Becker nearly lost it on turn 4 in his first outing, track is super slick
  9. Somebody said similar at Oxford last Thursday and he came out for his next race and finished the night off... fingers crossed
  10. Does anybody know who their Fans’ Voice representative is? All applications should have been made by 5pm on Friday December 1st 2023. We should all be lobbying our reps to tell them that the rigging of the pay offs absolutely stinks! At the very least we should all be emailing our clubs or on their socials asking who our rep is and how to contact them. And before anybody says, yes I know they don't actually exist.
  11. I'm sorry but I just can't understand anybody that can take this competition seriously anymore.
  12. Who cares, it's all rigged anyway
  13. Doesn't Nicholls have child support "issues", meaning he can't/doesn't want to ride every meeting on the calendar
  14. Kingy did appear to shut off a fraction early allowing Edwards to pip him on the line... which is unforgivable really.
  15. No, they only had reports from the 1st leg of the semi from Monmore
  16. How do you make that one out? Surely you've got (another) BV vs Sheffield now and a possible final whereas if it hadn't have been rigged you would have had Leicester and possibly no final
  17. I'm not sure if he tunes them does he? I thought he "serviced" them. Isn't Picko on an AshTec engine that Howarth services?
  18. That's it, they didn't show the Wolves vs Sheffield 1st leg because the BV vs Ippo 1st leg had been rained off the week before and they decided to show that as the 2nd leg.
  19. Didn't they not show both legs of the pay offs live last year? Still doesn't answer the question of why rig/fix the fixtures as they have?
  20. Of course they didn't... it was just Mr Morris trying to justify the unjustifiable. If they'd stuck to the original cut off date and just called it at that point, I think most fans would have accepted it and just thought well that's what you get when you allow KL to do what KL did with all their call offs, also it wouldn't have been the first time that pay off places had been decided with outstanding fixtures to complete (I think). But somebody said no, we're going to switch the league table around and rig BV vs Sheff & Lions vs Ippo... and that is just totally unforgivable! 😠 Like you say if they'd also said at the outset that the top 4 will be decided at the end of the season by the management committee, again I think most fans would have accepted this. But no, we've all been to a load of matches since a team's top 4 place was secured for absolutely no sporting reason whatsoever.
  21. And do they change the rules on the eve of the pay offs?
  22. It's like the practice starts with no helmets on, there are a number of riders that still continue to do it and a lot of them do kind of almost starts, when is a start not a start? If you're not going to enforce these rules get them out of the rule book. I did notice that after his 2nd heat victory Bomber took his lanyard off to remove his goggles but then did put his lanyard back on, so maybe somebody did have a word with him.
