  1. Has anybody seen these "ladies" race at all? What's the standard like? How many are there?
  2. I did say... or something like that, one thing is for sure you should not be allowed to call a meeting off until 10am on the day of the meeting at the earliest
  3. Not quite sure why this HAS to be run tonight?
  4. You've forgotten one slightly important thing in your list... the fans! This should have been called off at 10am. End of!
  5. All the dirt currently being bladed off the track while the ref watches on... riders not even changed into their racing gear! Can't hear what's being said over the PA as it ain't working down at the pits!
  6. Nothing to do with economics... the club have 2 opportunities to call the match off, if it's not called of by 6 they are committed to run. Look at the effort Poole put in last week to get the Redcar match on, Danny Ford said on the podcast that if it had been a "normal" match (ie. they hadn't put so much effort into promoting it with the Council being present) then they would have probably just called it off... and that says a lot about the current day promoter!
  7. I want to see Shovvy in a match race against Katie Gordon... I'd travel down to Wimbourne Road and pay good money to watch that!
  8. This is why the sport as a whole needs a call off policy... no call offs prior to 10 am on the day of the match, if you don't call it off at 10am you then can't call it off before 6pm... or something like that
  9. Except for the Women taking part in the sport... Do you have any video links to the same moves played out in Poland every week?
  10. This is the problem when a club has a track record of calling matches off on weather forecasts... Fans don't know where they are when there has actually been some substantial rain. Couple that with the riders attitude when the track is slightly wetter than usual and it throws a lot of doubt over the suitability of running the match. I'm planning on travelling over from Leicester for this... have serious doubts though, especially after watching the goings on at KL and Plymouth this week.
  11. Should set fire to the track like they did at Plymouth the other night!
  12. R/R for MPT and Simon Lambert for Ulle... and Sheffield is off, this is allegedly still on!
  13. Have a search around Google on whether it's acceptable to refer to a Woman as a lady and make your own mind up. For me it does seem a rather old fashioned term, something I associate with Tennis... the Ladies Singles Final etc. The beeb do like a minority sport (except for Speedway it would seem), but even more than a minority sport they like Women's sport, they have in the recent past shown Women's Football, Cricket & Rugby, despite the crowd levels being on a par with "established" sports like Speedway (and others)
  14. Lol... you can't just ride through a rider as if he wasn't there, MPT clearly HAD to take avoiding action as Lawson rode straight through him and by the time Lawson DID touch him, however slight, it was only going to end one way.
  15. I wonder if the BSPL have approached the beeb about televising the series... it should be right up aunties alley! Are there 16 "ladies" competing in Speedway?
  16. One can only assume they have the track covers on
