  1. I don't want to be a doom and gloom merchant but if the weather is anything like it has been for the last few days in Leicester and it is forecast to be, then this week be off. We've had a lot of rain with heavy showers at 3pm with rain continuing until around 6pm for the last few days... hope I'm wrong!
  2. I can't see it... Wembley is not what it used to be and i doubt it has the same allure as it once had, gone are the days of it being a special place that was revered around the world, every country has their own "Wembley" these days. We'll never know but I suspect they'd get 50,000 tops. Now 50,000 in the London Stadium would be quite impressive, in a better area and easier to get to... though I can't see that either
  3. Nope... but i bloody well enjoyed my speedway for what it was. I wasn't apathetic at all, I for one was looking forward to enjoying tomorrow's Bank Holiday speedway
  4. I thought he saved your club and won you the league the year before last... and signed you Nicki Pedersen for this year. As a Coventry fan I know exactly what it's like to have your club run into the ground and ultimately close.
  5. I would have said what a load of bollox! There's British riders sat on the sidelines without clubs to ride for... and that is a scandal! You only have to browse through some of the names competing in the Polish U24 league and it makes for very interesting viewing, the young Aussies seem to be giving Britain a swerve these days and a lot of the European talent are electing to ride in it instead of our lower leagues, or the upper one for that matter
  6. ... and what leads you to believe that?
  7. I'm gutted when any Speedway meeting is cancelled tbh. You guys at Peterborough really need to buck up a bit... there's over 400 pages on the Peterborough thread mainly about not having a number 1 and slagging your riders off. Many Panthers fans seem to be sleep walking into extinction
  8. From the dogs? Has Newcastle closed completely then? I thought it was just the Speedway
  9. According to posts on twitter, track covers were used to get this meeting on. Didn't know Redcar had track covers, how long has this been going on?
  10. Exactly how I started going to Speedway, the freebie 2nd half and it wasn't 1 second half and I was in, like you said it was 4 or 5 and then the odd paid full match and then got hooked from there
  11. Nick Morris having a really shaky start to the season so far!
  12. I thought heat 7 was protected? Or is/ was that just the PL?
  13. I could be wrong as there are never any official numbers published but going on sight I would say the last Cardiff GP but one visually looked to be its largest crowd ever, after a pandemic and the start of a "cost of living crisis" it was followed by easily the worst crowd attendance, which came as a bit of a shock after the 2019 event. DSE will have to pull out a few stops to encourage people back this year.
  14. The event itself isn't though is it... this points scoring system is ok if you have 1 race of around 80 laps like the other disciplines of motor sport, this has been discussed to death though
  15. The asset system in Speedway is dead anyway... so pretty pointless really
  16. Somebody heard the words world champion but didn't stick around to hear the end... 125cc junior long track. This piece didn't age well: https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/other-sport/mascot-max-14-is-on-course-to-become-a-full-time-peterborough-panthers-rider-3174480
  17. Totally agree... but meh. Where are our other club assets these days? Genuine question!
  18. I thought he was already an asset anyway tbh. What does being a club asset get you these days anyway? You may be able to eek a loan fee out of him if he continues to ride in this country, that's about it.
