One of the few things that this competition does have going for it is riders/teams are actually placed based on the race points they're scoring and the team with the most points will win... how novel

Time will tell won't it, if he's a special talent or if his sudden upturn in form (which to be fair has lasted for a couple of years now) is a flash in the pan. There are so many riders through the years that find the winning formula but are then just unable to repeat it and spend the rest of their careers in search of it, despite changing everything and then returning to what got them success in the first place. Of course there are other factors in play, I'm just saying that sometimes some engines are more equal than others it just the way they come off the assembly line, nothing untoward going on from any riders.
