  1. There's either a load of Johnny come lately's here tonight or maybe it shows how badly Speedway is missed in the South East?
  2. Brilliant! The firework screen is in da house 🎆
  3. A bigger farce than Kvech & Huckenbeck? A bigger farce than still including a local wild card even though all locales were already catered for? A bigger farce than the Sprint Races? A bigger farce than the points scoring system... I'll leave it at that for the time being 😁
  4. That may very well be the case but I'm trying to think back to his WC years (a long time ago now) and I can't ever remember him being a swashbuckling BZ type rider forcing his way through from the back, I could be wrong, like I say it was a long time ago
  5. Many of the successful World Champions tend to do their work from the gate, Nicki P was electric from the gate during his WC years, Kurtz didn't win it (by a point) this year but most of his work was done from the gate... the exception seems to be BZ who has to do a lot of his work from the back
  6. Needs to be 1 GP per country and get out to some new audiences, Spain, France, Holland? Australia!
  7. Okay, let's assume he is affordable... why then is he not seen outside of his country promoting Speedway as World Champion? Where are his media appearances? His interviews and promotional activities? He doesn't even do interviews during a GP on the world feed! I'll give you that he rides in Sweden
  8. Ahh... @The H Man ... not Harry Redknapp 😂
  9. Can't see him at Poole tonight... cup final as well!
  10. 100% agree, Tai should have stuck around in the UK, just because I think he should be a wild card next year for publicity reasons, I don't agree with everything he's ever done, like I said he's a divisive character, he will get press though unlike BZ. And no it's not a World Champs responsibility to promote British Speedway but I think it is their duty to promote World Speedway and you don't do that by hiding away in Poland.
  11. He's a great advert, his near death experience got a lot more headlines that Bartek's 6th World Championship. And the Poles I've met in day to day life in this country, although aware of Speedway, have shown no interest in discussing it with me... but that may just be me 😂
  12. But you're not a 6 x World Champion who is responsible for promoting our sport to the world as that Champion. He's a terrible advert for our sport off track with his inability to communicate with anybody outside of Poland. His on track ability is not in question nor is whether he's a nice guy or not, like you say he does come across as a nice guy... but that's easy when you're always winning. "Me big happy" just doesn't cut it when communicating with the world's media. Tai will get you column inches Zmarzlik's responsibility as custodian of the World Championship is to be seen outside of his own country at the PCMT, Czech Golden Helmet etc. And not price his appearance fee so high that nobody can afford to book him.
  13. There is... but somebody should tell the World Champ 👍🏻
  14. Also while we're at it let's go back to 1 GP per country and introduce some new audiences
  15. Love him or hate him at least he generates an opinion and the media outlets love that... I can often find myself loving and hating him in the same meeting! Zmarzlik as good as he undoubtedly is adds nothing to Speedway outside of Poland and possibley Sweden.
  16. When you've got a 6 x World Champion whose command of the English language doesn't extend beyond "me big happy" it's no surprise that the promoters want somebody who will guarantee some media coverage with maybe the odd f-bomb dropped in for good measure. If they've got anything about them they'll already have a camera crew following his rehab journey. As much as he doesn't deserve to be in it on the form of the last 4 or 5 years he does on the media coverage he'll bring with his comeback from near death... so I think I'm all for it on that basis.
  17. Having watched more or less every senior meeting at Leicester since its reopening I can't ever recall seeing a dive bomb into turn 3 ever being tried, let alone working, like I said turn 1 is for that move and you see it quite often, especially from Chris Harris
  18. ... having said that, on a positive note he has been the most successful Leicester manager ever, winning us the league & Shield in 2019 and the Cup this year, not only that but he has made Leicester a competitive force to be reckoned with after always being a Cinderella club with some terrible manager through the years. He does seem quite charismatic, speaks his mind and is generally quite upbeat, I do feel at times though that he has a CL mentality rather than a PL one especially when it comes to rider selection at the lower end, maybe he's been a bit too loyal to riders not performing (Cook & Hagon). He called the riders out last night for "playing" on their phones and it was interesting to hear that John McGuinness also made a similar comment when he was interviewed
  19. You just don't make that dive bomb move at Leicester it never ever works on turn 3 (it can do on turn 1), it's not Sheffield, if you watch the coverage you'll see that every other rider backed off from making that same move during the meeting because it just does not work, everybody else knew this and just because it's a pay off final does not mean that all of a sudden it is going to work.
  20. Not so sure about all this praise regarding Mr Dickson, he's dropped some clangers with Leicester in the PL, he binned Dan Thompson off, signed the likes of Craig Cook & Troy Batchelor had Nick Morris & Richie Worrall. Started this season off with Cook & Hagon when neither should have been anywhere near a Lions team place, has stuck by Drew Kemp & Joe Thompson for far too long... he does talk a good game though, I'll give him that!
