But it's fun to stay at the YMCA!

They failed some compound test i seem to remember, they were too soft or something
-
I think there have been problems since day 1. I remember watching a load of riders and officials in the pits at Peterborough either this season or last having long discussions about the tyres. There may have been problems we just don't know about them?
-
I thought there were issues with them during their first year and they had to abandon using them
-
Weren't the Anlas tyres abandoned from being the GP tyre initially because of quality issues?
-
IF it was a matter of allocation and not how many were available at the stadium that's unforgivable
-
Simon Stead said safety issues when interviewed on Eurosport but that's fair enough, I stand corrected.
-
The issue was over the tyres not lasting 1 race not the quantity at the stadium, that's how I understood it. I think whoever posted ran out of tyres on updates may have it wrong

Buy cheap... buy twice
-
The track was a bit slick, nothing out of the ordinary though... i think it was more of a matter of the tyres not lasting even 1 race rather than them running out of them. If you've ever seen them piled up around the back of the NSS you'll know the kind of quality they are... Fortunately I didn't make the round trip from Leicester to Belle Vue for this one (I did!)

Abandoned!

Ref in the pits at the interval, assume he's talking exploding tyres! Ref now heading back to the pits for more tyre talk. Sweet Caroline playing over the PA to keep the crowd "entertained" In 45 years of attending Speedway I've never seen a tyre disintegrate, blow and hit the following rider... at least they're cheap

Looking for a new venue for the Bees?
-
That's probably for the general discussion section... I put it in here specifically for the Speedway angle. If admission prices track inflation we're looking at £20-£25 next season I would guess.

I'm surprised nobody has started this thread already. Maybe we're all trying to ignore it, but unfortunately with Fridays price cap announcement it's all got very real. After British Speedway seems to have ridden out Covid remarkably well the next existential threat is looming and that is the crazy energy prices. Fortunately the sport closes down over the winter but I suspect the problem is still going to be there next spring. What is Speedway's answer going to be? What should it be? Should clubs be looking to run Saturday & Sunday afternoon to save using the floodlights? Will the stadiums that clubs ride in still be able to run? They are all questions for the clubs, for the punter though, how much are you willing to pay to watch your Speedway when money is going to be so tight?

Try telling that to your car insurance company!

Even your username annoys me... can't you change it to ONONEMINUTE? There's really no reason for 2 minutes, especially for restarts

How long to actually run the heat though, if you're removing the rules it'll be carnage and every race could take several attempts to run, not to mention the atrictian rate of the riders... every race could be like Lawson vs MPT (even though Lawson was clearly at fault)
