Leicester Lions 2022 Line up
IainB replied to FishersGate's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Why have a Cubs team then if you're constantly going to overlook the riders you are developing? It's debatable whether Max Clegg is "alot" better than Connor Coles -
They've ridden Speedway in Australia and Italy in extreme heat, later in the evening but I doubt they were also racing against a curfew

I'm not so sure he's "hyped up" but I agree he's not a CL rider in its current setup. He probably should be a decent 2nd string come reserve in a proper strength 2nd division. They should have promoted from within imo. -
Because they've only got an extra 30 minutes to prep the track in probably the hottest conditions of the year, a track that's reportedly been a bit on the dodgy side all year and with kicking off at 8 it may bring the curfew into play if there's any faffing about

Will they be supplying deck chairs and free ice cream?

Redcar vs. Leicester (The Jube) 15/7/22
IainB replied to Gringo's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Where have you been... did you miss the big announcement across all the media outlets? -
Yes, the start has been put back by 30 minutes to allow for extra track work as they can't get on there until after 6pm, because of the doggies... doesn't bode well

Sheffield vs Peterborough 14/7
IainB replied to Purplepanthernotred's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I must admit I thought this thread would be a bit busier today, perhaps people have just given up... All of what you say is absolutely spot on of course... how many times do you hear the phrase "circumstances totally beyond our control"? They'll probably wheel that one out for the re-wiring of the starting tapes, coming up with some excuse about how it's the stadium owners responsibility. If it's effecting your business, you sort it out! Reading the match report on the Sheffield website, it was just bad luck, so there you go. -
Now I may have misremembered, but when I attended my first match at Leicester back in the 1977 season the admission price was £0.75, if you run that through an inflation calculator it equates to that being around £5.75 in today's money. To go to watch a film at the cinema, you can watch any film at any time for £4.99. The price of going to Speedway has spiralled out of control

Yeah I know, but there are some people on here insinuating that Glasgow just take who they want, it takes two (or 3 of you include the rider) to tango

Puk replacement
-
Have they snapped him up as well?
-
I thought Basso was a Poole asset and they decided not to use him because of Danish commitments on a Wednesday night? So Poole let him go to Glasgow As an asset of the club they can refuse to loan the rider out and demand a full transfer fee

One: "any adhoc Speedway", regardless of credibility, integrity, or relevance... NO! I won't have this, we have the Jubilee Trophy! How relevant is that! much better than the irrelevant Summer Trophy... which appears to have never existed. Secondly: we have tracks doing "their very best", some tracks don't even do their very best, they just expect people to turn up. Thirdly: Although Speedway GB Team has achieved well deserved success in the SoN, the rest of the time they only seem to ride on the continent with a rag tag bunch of riders who are available. A proper national team has first call on ALL of their riders and hold proper test matches home and abroad. Successful sports have successful leaders in charge... don't forget we have the Scummy centre green presenter running things from his caravan in deepest darkest Lincolnshire making things up as he goes along to suit his own club, which ain't bad when compared to Liberty Media running their F1 operation from a tent in Denver or the Premier League directing operations from a Nissen Hut next to Paddington station

I thought that if he signed for Berwick first in this country, he's their asset and won't be going anywhere without Berwick's say so. It won't be any fault of Glasgow's if he ends up there next season, Berwick will have sold him or loaned him out... that's if the asset system is the same as it's always been.
-
If he's signed for Berwick why would Glasgow be snapping him up? I don't get it?
-
Summers punching the air there as his team gift another league point to the Bandits
-
Not as much as the Cheetahs! They've pressed the self destruct button. Brilliant!
-
Brilliant! Now I'm sure Lee Kilby is a nice bloke, he really seems it... But... The Edinburgh match last week... Brilliant! The Berwick match... Brilliant! Berwick, bottom of the league... Brilliant! I wish somebody would tell him not everything is Brilliant... BRILLIANT!

New signing soon according to JP on the BSPL podcast

Armadale look exceptionally weak despite tracking star of the future Lee Complin. Could be a long one with a sun delay, though the forecast at the moment says cloud cover on Saturday night.

Averages (Premiership vs Championship)
IainB replied to baiden's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It's funny that pure statistics don't always tell the whole story, the one that caught my eye Kyle Howarth 7.13 9.38 -2.25 Hans Andersen 5.97 8.19 -2.22 On the face of it you'd say that Hans has had a disaster of a season, but Kyle a great season -
