  1. I thought he opened his van door and fell out amongst a load of beer tins... if you believe some of the things you read on here
  2. Scunthorpe? I'll be there... I searched for a hotel room last weekend for what it'd cost me to travel from Leicester... found a pub/inn 20 miles from Cardiff for £40, so with my GP ticket for £22 it was a no brainer
  3. Ok, lets look at probably the daftest fixture ever ridden in British Speedway, and that takes some beating... Pretend Plymouth vs Pretend Birmingham, both teams made up of riders pretending to replace a rider pretending to ride for a pretend club: Pretend Plymouth: 1. Richie Worral: Kings Lynn & Leicester pretending to be Ben Barker: Plymouth & Ipswich (+Wetherspoons) 2. R/R for Alfie Bowtell: Plymouth & Kent 3. Lewis Kerr: Kings Lynn (at the time) & Redcar pretending to be Ed Kennett, who was pretending to be a Speedway rider 4. Danyon Hume: Ippo (at the time?) & Glasgow pretending to be MPT: Plymouth & Peterborough 5. Josh Pickering: Kings Lynn & Edinburgh pretending to be Hans Andersen: Plymouth & Peterborough 6. Ben Morley: Plymouth & Kent 7. Harry McGurk: Plymouth & Belle Vue Pretend Birmingham: 1. Kye Thomson: Edinburgh pretending to be Claus Vissing, who was pretending to be a Birmingham rider 2. Jacob Hook: Edinburgh pretending to be Josh Auty? 3. R/R for Stefan Nielsen: Birmingham... but wasn't there 4. Broc Nicol: Glasgow pretending to be Ashley Morris? 5. Justin Sedgmen: Birmingham & Sheffield 6. Lee Complin: Armadale pretending to be James Shanes: Birmingham & Mildenhall 7. James Pearson: Birmingham! Woo Hoo! an actual Birmingham rider! ... I'm going for a lie down
  4. Add them both together and you need to be Inspector Morse to actually determine who is guesting for who and from which club! At the moment there just seems to be a pool of riders that clubs are picking to get a match on... with the fat kid stood by himself as the last pick!
  5. I'm generally not adversed to guests but for me the majority of the team i.e. 4 riders should be from your club, 2 guests + 1 R/R. Anything more than that should not be run as an "official" fixture imo.
  6. Can't disagree with anything he said except he said they were rushing it through 2mins, 2mins, 2mins... this clearly was NOT the case. Eurosport seemed to be calling the shots with zero flexibility in the schedule of the meeting
  7. How many guests/RR's in a single team is too many?
  8. Depends what the "actual" length of the track is... i mean Plymouth could be FIM length if they rode over 5 laps lol
  9. Yeah it's 260m which is the minimum length for an FIM track... seems a bit of a cheat though as it'll only be 260m for one lap... Plymouth are putting up a hell of a fight here with half a team
  10. Does a track have to be a minimum length then? Isn't Plymouth smaller? Has it always been like this at Armadale?
  11. No, never have been, nearly went to the Ace of Aces once, but they're few and far between these days. Seriously though, do you know the reason?
  12. Why is the finish line further along the straight from the start line? Is that legal? Are the canny Scots trying to get a bit more speedway for their money?
  13. Paco Castanga just said the shape of the Leicester track is weird! How very dare he
  14. Yeah, no acknowledgement. I think they're trying to estimate how much of the stadium to open up as R&R hints at... I foresee another massive balls up
  15. Got an email today from Discovery Events asking me if I was attending the SGP2 Also sorted my "app" ticket out... expecting a massive balls up trying to get in, gonna get there plenty early
  16. Just another case of speedway still being stuck in the 20th century. It's 2022 now and easier than ever for clubs to setup a group notification alert... but no we're still getting the equivalent of "meeting cancelled" messages written on old crisp boxes like I experienced once at Long Eaton!
  17. So he was guesting for himself? Just when you think you've seen it all...
  18. Anders Rowe guesting for Ippo tonight... can somebody remind me which club he's guesting from? Genuine question
  19. Great news... this forum would be a hell of a lot quieter without all of the Birmingham fiascos .
  20. I've been to 30 so far this season, Left my blinkers at home Leicester Birmingham Scumthorpe Peterborough Oxford Belle Vue
  21. remind me how many matches you've been to this season again?
  22. Don't think Bomber's too happy judging by his face last night and what he's just not said on Twitter
